I bet the final boss will be Bison harnessing Necalli's v-trigger power or something really anime like that. Bison's win quote against Necalli implies that Necalli is a part of his "plan".

So was Seth but Bison still wasn't the boss in 4

Dictator is basically Eggman-tier these days. Doesn't actually do anything directly, it's his experiments going on rampages that do the dirty work.

To tell you the truth I never paid much attention to the leak list to begin with. The last time I sort of followed one was with Super Smash Bros. 4 and I think most on that list didn't end up being on the game though guessing Wii Fit Trainer was quite a feat because she was on no one's mind.

That was wrong. If you are talking about a list of Little Mac, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Mii, Pac Man and Mega Man. All 6 characters got in the game.

Second batch of leak came out about 6-8 months later: It was right about Greninja (Pokemon X/Y), Palutena and Shulk. With small amount of evidences that Chorus Men was planned to be in the game but got cut at last minute or so. Situation with Chrom is just too complication for me to explain here.

Hm, I hope Urien is a mid-boss while Gill is the non-playable end-boss (at first, but with Fight Moneyz or microtransaction you can unlock him).

RESURRECTION!!!

True, but if I recall correctly, Ken Bogard said that the story is about the fall of shadaloo. I'd imagine Bison would be the final boss in some way if this is the case.

Final battle with Bison, after the first round Necalli shows up in VT form and rips him in half, donezo

The story is actually about Shadaloo going bankrupt and M. Bison being forced into running a food truck to make ends meet. Birdie throws a wrench in his plans by threatening to write a poor review.

Balrog bankrupted shadaloo after Bison died, so they beat you to it.

Notwithstanding all the attention on the Siliconera list, I'd be kinda surprised if Akuma isn't part of the starting roster. I don't think there's any question as to his popularity/recognition amongst both the dedicated & casual playerbase alike.

One could make the argument that he'd sell gangbusters as DLC, but seeing as how this game still isn't fully ala carte like KI or DOA5, & people will need to shell out for that $60 disc/full game before they can even think of purchasing Akuma, it'd be like putting the cart before the horse. I'm sure there'd be some sitting on-the-fence that would be ultimately won over, but they (Capcom) would also have to work harder to get the message out as opposed to riding the pre-launch hoopla. Seems like a big gamble.

Then again, maybe they feel the game has garnered enough positive reception thus far & don't need him to sweeten the pot.

This isn't a thinly veiled wish for the character; I don't even really like him :p Just trying to look at this from a more casual/passing-fancy perspective.

I think Akuma is definately first in line for DLC if he isnt in the starting roster.

I know I'm literally alone on this one.

Would totally be ok, if the canon was akuma just turned into Oni and he's just oni now.

Homeboy had mid air Demons.

TGS is such a huge event. It would be really weird if they don't announce a character there

The website says they will announce a character it just doesn't say what day during TGS. People think it will be on the 20th because they think Momochi "introducing" the new character on stage (for capcomtv) means he will be part of the reveal, but that's not the case. He "introduced" Ken in late July on capcomtv when Ken was actually revealed in early July at Comic Con. To introduce in that context is just to demo the character so the audience can get a feel for the character.

edit: To be clear, I'm not saying they won't introduce the new character on the 20th. Momochi may very well be part of the character reveal on the 20th. I'm just saying that they in the past used "introduction" to mean demo so it doesn't automatically mean he will be part of the reveal.

hahahaah damn I'm completely out of the loop, thanks for the tl;dr;

no that's tonight in america, 11hrs from now

Tonight?! Damn, had no idea, there was a article on EH saying saturday night would be the presentation, but it's probably just Momochi showing off the new character, like KidA said earlier

I've been considering the likelihood of Akuma being in the starting roster after Matt's comments. When I think of characters that I'd expect to be in a SF game, the four that come to mind are Ryu, Chun Li, Ken, and Akuma.

I initially thought he was one of the few definite shoe-ins, but the no clones talk, ken's reveal, and the siliconeria rumors made me stray away from that initial thought. I know he's not really a clone, I just thought they'd refrain from putting too many shotos in the starting roster. I expected at most two. but I'm beginning to reconsider that. We'll see.

I'm going with bison using necalli power and becoming super evil bison whose finally killed. With Urien being behind the scenes. Also wanna say q will be spotted in the back of some stages watching.

I think it's time for a BOOM! character announcement.

R. Mika was the closest thing to a BOOM!, but it wasn't since there was not much people that cared about her till then.

I really wonder how much the design of Karin is gonna change in terms of aesthetic and even fighting style; that's assuming she gets announced tonight. Will be awesome either way. We still have no idea where this game falls timeline wise right?

One of the capcom UK guys said after 4 before 3.

Timeline wise, this is supposed to fall between part 4 and part 3. R. Mika didn't change at all, so going to assume Karin won't either...although I do like the changes made to Nash and Bison, so I kinda wish they would...

It's either before 3 or they retconned stuff because in 3 Chun-Li had retired from the police force and in 5 she's still a police officer.

Although I guess she retired before 4 and came back so who knows?

Edit: The people above me. That's who knows.

Here is an evidence if anyone care enough about it.

Ono will come out dressed as Karin's butler and get hit in the face by a tray.
