I don't know. I think if it were about sf3 characters that were not sf4, then there would be a different color since this is a designed hint from Capcom, and most of the audience, as shown by these threads, see them as separate casts.
If anything it would be the alpha characters and the sf2 characters grouped together as one entity, and the sf3 characters being considered as separate.
I don't doubt the connection or the comic book showing what happened to Nash but it does make me raise an eyebrow.
Could it be because, other than Juri and C. Viper the other new characters introduced in Street Fighter IV weren't popular?
The rumor wasn't trying to predict Vega, it just gave the names of 4 characters not an entire roster
the uh entire roster have been floating around for sometime though. i dont know if it was siliconera or something else but most characters shown were already predicted which leads to the assumption that Karin, Alex and Urien are also in.
They didn't put out an entire roster, and all leak rosters were deconfirmed a long time ago.

People might be reading too much into Mika's inclusion. The salt will be real if Sim and Guile were the remaining green spots after all lol.

Yes. The only things that are still standing are Siliconera's 4 leaks - Mika Karin Alex Urien - and Ken Bogard's newcomer info.

Which is also hilarious from the technique standpoint; everyone got tired of doing parries, and Ryu is the only one still using them.
I like the theory that they have more than 16 characters on the works, and just select which ones to fuck around with the leaks.
Maybe (probably) not 32, but I'd be surprised if launch day came and they didn't have other 4 DLC characters ready.
So, maybe there's still a (slim) chance of no Urien/Alex/Karin.

Well, the key thing to remember about siliconera's 'rumour' is that they didn't state the 4 would be in the core roster, merely that they'd be playable. It's still possible that some of them won't make the core but instead will appear in the first DLCs.
Yea I'm with you, I don't think the green means 3s characters but I do think the last Blue is Karin.

Out of Mika,Alex,Urien and Karin. We all knew at least one of them were going in.
I still think its a bit of a far stretch for all 4 to be in , but idk.
We could just get Urien as the 3S rep and Sim/Gief/Blanka/Sagat or something for the green SF2 slots.

Considering they come from the same source, very unlikely
I still believe that Urien will be the boss, and initially unplayable (not counted among the initial 16). So I think we'll get at least one 3s character, and it will probably be Alex, though I'd love for it to be Necro. We don't have any stretchy guys or electric guys yet and he's way more fun to use than Teleport Poke guy or Blanka.

Indeed. The Siliconera rumors were posted on July 8th. At the time the SFV roster was Ryu, Chun, Cammy, Birdie, Nash, and Bison. So their leaks would still work

I still dont believe they made such a high detail statue of him for no reason.

Not likely. Each character costs money to develop. Capcom isn't just churning out characters and then reading Siliconera going, "Welp, someone figured out the roster. Cut Juri!"

Oro would be a nice secret boss. If you have fulfilled certain conditions in Arcade Mode to reach him (in the way that you're worthy enough to have a fight with him).
I wouldn't mind Alex getting a hair color change to be honest.

Blonde doesn't bother me because they will be the minority once dlc characters happen. The newer characters look like they won't be blondes either due to their rumored locations.
I wanna see her talk some smack on the mic, maybe against villain characters.

You could be right but I'm more inclined to theorise she'll be addressing the crowd directly to get them riled into a chorus of 'mika' or 'rainbow' chants

Doesn't Karin dye her hair? I swear I read that somewhere. As long as she doesn't lose her drills, I'm fine with whatever they do with her if she's redesigned.
Though to be honest, I feel that she might not make it at all, and that Juri will come back instead for the initial cast. I just can't see them not bring back at least 1 SF4 character in the core fighters, so might as well go for the one that's relevant to the story.

They are gonna make the characters anyway, they want to do DLC and they have a pool of them, prolly in parallel. They may not be worried about Siliconera, but about dehyping if people know the characters before hand.
