No, you won't kill her if you use a normal sniper.
(You just won't get S ratting for the mission)

If you really want to a good laugh:
Summon a chopper during that fight.

Anyone found a use for this yet? I was going to try leaving one in the road later and see if a guard might stop his truck long enough for me to get in. Can't think of any other way to use it.

there was a gif way back of an enemy truck straight going off road after hitting poo

There is supposed to be something that you can miss early at mother base
i found that door with the blue light at the medical base but inside there are just 2 dead ends. Did I already miss it?

When they unlocked for me (I don't remember exactly when) they were referred to as their code names. (The Eye and whoever.)

Well, I've unlocked the other Ground Zeroes staff, but they are nowhere to be seen. Maybe because I've replayed the mission since extracting them? Is that how it works?

Take your XBox Offline by either disconnecting it from WiFi or unplugging the ethernet cable if you have it wired.
There's still some weird bug that has been there since Day 1 on the One where if you are online trying to install a game it takes forever.
Take it offline, install from disk, then go back online and grab the update.
That should work.
i got it digital

I have a use that I want to try, to see what happens...

Hold up a soldier, make him lie down...then...you know what comes next. There has to be some sort of result, knowing Kojima's attention to detail.

ah yes, just what I imagined in metal gear solid...spending 45 minutes running around looking for plants and processed material to fully complete a mission...and I still cant find them

Just downloaded my GZ save and now its stuck on the loading screen, showing a spinning circle without saying press x to continue, anyone else had that?

Do you need to progress in the story to earn the daily login rewards?

I'm still finishing Peace Walker and don't want to start TPP yet...

Lol What system? On ps4 I've had no bugs in over 60 hours, it's incredibly polished.

The PS4 has issue for some reason anytime I am in the ACC the PS4 fan goes into hyper loud mode and the games slows down and freezes at times I had to reboot the PS4 as it was stuck and I have played about 50 hours currently at 51% completion.

Anyone elses ps4 go really loud when in really simple menus or in the helicopter? Its really annoying

Yes I to get stop playing a couple of times and blow cold air into the PS4 I figure the ACC elements are very demanding on the PS4 but I don't see how.

Some sharp ears on the guards in this game. I was having fun with a guard outside the half-a-meter thick concrete walls of the compound and one dude started running from the inside to check up on me.

For upgrades, do you need to buy the earlier versions or can you just wait until your research is high enough for version 2 or 3? Is there much point to researching all the various weapons, I'm going to be doing mostly stealth with tranq pistol, I'll probably use a sniper some too and upgrade at least 1 assault rifle but I don't see a use for smg, shotgun, etc.

are there any SUPER IMPERATIVE things to glean from the Ground Zeroes save?

I did play it back when it came out but I honestly can't remember if I finished it or what

I'm about 5 hours in and I think this is the best video game I've ever played just in terms of sheer fun and gameplay.
There has never been a moment as great to me as when I stormed an Afghani base, got spotted, got hit by a sandstorm and proceeded to run up and punch five or six dudes out and Fulton them all out.
The stealth is there. The action is there. I'm a believer. V has come to.

Just a heads up that enemies will learn you use the tranq and start to wear helmets so you can't get head shots all the time.

Fffuuuck. Opened my copy and the back part of the cover is torn in the middle. How the hell does this happen :(

Gameplay wise it's probably the most un-Metal Gear game of the series (and that includes PW) and reminds me a lot of the first few Assassin's Creed games. Galloping around a large expanse of land on horseback, coming across the occasional solders and collectible. It's still bloody great and I suspect I'll be playing this for some time.

You basically have to either Fulton them, tranq them while they're stunned or not stun them in the first place but either tranq them or hold them up and then get them down.
Bear in mind stun durations vary depending on how you stunned them: typically, KOing them with punches or a regular CQC throw will lead to a shorter stun time than a CQC throw into a wall or choking them.

The sneaking suit helps a lot in that regard as it makes your footsteps a lot less audible. Practically, this means you shouldn't be heard when doing a regular crouch walk to sneak up on an enemy.

Until you unlock it, things are probably going to suck though (IIRC, I had unlocked it by the time I reached mission 10, no idea if the one you get from the GZ save import is the same).

That's what marking is for and that's why marking isn't cheating, it's just a way to rebalance the game in an open world context. That means recon is crucial and whenever you approach a base, you should find some high ground to scope out as many enemies as possible. Ideally, find several vantage points to get different angles.
As you progress, motherbase development and buddies will make this easier but the first few hours are raw infiltration.

Bear in mind the silencer breaks easily anyway at first, so either have a very focused use of the tranq gun or call supply drops. For any given guard, I tend to always evaluate: how approachable he is for a hold up or a chokehold or how avoidable he is, ie how much I can simply ignore him. Overall, I usually drill one specific path through a base, darting as few guards as possible and leaving the rest alone and once I'm in, I try to figure out how to take them out in close quarters.

See above, you can. It's just that there are so many in large zones that I tend to remove some variables first with tranqs and only then, once I'm managing a more local situation, do I figure out the best route.
Ty for all the infos:) very useful

How to ruin the entire first mission, poor D-Horse. :(

rofl, his reaction

How's the game for someone who never played a mgs game before? Still good? (I don't really care about the overarching story if that's an issue).

my copy came in today from Amazon, cant wait to start playing!

Phantom Limbs spoilers:
So if you're an MLG-Mountain-Dew-pizza-dodge-roll-badass can you take on the Skulls? I tried tranquilizing one of 'em in the head and it yelled at me but other than that hardly reacted. They were pretty easy to run away from on D-Horse. It was an awesome moment though.
