He was also 1st place at EVO 2015, so I wouldn't read too much into it. Capcom likely just wanted to get one of the best USF4 players out there.

I think that only applies to someone like Juri and Sagat. There's no reason to differentiate characters like Alex and Urien from the portion of characters "you haven't seen in a while."

I don't know why you guys are thinking so much about this. I am sure its going to be cody. Which is ok i guess? Guile,remy or Q should have been in there or even sagat. but oh well. another so-so choice by capcom. They are on a streak since vega.

I wouldn't be classifying Alex and Urien as characters you'd expect to see.... outside of the SF2 cast someone like Sak is who that would apply to far more than anyone from SF3....
Ibuki, Makoto, Yun and Juri confirmed as well.
Still don't know why people want to link Momochi to Cody all the time, he's probably used Ken 10x as much as Cody and that's not even counting the times he mained him in Super (after Ibuki, before Cody) and AE (after Makoto and before Yun)
Yeah we get it no one else really uses Cody but he's prob played him for like 10% of his SFIV life at best....

I don't think Area was bad but I don't think she fits the aesthetics for SF5 at all. Worked in EX with some of it's crazy stuff though.
I'm not sure if I'd be more against Seth, Rufus or Fuerte returning, but those 3 are dead last out of all SF characters and everything connected to them.
I'd take Sawada or Alexander the Grater over them in a heartbeat.
