Also, I really was like "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK" when Code Talker explained his bacteria transformed the male parasites into females and induced changes in the host.

For a moment, I was expecting for the whole "Farewell sausage" theory to be true

I'd rather take this than the actual plot Twist lolilol

HEY YO WAIT

WAIT

HOLD UP THE PHONE

Meryl in MGS 1 says that she was giving psychotherapy to destroy her interest in men.

........THIS WHOLE HYPNOTHERAPY CRAP HAS BEEN IN THE SERIES SINCE MGS1.
It clearly didn't work if you saved Meryl. She and Snake go back to hitting it off.
I don't get the bolded part.
I have the subtitles on so whenever characters talk they don't present the dialogue in parenthesis. I found it interesting when VS says Docoter Emmerich it was in parenthesis as if they had never met and wanted to confirm it. Also Huey having a confused reaction to VS was an obvious clue.

I just find it weird that they didn't address anything on the third Big Boss. I mean, they even have his song in the game.

Zanzibar Land is MG2. That's what the real Big Boss went off to do.

Edit:

At least I thought, but maybe you're right and Big Boss set up both just to put Phantom Ganon in charge of one.

I though it was Zanzibar too, and Diamond Dogs turned into Outer Heaven because that's what Venom thought it was.

Man I disagree. It's horrifically paced. First ten minutes you're a guy strapped to a bed. Next 10 minutes consist of pseudo-gameplay of just pressing forward. Then it becomes a tutorial for the next 20 minutes.

I didn't mind the gameplay part of it, but in terms of what was going on in that opening was amazing I thought.

He's in the game, but you wouldn't recognize him because he looks like this now. He also got facial reconstruction to protect his identity. He's in the room across the hall from Big Boss and Venom, but gets killed in the hallway massacre while trying to escape.

I know what he's doing. He's building Zanzibar Land.

But what happened with the whole "let's fight together against our enemies"? Big Boss was not the type of character that would use his soldiers like that. Gene was that character. Gene was the type of commander that Big Boss was not, and that's the whole point.

Big Boss in MG2:SS cared about his soldiers He gave them a nation to live and fight willingly.

In MGSV, the same Big Boss not only fools them, but actually leaves them to fight under the command of a decoy, turning them into a gigantic target while he worked in the shadows.

So much bullshit.

I agree with this so much. It's so unfitting of his character.

You know another thing? Hayter was awful in PW but why not let him voice BB in GZ and this game? He would have about 10 minutes of speech at the most. I'm sure Kojima could have came up with a plausible excuse for why Venom was voiced by Sutherland. E.G Coma changing voice, Hayter's only returning in GZ for a transition point, 10 years older and awakens with new personality needs voice to express it, speaks less so needed Kiefer's acting. Then Ismail's voice could have just sounded different for the prologue. Have BB say in the tapes that he'll alter his voice so he won't confuse V.

I'd rather that than BB having the exact same voice as a random medic, even before his transition to V.

He has been dead for 20 years and was riding a unicorn yet your question is why he was on fire.

I don't know maybe Mantis or parasites. Or his pure rage.

He didn't die, he was comatose after Snake Eater. Then he was experimented on. Then Mantis reanimated him upon getting close to him and feeling his thirst for revenge.

He used a Flame Tablet or something and switched from Electric to Fire Type

Is anyone else conflicted after beating this game? The game is a lot of fun but between the ever-present lack of narrative, endless 90 second chopper zoom to V's first-person perspective, and continual resource grind, I don't feel the desire to replay/S-Rank missions. All the side-ops take forever to get to by land and I don't want to see Snake jump out of the helicopter time and time again.

Hell, the upgrading in this game feels broken. A lot of them don't seem to do anything other than slight damage boost and it's quite upsetting. At least Peace Walker had damage numbers and ridiculous FFXII style giant life bars so you could see your powerful weapons taking effect. It's not here at all.

I love the game's mechanics and it feels exceptional but all the periphery shit is a turn off.

Sokolov: survived being beaten to death with fake death pill (Portable Ops)
Volgin: survived being shot to death by his own bullets and cooked by lightning, was in a coma
Big Boss: survived explosion but was in a coma, then faked death with a body double, then survived being immolated but went into a second coma and was revived with clone parts
Gray Fox: survived being blown up by a mine, went into a coma and was revived with a robot suit
Madnar: survived being shot by remote control missiles, is alive because ???
Liquid: lived on, through this arm (for a single game before being replaced)
Solidus: survived having his spine severed by Raiden, was just in a coma
Mantis: somehow his psychic powers were in nanomachines or something

am i missing any of the coma/resurrected crew. i'm not counting the boss ai.

ANOTHER god damn coma.

So we have

Grey Fox - 1999-2005
Big Boss - 1975-198X
Big Boss - 1999-2014
Volgin - 1964-1984
Venom - 1975-1984
Zero - 1977-2014 (The Champion!)
Solidus - 2009-2014
The Boss - 1943 (when she gave birth, lasted 6 months)

If we can just remember 2 more we will be in double digits!

The question has to be asked I guess:

Did Myazaki out-Kojima Kojima with Bloodborne? Is Bloodborne what most of us thought MGSV would be story-wise?

The M16 knockoff(MRS-4 one down tier)

So my game is screwed because my Fulton failed on the first legendary gunsmith.

Pretty sure I already told you that you can replay side ops if that area is free.

No idea where you're coming from with this. They seem pretty incomparable to me.

Talking about The Boss AI, its a shame the mammal pot didn't really went anywhere either, was expecting it to be a big deal on the story.

It's on the R&D platform btw, you can go and see it, it'll call you Jack if you get close.

Honestly with how Mr.Medic is supposed to be BB's best man he might as well have been Gray Fox, they both occupy the space of being his best soldier

ugh can't believe I said that, absolutelydisgusting.jpg

Easy way to explain someone being inactive for a long period and then reemerging.

Yeah. God forbid the characters were doing something relevant during that time. Because writing is hard.

I'm actually surprised that MGS4 didn't claim that EVA was also in a coma or something....

yeah but then Kojima can't use him to explain anything in the MSX games because Grey Fox infiltrated Outer Heaven, was captured, and then helped Solid Snake before disappearing (not into a coma), unless he says there's 2 Grey Foxes.

What an ending. I hate how it makes sense in the twisted logic of the series.

Finished the game and did all ten Paz memento missions, but I didn't get any payoff cutscene. Anyone have any idea why? Every time I visit her room, she's reading Galvez's book, drops it on the floor, and I can give it back to her, but that's it.

There's one last photo in the hallway outside her room just by the door near the exit. It's stuck to the wall.
