It seems timing is much more important than stealth for S kills. Even when you have to use reflex mode, as long as you have a good timing, you can S rank almost anything. It seems all S ranks (correct me if I'm wrong) are linked to 130,000 points. You can even kill a bunch of people and still get S rank. However, the more kills you do, the better timing you'll need as you lose out on the "no kills" bonus.

Honestly, considering it takes more time to do a perfect stealth run... I'm not so sure that is worth it if you only want S ranks.

is there a story reason why snake is so quiet during the game?

not looking for *the* reason if there is, a spoiler tagged yes or no would suffice.

also, to people who have finished it, is the twist "grounded"? or ridiculous? for reference sake, i found the "twist" in mgs2 involving the S3 plan to be completely fine.

So until you get vehicle deployment, it seems for most missions best to start with D Horse and then switch to another buddy when you arrive at your destination.

Read this in Ocelot's voice for some reason. Just seems like some tutorial thing he would say, cadence and pauses and all.

I swear sometimes it feels like Kaz/Snake/Ocelot have the same voice actor tho

So uh... Is it not possible to go back and watch the Man Who Sold the World opening without completely erasing your save data? Going back to replay the prologue starts you off after Snake's already awakened

I just picked up my copy from best buy on the ps4. Starting the game right now. This will be my first real game play even though I own every game up to this point.

Why is this game installing data during the middle of play? Why can't I just install it all ahead of time? Dumb.

Of course I get an error and the install is stuck too.

The autosave could be a bit better though it was my fault I buggered it up. Finished two of the Mother Base practice side ops and managed to fall off a pipe when I was doing another. It hadn't saved my progress so I had to do them again.

After a few hours, I ain't even mad that most of the exposition and flavour is tucked away in cassettes. There is so much gameplay here that it feels like if they tried to tell the whole story in a linear fashion like previous games, we'd be here for 120 hours.

Anyone seen female soldiers to fulton?
I'd like to use a female character for my sneaking sometimes.

Haven't played yet.

Here's a tip to make interrogation for you guys even better. Make'em sleep then take out a lethal weapon, shoot their leg with one shot and then grab them as they wake up.

Soldiers, I don't think so(I could be wrong) but prisoners yes who you could recruit and then play as.

Yeap, so fucking annoying.

MGS always had some of the best VO in any game, ever, how did they fuck up this bad? I don't know why I'm so bummed by this, but I am.

after interrogating a guy he said "this is where our specialist is"

but the map doesn't show me anything special? what should I be looking for?

You can really just sneak behind them, aim your weapon and they will submit. Also you can simply kick them to wake them up by pressing R2/RT near them.

It's weird, but the story and gameplay don't really intertwine like in previous games, so you'd probably be right.

There's the story, then there's the missions you do which (most of the time) have very little to do with the progression of the plot. So they are almost two separate entities, most of the time.

The cassettes sort of work. I find them to be lore dumps, though. I don't feel like I'm being told something pertinent to my understand of the story now, it feels like wading through things that happened and the narrative coming together like a puzzle. But both approaches work.

Is there any way to get a helicopter to pick me up and take me elsewhere on the map without going to the aerial operating base? It'd be so much quicker for side missions.

Yeah but I found out by making them sleep you can interrogate more than 1 very easily without worrying about being spotted. This way you are always sure to interrogate.

Um...mission 4 spoilers. You're supposed to
tranq DD right? Because after I did it, Miller's all like, "WHAT'S GOTTEN INTO YOU!?"
