Pokken Tournament for Wii U (Spring 2016 WW) Announced at Pokemon World Championships

I'm not into Pokemon any more and probably won't play this, but I just wanted to show my support for Pikachu Libre.
That's awesome haha

Also, I expect this game to sell a huge amount.

Because it's Pikachu.

wait...a raichu wearing a raichu costume ate a raichu? >.>

Justin is tweeting out game info.

If it comes out in March or April then it has enough time to be an EVO game.

Do we have an examples of the shortest time from release to make it into Evo? Mr.Wizard tends to be really strict on late releases.

The release date isn't an issue. The problem would be if Pokemon would allow it there or not.
Or if there's a proper community for this.

Any reason why they wouldn't? If Nintendo is publishing it, they might have more say.

Another question, this game seems built around two screen, how are they going handle single screen fights?

Wait wait wait...

So, not only is this the first Tournament class fighting game with pokemon..

It's also the first time a FEMALE LUCHADORA Has been in a fighting game.

No, srsly, Pika Libre is a girl.

EDIT: And then I'm suddenly bombarded with four of them. Welp, NVM!

Besides Spooky, J Wong, and Hugs, does anyone recognize the other names in the invitational? I assume most of them are competitive Pokemon players, but idk.

Called it. Hopefully it's out in time for EVO 2016.

I remember Ishihara saying that he wanted Pokken to eventually be at Worlds. I doubt that will happen next year though seeing as Nationals for VGC/TCG would have already started by then. 2017 is very possible though.

Will get this day 1. This Dissidia and Smash Bros are literally the only fighting games that have my interest. I've always loved Smash Bros. Just can't do games like Street Fighter or some of the other games like Guilty Gear etc.

Lots of Tekken players, a few Smash, and a few Capcom players. Aris was set to commentate the event but Nintendo didn't think he looked the part for their event so he was not allowed to go.

Nintendo money hats another exclusive. I've played every other Tekken game on PlayStation and now I have to use one of my WiiU controllers instead.

This is the most anti-consumer practice possible. Maybe if we all bother Harada on twitter like people did with Kamiya over Bayonetta we can get blocked by him too.

What is this making fun of? (Please tell me this is making fun of something.)

I'm shocked. How did Nintendo get exclusivity on this? The Wii U is doing abysmal. Is this Bayonetta 2 all over again? The PS4 is clearly the market leader and has a better relationship with Bandai Namco due to Tekken and past games. I can't explain my frustration with this money hat. These deals need to stop. What heck I look like trying to play a fighting game on a Fisher Price Tablet.

Completely sarcastic. This is very cool and I can't imagine how it wasn't done sooner. This is how I always envisioned Pokemen fighting.

Edit: Beaten to the Hitmonchan

We'll end up getting all of the cosplay Pikachu before Raichu and the Pokemon that would also fit the movesets created for the costumes, won't we?

lol poor Aris. He's my favorite commentator.

It would've been so funny hearing him pronounce pokemon names considering he doesn't know shit about pokemon.

Yeah, tell'em, tell'em all. After stealing our games, now Nintendo is stealing their own games. It's unacceptable...unacceptable, I say!

You think the last Wii U game is coming out in Spring?

I mean

Of course you do, but does any rational person think that?

If they keep their "promise" of support even with the NX, then I expect games well into 2016. But then I also expect some aspect of the NX (handheld) to launch in 2016, and potentially the WiiU and the NX-handheld could share games if compiling either way is easy enough to do.

Lol, guess you need to play some catchup on fighting games.
