I think out of the 4 Alpha characters, Karin is the character that least needs an upgrade. She will still get some tweaks as all characters have in V, but I'm not expecting a complete overhaul.

Yeah this sounds realistic. The fact that the game also has a whole different feel and system mechanics (V-everything) also contributes to this.

Ryu, Ken, Chun and Cammy are holding the cast back by being basically the same characters they've always been. Hell, they took away some of the only new stuff Chun had from the initial reveal.

Make her a MMA fighter but with a boxing base. She'd have some grappling tech but her main game would be boxing.

Meh, save the boxing for a character from PR or Mexico. Countries with a strong background in the sport and not a ton, if any representation

Yes, they are gross and uncool. That's why SF characters are so good. They're exaggerated and iconic like super heroes are.
Except for sf. The only way a pr char is ever going to get in is if he's a boxer. So no.

People want Karin, Urien and Alex (and Mika) back mainly because they have not appeared in a long ass time. Mainstays like Sagat and such and even relative newcomers like Juri have had their time in the sun and probably will eventually show up. It's time to bring back some forgotten characters.

maybe they were forgetting for a reason? nostalgia is a hell of a thing, and even when they bring back old characters they will play totally different only be the same in name and look
it appears at least 1 more alpha character will come back for sure but to leave out any SF4 imo would be a mistake SF4 is the reason fighting games came back to life and has a HUGE fan base
actually there a characters here and there that aren't from those places that have just decided to take on fighting styles as their own. Along with that, like Guile, Charlie, Remy and a few others. There are characters who don't even have a definitive fighting style. What the hell would you call while guile does, a lot of that doesn't resemble military training. The closest to a military trained fighter you have is Abel, because he uses Judo and MMA. Or say like cody, who literally just fights. What the hell do you call viper, she's her whole fighting style is just " I'm smarter than you " Or Vega , who is described to use and I quote " Spanish ninjistu "

I agree that we should have a SFIV rep but with Vega(no offense to his fans..chillll) that ship has sailed. Alex and Urien are both better additions than any character we can still play on our ps4s. Plus IMO Juri and Abel are the only two I feel could even be brought back... Hakan is cool but eh, Viper's whole playstyle isn't even viable anymore, and the other new dudes sucked.
Just caught from the Vine posted on the SF Twitter that Necalli is a glass cannon-type character? Is that accurate? If so, I don't know how that got by me.
I would love for Hakan to be slightly retooled and brought back in SFV.

the absolute truth is capcom will ONLY make DLC characters they know people want to buy
who people use online in USF4 will carry more weight then who gets more votes in some capcom poll on their website, at least it would if their were smart..... casuals that makeup the majority of sales for SF5 and are not the ones screaming for characters from alpha, for every 1 post saying "we want blah blah" theres 100 people not saying anything spending $12 for someone they know from SF4

You do realize that Capcom will retool characters in order to make them more attractive to play and buy, right?
If I get Omega Dan in SFV, I'm buying that shit because that character is incredibly fun to play, but how many Dan's do you see online usually?
Also, who do you think make up the majority of the online polls people are citing showing how popular Rainbow Mika and Karin are? Those people are casual fans who want characters that haven't shown up in a while to come back.
There are several characters that I hope don't come such as Blanka, or Dee Jay, but I know that those characters have fans, and I'm not going to begrudge them and moan that they took away a character slot from another character when the reality is that my preferred character might not have made the roster in the first place.
People in general need to realize that they won't like every character on the roster, and that's okay. Find one that you do like, and play him or her. Nobody is saying you have to play everyone.
you do realize that names sell and people are far more likely to spend money on someone they use to main in SF4 and not someone to just have fun with down they line you might see guys like dan but not out of the gate when they are trying out this new system
mika being in the main game has nothing to do with selling DLC same with karin you would buy SF5 no matter what the core roster was

What exactly is your argument? If they put Karin or R. Mika as DLC, and gave them the retooled moveset that they did give to R. Mika and likely will with Karin, people will buy them. But they're not 'names'?

Akuma is a lock for DLC if he's not in the main roster. Easiest prediction ever.
Though honestly, I hope over the 6 or 7 year lifespan of the game they add every previous SF character along with some newcomers.

No its not if I have you what your argument is. If you are saying people will buy popular characters, fine, but your definition of popular seems to be different than other people. R.Mika and Karin are popular characters people would be excited to return and would sell as DLC if Capcom would choose that route for them.
This isn't a Tanya or Tremor situation vs. Jason and Predator. Jason and Predator have mass mainstream appeal vs the relatively obscure MK games they are fun.
People know who Karin, or R. Mika are.
