The two remaining new characters are from Brazil and India. The India one is probably named Zen.

Siliconera also said a while ago that Mika, Karin, Urien, and Alex would be in. But we don't know if they'll be on the base roster like Mika or early DLC or what.

Ken Bogard is well-known in the french VS fighting community. He's a fighting games commentator and also has a weekly show about VS Fighting on french Web TV "Gaming Live". He apparently has a source at Capcom. All the infos he had in the past turned out to be true and he's not the kind of guy who spread out ridiculous rumors.

So take the following as you want GAF, but I'm 100% trusting that dude.

He also has a weekly "shiny hunting" Pokemon show on that web tv. So on his December 5th Show, while playing, he talked a lot about Street Fighter V. He said he knew stuff and that he'll discretely drop hints during the show. Here's what he said:

- Street Fighter V won't have "Super" or "Hyper" editions. Just updates. He doesn't know if these updates will be free or DLC and does not know if they'll be balancing updates or will add characters and stages.
- The number of characters in the starting roster will be between SFIII and SF IV. He knows the number but not the returning cast.
- There'll be 4 new characters and he knows 3 of them.
- Focus Attacks won't return.
- It'll be released in 2016 and that the month is easy to guess. (He said to think about japanese fiscal years).

Then he dropped some interesting clues. He usually nicknames his Pokemon with stupid joke names but not this time.

3 of his pokemons were nicknamed

- Rachid
- Zen
- Laura

We can assume these are the 3 new fighters he knows about. He also kept mentioning 3 places in the world and he said "there was a reason": Brasil, Africa and India. We can assume Rachid is from Africa, Zen will be from India and Laura from Brasil.

He also named another Pokemon "V-Trigger" which is probably the name of the new SFV mechanic.

So, you know everything. I repeat, I think we can 100% trust Ken Bogard but don't forget either: we're still early in development, things can change.

tl;dr: RUMOR (which I believe is true) French VS fighting commentator seems to have info about SFV. Launch date 2016. No new versions, just updates. 4 new characters: Rachid (Africa), Zen (India), Laura (Brasil) and one more. New mechanic called V-trigger.

Also with the new reveal Rashid is not necessarily from North Africa, but I am looking forward to the new North Africa stage :3

lol yeah the weird persicope angle and the roll he did which i mistook for her slide in the beginning caught me. However he looks interesting may use him in her stead if Sakura doesn't show up.

Nah I don't believe so. I think that the Ken Bogard leak only 3 of the new characters. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct. Three names and where they're from.
Siliconera reported that Mika, Karin, Alex and Urien are in the game. 2 different leaks.

Matt Dahlgren did another interview on the roster at GameStop Expo 2015. In here, Matt didn't specifically say "classic" in the discussion. He instead said "characters you'd expect to see in SF". So that means really popular and recognizable faces along the lines of Cammy. It doesn't specifically allude to "classics" or "SF2" characters, although said inference can still be made by the "characters you'd expect to see" part. This would also open up the chance for Alex, Urien, Juri, Cody, etc. to get in the game due to the lessened emphasis on the term "classic".

Ok, yeah. I just watched the part of the interview again just to pay closer attention to the wording. (around 4:14 mark). He said they brought back 8 characters which are "kind of like your most known" SF characters. So yeah, maybe so.
 
That means we're gonna get a new Indian character in addition to a Brazilian and an Arab.

Fuck yeah brown people.

There are Arabic countries in North Africa. And the New Zealand rumor was separate from Ken Bogard.

Rashid looks more like he's from the Gulf region than North Africa, but best to wait and see.

Now for TGS and for the Queen of Fighters to make her return!

Looks like an interesting character. What I don't understand is, why Capcom aren't showing us more of the stages. We have only seen one stage in its entirety, 2 half done stages and only pictures from the 4th stage. Seeing new characters being revealed on the same 3 stages is really dampening the effect of these reveals.

They're probably saving the Brazil stage for Laura, & (if he's in the game) the Illuminati half of Forgotten Waterfall for Urien. As for the rest, who knows. Maybe they could be considered spoilers for the story.
 
Shaheen is such a better character than this. Crowd didn't sound so amused for this reveal. Rashid still looks cool to me though. I'm just not feeling the jet pack.
