Why don't they switch weigh in to immediately before the fight? If you miss weight you forfeit.
 
I hate Mayweather but he's faster and stronger and Rousey's boxing game is hilarious. He would body her very quickly.

I wonder if the UFC is behind her ridiculous hunger for media attention or what.
 
Add that to the list of things Ronda would win at, up to and including a spelling bee.
 
PBF made over $200m in his last fight. He spent far more on cars this year than Rousey made from fight purses plus endorsements. And he's an all-time great in a sport where the modern competitive period spans over a century. I like Rousey and I enjoy MMA, but constantly mentioning Mayweather is just cheap press. As a sports figure and as an athlete he's far above anyone in MMA. Not even in the same galaxy, man.

Because you would still have people try to cut as much as possible. When the body is low on water your brain absorbs impacts more which would cause more brain damage and concussions. At least now with the cut they have 24 hours to get their water back

There is an upcoming IV ban to address the situation though. Many fighters step off the scale and immediately get an IV to rehydrate

yeah thats not fair they aren't fighters, they are killing people. They don't have time to setup for a take down or work the body .....not saying that puts them in an echelon above someone who engages in full combat for money though that shit is nuts most people would just lose it or crumble in the ring/octagon.

Boxers wearing gloves has only raised the number of blows to the head. Hands tend to break against thick skulls, they're a lot more protected with gloves. Take away the gloves and he'd probably receive less blows to the head. Boxing seems easier if your opponents tend to avoid face hits.

Yeah, I agree. How many threads and articles have we had about an her taking shots at Mayweather. #1 shes a woman and he's a man. Never gonna happen. I'll be more interested in seeing Ronda fight ACTUAL female competition in UFC. #2 When was the last time a world champion MMA fighter and world champion boxer in their prime fought? Never lol.

Lets take baby steps first Ronda, fight at a higher catchweight to prove you can beat a bigger girl, then fight a same size MMA male, THEN we can talk about crossing over sports men vs female etc.
 
Why are people obsessed about comparing two people that don't do the same sport? Never mind the whole male vs. female thing.

Boxing and MMA aren't even close to equivalent just because they are both combat sports.
 
Honestly not sure if she would. I understand she's a more rounded combat fighter, but that doesn't mean Mayweather couldn't knock her out with a punch or two. Hell, no rules? She'd have to immobilize him entirely.

You realize that the entire point of boxing gloves is so that you can punch harder without breaking your hands right? Without gloves you can punch nowhere NEAR as hard. You'll break your hand on the first punch and basically won't be able to punch again afterward if you punched as hard as a boxer does with gloves on.

The explosion of female fighters is already happening in MMA. Rousey and Meisha Tate are already huge draws

Boxing is light years behind on the women's side though
 
You have to question if the folks who seriously think Rhonda would win are too invested in fiction. In the real world, being bigger, faster, and stronger means a lot more than animes and action movies would have you think.

Boxing gloves make the sport more dangerous, not less. They're not there to protect the skull, they're there to protect the knuckles so you can punch as hard as you want.

This is true. Consider the culture of boxing, though. It's been a refuge for thugs, rapists, murderers, organized crime, and so on. Mayweather is pretty tame in that world. He's still a POS for sure. But RR (and most of the media!) give Mike Tyson props and that guy is a convicted rapist.

Just sayin'.

Ronda shouldn't need to move up. She's the 135 lb champ. Cyborg signed with UFC and UFC doesn't have a 145 lb division for women. Besides, Ronda wouldn't want to fight males in UFC -- it wouldn't go well for her. TJ Dillashaw would be too much and too fast.
