Well considering the fact literally no one, even streamers or reviewers seemed to have any idea about it as they mentioned the servers weren't online to let you upload, I just assumed as much.

My theory is given the context of the story, the GZ thing is to help counteract data mining, so far from everything I've seen or read about with the game, I feel like part of it is missing, that there's something extra that caused all this fuss about the cost of developing, because right now most of this content could have been crammed into a PSP game, given how large Peace Walker is.

Yeah. It's why the FOB thing is bugging me too. It's like...yeah they'd have to activate the servers, but you'd think that the servers would be active already? Unless there's a patch in order to activate the FOB/GZ data transfer(Even though the data transfer requiring online capability instead of just scouring your HDD for the necessary info), then maybe they'll patch in something else?

What are you talking about, Otacon lived with Huey and Emma's mother.
He died when Otacon was a very young teenager.

In MGS2, Otacon reveals his stepmom basically started an affair with Otacon when he was *too* young (I assumed like 13-15), and one day while Emma and Huey were swimming, Huey ends up drowning, or committing suicide or something, I forget the details, I believe he intentionally wheeled himself into the pool though, and Emma was calling out for help but Otacon and his stepmom were busy.

That would make no sense, you defend by simply having guards and forces patrolling your FOB.
