Destiny - The Taken King |OT| Time to Explain

Guys I want to be home playing and I'm stuck at work. Destiny needs me! All these positive impressions, it sounds like Destiny is finally the game it was meant to be.

God I am loving this so far and just on a whim I discovered I can wield both an armor and weapon exotic. SON OF A BITCH, this is love!!!!

Loving the new armor as well and that Suros Pulse Rifle with exploding after affect is a thing of beauty.

so uhh... I bought destiny day one and turned it in one week later. I imagine if I picked it up again it would be a very much different experience? hopefully an enjoyable one

Damnit the positive impressions make me want this game but I would kinda rather play my backlog and very soon the Uncharted Collection. Shit shit shit

Where are the Taken Champions?

Do they spawn randomly like public events?
Yes, taken start appearing, kill them and then 3 lieutenants spawn, after you kill those 3 a champion will appear. Get a buddy to help since its pretty hard to solo if at the moment.

More interesting Dreadnaught stuff

I found something called a wormsingers rune. Found a place to put it near the breach. It summoned tons of hive and a named Ogre. Ogre dropped wormfeeders rune.

Are they no good?

Really looking forward to playing this. Seems like a lot of content, and improved narrative/mission structure. I'm in.

Pretty much the least favorite strikes for most people. They aren't BAD, per se, but they aren't good, haha. Lot of folks would back out and go to orbit when they came in the rotation.

Liking the new story missions, but the Fallen are doing nothing for me as a new enemy type. They're pretty boring and one note.

So is there any reason for Ascendant Shards and the like anymore?

I want to know too... I don't spot any Year 1 gear in my inventory that need them, I don't think... maybe in my vault.

Should I even keep them? Or trade them to speaker for Motes of Light?

Bungie revamped both PS strikes, they are MUCH better now.

I've downloaded the 18gb one already there's another one and it's just stuck on Preparing to Download, tried deleting it and redownloading but it keeps getting stuck.

That one is something like 100meg. Couldn't believe how long it took to download via PSN. Don't stop it when it's on the preparing message. It's actually downloading.

I was stuck there for 15 minutes today. Apparently it takes some time to make sure you have all the right data, then downloads. Once it goes, it takes a few seconds, as it's a 10 meg file. Just be patient.

There is a cut-scene at the starting and a few during the stories and better voice overs than normal in the story mode which explain about what you would expect in a normal game that wasn't Destiny.

One thing to do is NOT expect it to be amazing, its not. Its what Destiny 1 should have delivered. A competent story within the confines of some gameplay.

It can feel amazing but that's just because Destiny failed so damn hard it was like a damned meteorite of suck boring into the earth.

Well when it comes to story I am very easy to please. I LOVE Halo's story and I liked a lot of the ideas behind Destiny. It wasn't that the story was bad, it was nonexistent. So some semblance of a story will be enough.

Pretty crazy that the characters I've seen almost every day for the past year finally have memorable names and personalities after just a couple story missions.

Even the Veteran's Tour fleshed out most of them a bit with in reflection on year one.

I honestly enjoyed the VT more than anything in the game for some reason. I liked it a lot.

You could always have 1x exotic weapon and 1x exotic armor equipped.

Isn't that INSANE???

I love this friggin game

Nearly had a cow just now lol... Went to Gamestop to pick up my TTK CE and they're like... "We've got some bad news.... They shipped us one short. But we can give you the regular edition until the collectors comes in and then we can exchange it blah blah blah..."

And I said... "Nah..... Can you just cancel the order and refund me? I'll order it digitally when I get home." And not to be deterred of a sale, he offers, "...oh! Well we can sell you the digital version right here!!"

So I'm like okay. Cool. Didn't know you guys did digital orders. And he smiles as he repeats out loud what he's typing... "okay great, one ps4 destiny collectors edition coming right up."

Time slowed down.

I laughed out loud...literally. "No ps4 sir. Xbox one."

And he got really red and was suddenly super apologetic... "Ohhhhhhhhhh shit man, scratch eeeeverything I just said. We've got a Xbox one copy here."

Fucking Gamestop lol

I have been getting all of my ducks in a row for this to drop for about two weeks.

For each character I :
Completed all 16 bounties.
Edged at least 2 factions and cryptarch.
Got at least 3 focused lights.

I played last night (got up at 3AM) downloaded the "small" update that took me 40 minutes and got to level 40 after about an hour.

Played through the first few missions and used a Focused Light. Right after I unlocked the storm caller I went to the tower, took another Focused Light, equipped all my unleveled items and turned in the 16 bounties. Got to level 40 and was a cm away from getting to the next "level" after 40. Got my new stuff from the post master and I was happy. I have all new TTK gear on my warlock except for the gauntlets.

Have to go do this with my other characters when I get home. This game feels different but in a very good way. So excited for the raid :)

I have a level 28-30 range Warlock from when I last played Destiny about 10 months ago, he's got a bunch of exotic weapons and gear on him, too.

However I'm curious to see all the changes to the game, and re-learn some stuff I'm sure I've forgotten. Would you guys recommend rolling a new character for TTK? Just leveling back up to where I was, or am I right to just jump back on that old character? Gear is transferable (I think?) so if I were to level a new character all that gear would theoretically be waiting for me when I caught up, so that's a non-issue, I kind of want to see that old version of Destiny revamped. I never played the first two expansions either, for the record.
