Fighting Games Weekly |8/10-16| Gods(Beard) Among Us

It's Street Fighter 4 with robots. About the only nice things I can say about it is that it doesn't have reversals that can be mashed out during block strings and there's 10 million option selects. That's about it.

It's so Street Fighter 4 it hurts right now. And I despise Street Fighter 4.
SF4 doesn't have 1 button specials or cooldown timers. Or rollback netcode. And its not free to play.

While I live in an area much smaller than LA- a hybrid gaming store/arcade setup works very well here.

If you live in Central NC- you should hit Lost Ark in Greensboro at some point, their tournies suck but the place is nice to go to on non-tourney days. They have a bunch of older and some newer games, and often have an obscure modern-gen anime console game around for you to try. I've seen Daemon Bride there at times. They also run the arcade machines at Animazement/TFC- good people in general.

(Their tournies tend to be disorganized and a bit too cramped)

Lost Ark is super close to me, but I have never gone to one of their tournaments. They are trying to do some danisen league for Xrd, USF4, WHP, Vampire Savior, Third Strike, SF2T, etc.

Has Capcom even made an action game after DMC4?

Capcom has been making a lot of great Sengoku Basara games since then.

I'm looking to buy a Hori Fighting Commander 4 in Canada. Anyone know of an online retailer with an especially good price and/or no sales tax?

Amazon.ca is the only place I've found it so far, but I'm unfamiliar with the Canadian online retailer space.

Wow.

lol

Momochi: To tell you the truth, I thought it was 2-2 when it was still 2-1. I thought it was over when I lost the game. Watch the footage. You can see me go like *leaning back, putting hands on the back of his head.* I was like "ah it's over. My EVO is over. I lost with a huge comeback."
Tokido: If it was the last game, it's huge.
Momochi: It was a huge comeback. I then look at GamerBee. He didn't do anything like he's excited, punching the air and stuff. I was like "What? Is he trying not to be Woshige?" I asked him, "Is it still 2-2?" He was like "yeah one more game."
Mago: Yeah when I think about it, I kinda remember that. I was like "Is this Woshige again?"
Momochi: I almost became a reverse-Woshige. I was gonna shake hands like good games.
Bonchan: It went crazy after that.
Momochi: I felt so revived. I thought it's over but it was not.
Mago: EVO this year, there was a man who came back in time and a man who couldn't.
Momochi: I took a short break then. I tried to focus again. You know part of me thought it was over already. I tried to fight that very hard.

And on an unrelated note, Alucard styled on people for over 100 games at the SFV station, so much that they had to kick him off lol

I'm going to need to start playing some different games to justify shelling out money to travel to majors :T

I already played HS, got pretty good at it(so close to legend ;;), then stopped playing since I didn't like how the game was going. I still watch and follow it sometimes, maybe even play an arena.

You guys know I mean fighting games for fighting game tournaments :v

Play Smash! It's super popular and easy to get into.

Just play MUGEN it's the most complete fighting game

That's a good way to practice for all the games.

FADC is the only distinctly SF4 thing about it; I dislike it too in its current form, and that seems to be the general concensus, so hopefully it will get tuned. It has the pace of an SF game, but the characters have more flair to them (I want them to get even crazier with the loadouts/specials in the future).

Just out of curiosity, what do you play?
