Can we just post the H town principle?
Can we just post the H town principle?
Well I mean, did the police call him a "nigger" at any point? If not can you really argue it was racism? Even if they did say "nigger" they just wanted to say the most upsetting thing they could say in the heat of the moment, that doesn't prove racism, just that they're human and make mistakes.
How about we stop this war on the police and focus on the bigger issues like the black on black violence.
Also acceptableHis fault, he probably didn't stare at the cop and the cop went into fight or flight mode.
Already happened, Monica..Can we just post the H town principle?

The list has since been condensed into just "don't be black. "
Hey CPP, I posted it in the last page but you never responded to it, but what do you think about this other events also involving the fraud task force?

It's not ok! I agree with you on that. But why the fuck is this about race? It's about the fact they tackled a guy without making sure it was the right guy first. Not a black guy. Just a guy
You can be the poshest of black people and still get beat down for no reason. This sets a precedence, we're just not safe walking down the street anymore
Stuff
In any case, I don't think it's wise to cry wolf unless there's real evidence of a wolf, because eventually people are going to stop listening.
(which omits many details obviously, since it is not an official police report)
Ugh, this is pointless, nice way to include the war on police in there tho.
About 12 years ago I was personally stopped at Barneys after buying a $1200 pair of shoes. I was dressed like shit, young, and didn't look anything like the rest of the clientele in the store, so I always chalked it up to that. I don't know if you'll even find this relevant, but the point is that I have no doubt profiling happens sometimes and it sucks to be on the receiving end of it.
In the Blake case, according to the original article (which omits many details obviously, since it is not an official police report), two people identified James as the actual suspect. Not someone who looked like the suspect, but the actual suspect. Someone pointed at Blake and said that's the guy. So I mean, I don't know. This specific case doesn't sound like a race thing to me.
And again, they shouldn't have just walked up and blindsided him, that was pretty weird. But I think there's just as much harm in jumping to false conclusions as there is in allowing the racism to continue.
In a classic study on race, psychologists staged an experiment with two photographs that produced a surprising result.
They showed people a photograph of two white men fighting, one unarmed and another holding a knife. Then they showed another photograph, this one of a white man with a knife fighting an unarmed African-American man.
When they asked people to identify the man who was armed in the first picture, most people picked the right one. Yet when they were asked the same question about the second photo, most people -- black and white -- incorrectly said the black man had the knife.
But here's why such conversations rarely go anywhere: Whites and racial minorities speak a different language when they talk about racism, scholars and psychologists say.
The knife fight experiment hints at the language gap. Some whites confine racism to intentional displays of racial hostility. It's the Ku Klux Klan, racial slurs in public, something "bad" that people do.
But for many racial minorities, that type of racism doesn't matter as much anymore, some scholars say. They talk more about the racism uncovered in the knife fight photos -- it doesn't wear a hood, but it causes unsuspecting people to see the world through a racially biased lens.
It's what one Duke University sociologist calls "racism without racists." Eduardo Bonilla-Silva, who's written a book by that title, says it's a new way of maintaining white domination in places like Ferguson.
"The main problem nowadays is not the folks with the hoods, but the folks dressed in suits," says Bonilla-Silva.
"The more we assume that the problem of racism is limited to the Klan, the birthers, the tea party or to the Republican Party, the less we understand that racial domination is a collective process and we are all in this game."
The court of public opinion is dangerous. In the past month or two racial violence has heated up quite a bit, some against cops, some against reporters, but all for no reason. And all of this is fueled by the court of public opinion.
In any case, I don't think it's wise to cry wolf unless there's real evidence of a wolf, because eventually people are going to stop listening.
To be clear: you think that the occasional false positive when talking about what is or isn't racist is just as bad as unequal treatment of human beings based on skin color? But I think there's just as much harm in jumping to false conclusions as there is in allowing the racism to continue.
because yet again it happens to a person of color.
This shit doesn't happen to white people. Even that McDonalds video the other day, they tried to tase him and asked him to get down before they tackled him.
Also NYPD is told to racial profile but sure, it's not a race issue.
Does that not give you even a moment's pause? Not even an instant where you go "wait, what if there are other things in this area where I am lacking knowledge"?
Served
Ugh, this is pointless and yes your story that might be a fabrication means nothing, nice way to include the war on police in there tho.
John McEnroe was arrested in an episode of CSI New York becuase of mistaken identity.
Why do you suppose it might be the case now that you hear about black people being killed by police? Was it the case two years ago? What do you think might have changed between then and now?I posted a video earlier of a white person getting killed by cops for no reason. So yes, it does. Does it happen as often? Probably not, but then again you never hear about them either. You didn't hear about this one, that's for sure, I only found it randomly while browsing YouTube a few days ago.
Ok. How many times have you seen a case like this, waited for evidence, and then later concluded it was racism all along?Yes, it does. And when I realize I'm lacking knowledge about something, my reaction is not to jump to conclusions, it's to not jump to conclusions. I think it would be great if everyone else had the same philosophy.
...tbh I wouldn't have thought this guy is black... o.o
He looks like a tan white person.
Guess the cops are better at determining race than me lol.
LolThank god he shaved his had, he might have caught 54 to the chest with these

But it is a class and economic issue /s
I gotta admit I laughed hard at this.I think it would be great if everyone else had the same philosophy, when they're missing some of the facts.
Did you really expected a different outcome from him?

I'm gonna assume you're an idiot and tackle you right hereSo you admit you're making an assumption. Ok
This assumes that the justice system is working as intended - when it clearly is not. Hence the reaction you are getting.

What does this have to do with race? Cops thought the person matched the description of a suspect, and so they did what they did? Do we have evidence suggesting the description of the suspect was "Black male" with no additional detail, so they just tackled a random black person? This shit is getting out of control, any time happens to anyone who is black all of a sudden it's a race issue without even finding out what the context of the situation was and why they targeted the person.
It reminds me of that black actress who was having public sex in a car, and she got arrested for it and made it a race thing. It's like what the fuck?
I mean sure it was a mistake in this case, but are the only cases of mistaken identity which are allowed going to be mistaken identity of white people? This shit is so confusing to me.
I'm gonna assume you're an idiot and tackle you right here
I know you're banned but I also know you're still reading this and I just wanted to tell you that you're not really cut out for this whole "thinking" and "thoughts" thing and perhaps you should give it up.
Shouldn't have admitted this..As someone who was recently banned, I gotta say it's so frustrating when people continue to engage you when you can't respond. Can't even PM them. Gave me phantom limb pain.

Yeah, some.
Sits next to his Cards Against Humanity deck..i get it now. they actually play a race card game, somewhere, these people. He actually brought up that actress having sex in the park as a response to this. He literally has a deck of Race Battle cards. I'm convinced.
Exactly..😕Famous people should never be stopped by police.
