Anyone annoyed they felt the need to explain The Cobra Unit's powers in this game? I don't understand why he feels the need to explain all the supernatural stuff away has science mumbo jumbo when you've got Psycho Mantis and The Sorrow doing their thing.

I think he was like "oh parasites! that works as an explanation" and threw it in there.

I thought it was a neat touch since Quiet and Codetalker had the same characteristics as The End which is what CT used to experiment/research on.

Apparently reading lines with zero expression, if that fancy facial capture technology was used.

That video of Kiefer doing the Snake faces was funny but seems very rarely used.
I think it's more like he was making expressions that didn't translate as well as possible to the character. Aside from Huey, it seems that none of the characters have faces that wrinkle up realistically like characters in other more recent games. Look at the way Big Boss's mouth moves. The majority of the time it looks like that when he talks, it could be because his model doesn't look like Kiefer.

I can't believe he found a way to bring back nanomachines again, as parasites this time.

So why did Kojima say I'd feel guilty about Quiet being hot? I'm not gonna play the game but I am kinda curious about that.

Sometimes I feel like the only one who enjoyed the aspect of how language was used in the game with touches of horror, totally reminded me of The Thing.

Oh but I find the language thing clever. As a non-English-native I find the theme especially interesting as English replaced my mother tongue for a lot of things I do everyday.

It's actually the only clever part of this game's plot.

Tho, I theorize that the plot probably was MGS Rising initial plot, with volgin and a menace that befit more nanomachines than parasites.

I like most of the supernatural and strange things in the game, but I hate his explanations for them.
I felt the same way about nanomachines in MGS4.

But The End doesn't walk around in a bikini.

If only BB burned his body and he escaped thus living so he could use the parasites for his entire body, then we would have seen him and Quiet in bikinis!!1 *cue the fan arts*

I thought it was a neat touch/reference. I'm a sucker for callbacks to old games I guess.

YAAAS. Exactly this, it made me think about languages in a way I never did, mixed in with this unidentifiable infection like The Thing made me enjoy it alot.

I thought the discussion of dominant languages slowly extinguishing others, and with them, different cultures and ways of thinking, was very well handled. It's definitely the best theme that the game tackles.

I like all the Code Talker and Skull Face stuff in the game. The original concepts and themes the game has are really well done, it's only when you try to insert the MGS timeline and characters into it that it gets all fuzzy.

So I uh... killed Quiet. How much does the game change?

lmao, you can kill her? I was waiting for someone that does. What exactly happens?

Edit: I had it in my mind that even if you shot, she'll just counter or some shit till VS CQC's her ass down and brings her to MB.

How do I get the MGS1 skin?

GZ save transfer.

Anyone know where to find wild S Rank soldiers? Best I can find are A+.

I'd like to know as well but I bet they're just randomized and rare as shit.

Make sure to listen to all the conversations in yellow text, i had to listen all of them for mission 46 to unlock.

No need to literally listen to all of them, simple select them, start them and cancel, it will count.

That's weird, I didn't have to. It just unlocks after you've done enough missions.

I had everything done, spent all day doing side ops and replaying some missions for S ranks until i saw a reddit comment suggesting the tapes thing.

I did it and it automatically unlocked.

So it seems like most people are like Miller...angry at Big Boss. I'm more like Ocelot who thought the twist was cool. Now we have to use our imaginations of BB building Outer Haven and fighting Solid Snake kn HD :(. Oh well, salute to the best gaming series ever.

I don't mind the twist that big boss was a mind clone.. but the revelation itself was pretty out of the blue. Just a random mission I did after a random side op with no build up, no cause to even find out this truth. It just sorta happened for no reason. No one told him or gave him reason to suspect he wasn't who he thought he was from what I saw.

Well, Keifer was talking to the MC throughout the hospital escape which was a little bit weird.

I dont really see the love for Quiet. After seeing her murder the nurse and doctor I knew I'd off her the first chance I got.

As a character I think she kind of sucks, like most characters in the game. I just want her sniping support during gameplay, because now I gotta carry my own sniper rifle so that weapon slot is never an option anymore.

No idea what shinjiro is but aeris didn't negatively affect gameplay.

No, you lose her awesome Limit Break that gives you invincibility. That negatively affects gameplay to some degree.

Questions: Solid Snake kills Phantom Big Boss in MG1, does this Big Boss live to fight on in MG2:SS? Or is that the real Big Boss?

Real BB in MG2.

I hope there's DLC for MG1 remake.

Just got to Quiets ending mission.

Holy shit that cutscene at the start. Those dicks got stabbed in the dicks. I felt the phantom pain right there for sure.

Reading Kojima's insights on the game in the artwork gallery in the collectors guide is interesting. So sad this is the last MGS game we'll play :(. No more fan theories, no more hype, no more kojima mind games, it's over :(.

PROTIP FOR KILLING THE SKULLS

Since a lot of people are having trouble with them, here is a easy way to kill and extract them. This doesn't work for the sniper skulls. (You can run from them)

..
..
..

When the battle begins run to a roof and equip the rocket launcher and shoot them from there. They rarely go upstairs, and if they go just run around until they go down again. You can win faster if you call the chopper for support missiles, because they move in the same pattern the most of the time.
It's the best way to kill them for normal and extreme difficulties.

I hope someone can answer this...

The scene in the trailers where it's all black and smokey behind BB....he screams up and you can see his breath....I never saw that in the game - did I miss something?

Another one from the trailers too that I never saw was when you see his face full on soaked in blood with the horn huge and fire in behind him.....never saw that either.

Did I miss cutscenes?

The best and most fun way to fight the Skulls is to skate around in a fully-armored D-Walker, equipped with the Gatling Gun and extended ammo. 1500 rounds is enough for all 4 :)
