There is a lot of scavenging for upgrades, consumables for survival, gas and loot as well. Also lots of customization and the on foot gameplay looks great. There is more to it than that.
It's going to be great. I am actually more excited for this than MGSV, as it has none of the timed upgrade garbage and microtransactions.

research takes time but you can pay to speed it up in TPP.
The gamescon demo for Phantom Pain shows that Mother Base's construction involves timers, meaning it's immediately garbage.
Has this been confirmed? So far I'd assumed it was just microtransactions for cosmetic/MGO stuff.
All of which can be put under the umbrella of "Boring AC checklist stuff". My biggest concern about this game since its reveal was that it would end up falling victim to the typical open world problems of including too much minutiae and calling it content, a la Far Cry, and this video is confirming those concerns.
Scavenging and survival stuff is going to be used to pad out playtime, mark my words. At some point players are going to realize they're being forced to do way too many repetitive sidequest grinds just to get to the next story mission.
Is this still out the same week as Phantom Pain? It actually looks way more interesting, but it's going to get stomped.
It's the PS4 version as seen by the DS4 in the hands of the player. The Xbox One version was shown during the Xbox Daily show today and looked slightly smoother. All other press material shown was PC.
How could it be that bad when it's just rendering a desert, wow. Witcher 3 renders a ton more foliage/rocks and the world is infinitely more detailed than this.

Wondering if the publisher essentially told them to make Shadow of Mordor with Cars and Guns. Though this looks a lot more fun than Mordor.
Cant unsee Assassin's Creed/Ubisoft influence. Dammit.
Still looks alright though.
If you can see it; you can go there.
If this wasn't based on a super popular movie no one would give a shit. Gameplay looks really bland and from a technical perspective, it's actually pretty bad.

I agree. Already feeling an itch to just cruise around in that car. There's something I really like about the dynamic between Max, your vehicle, and the mechanic traveling the wasteland just doing things. It's like games with a horse companion, except the horse isn't dumb as bricks and useless.
If the game is simply comfort food with a Mad Max skin, I'll be fine with that. Anything more is a bonus.
