so you agree that you get why some people might not enjoy it as much and find problems with it and how others dont
that's all
also I watched the trailer like 2 times and the first one was when we were all basically guessing it was Metal Gear on TPP reveal thread
its not about ruining games for yourself, even if I loved the intro I could still perfectly understand how it might not be everyone's cup of tea to have to so slowly go through something like that
limited slow movement is rarely a good thing in videogames
of course i understand but seriously this game does the opposite with cutscenes from any other mgs game because every one complains and complains about them being to long and too many... and this was probably the longest one in the game, but it really wasnt ever a cutscene for me because i could control snake... the slow movment made since because the dude was in a bed for nine years... then some are complaining there isnt enough of them... kojima just cant win... lol
Seems like it. I can kinda see why Konami would take his name off the box, it's said enough times during the game. I get he wanted it more episodic but it's a bit much having every mission have intro and outro credits.
yeah he does talk in tapes but it is a little werid that he doesnt say shit in the cutscenes ive seen... keifer probably got 1k a word or some shitwell, kojima has a tough job, we can agree there, lol
I dont mind MGS cutscenes, the opposite actually, I enjoy them
but cause they're crazy and they're cutscenes
this is neither. kinda standard (besides already seen) and you gotta slowly "control" (barely) through it is all
in fact on the opposite spectrum im bummed about Big Boss being a damn mute. gimme dem cutscenes
Are there really gona be credits at the end of every mission?
Eh, that's a little awkward.
Yeah - that Ishmael is probably you too in some way. Still it makes no sense although things he said like "You are talking to yourself" gave it away. That Fireguy has the same wounds and chips in his face as BB.
Early tape spoiler connected to that above:
Later you learn from a tape that the horn can cause hallucination but it doesn't make sense as Ocelot clearly also sees the Fireguy
When they first started catching up to me there was a real sense of dread.
I tried to be sneaky by putting Kaz on D-Horse when (character spoiler)arrived, hoping that I could past through them without worrying Kaz since D-Horse can be called anywhere regardless of the distance. As it turned out, she came without Kaz when I called her so I had to go all the way back.Skulls Unit
I get impatient and they spotted me and you know the rest of the story...
What is your opinion on the PC controls? So far they're okay for me except turning around with the keyboard can be a bit finicky.
"A game series with 28 years worth of games and lore didn't cater to me as a new player so the intro to the most recent game is 'kind of shit'."The prologue is kind of shit and had me going WTF as I don't know metal gear lore. It went on for way too long.
The game is infinitely better once you get past that crap.
Seriously could someone tell me what I have to do at the end of mission 16:
The skulls just popped out of the truck and I'm surrounded by about 10 puppet soldiers. Do I have to kill them all to progress? I don't want to risk wasting another 30 mins on this shit.
Has anyone redeemed the codes that come with the CE in Europe/Australia?
I redeemed the Day 1 code fine, but the MGO code says something like it's no longer valid? Is that supposed to be the case?
Also I should point out that I had a HUUUUUUUGE grin on my face when I found the (early episode cassette spoilers)dude shitting himself cassette tape
This game is 100% Metal Gear.
It's good but not that really that amazing once you cool down on the excitement from playing this game. Main reason being it repeats the same situation over and over and hence overstays and the complete lack of control is another one. It might just have been a cutscenes but then that wouldn't have worked either because there's barely any dialogue. Those who hated the intro are blowing my mind right now.
Overhype? just how I feel about it personally, for me the intro was worth that kind of reaction as a Metal Gear Solid fan. But I'll respect others opinions on it.To be fair, I think a lot of people (you included unfortunately) did really overhype the thing.
Don't be seen and throw empty magazines to distract them away, once you're seen it's better you retry from checkpoint. It'll take a few tries but all you have to do is fulton the truck then call in the chopper to the closest point possible and go there, silently or atleast once you get away from everyone start running.
So nobody has figured out how to play as grunts yet?
Can diamond dog die?
Glad I'm not the only one, which means they might not have activated the MGO code yet... Now what about the GZ code? :/Same problem here with aus version.
So nobody has figured out how to play as grunts yet?
Yup I listed to that tape too, really strange stuff.
ep 1 spoiler:anyone know where the diamonds are in Spugmay keep? im just walking around some ruins and dont see shit
Glad I'm not the only one, which means they might not have activated the MGO code yet... Now what about the GZ code? :/
Ocelot will tell you about it when you progress more. You will also have a dedicated platform for it called Combat Unit Platform.
Does playing as grunts have any advantage?
I played yesterday with a grunt and everything was the same. Same voice as snake and people still acted as I was Snake
Some interesting ways of showing useful information on there. Especially like this diagram.

Anyone else receive their game guide from Piggyback yet? It's really good. Features plenty of Shinkawa art at the back for all of the characters. And Shinkawa artwork of Big Boss on a large card. And it's beautiful.
I also like that Kojima himself comments on every location, mech/vehicles and characters at the back of the book too. Guide has also been providing great help with finding those valuable resources and completing the hidden sub-quests in each mission. It's great stuff.
My Day 1 code worked fine. Are you saying yours doesn't? Maybe I'll try again tomorrow but it's not a good sign when the game has been out for the better part of a day in Australia!I'm getting the same error on both codes. I think it's just due to the MGSV:TPP serveres not being active yet. Even the GZ code is for mother base stuff so it makes sense it wont be active yet.
No, I don't think so. Less wives or more gaming consoles/pc's.Does this have multiple save slots? Dying to start this tonight, but so is my wife tomorrow :lol
Yeah, I grief too and don't know why they wouldn't give it to PC owners too.Damn, just discovered that the companion app doesn't work with PC. that's a major bummer. Would have been nice to have.
