If it's the one I worked on for hours, it's fucking long.
Where did you obtain it - and what does it require?
I don't think its the "Crucible quest line" you get from Shaxx - Unless I'm wrong of course?

I'm very interested to hear about peoples experiences of the base game post expansion.
Any way to redesign your character?

You mean if you didn't buy TTK?
I haven't got my copy yet, so I feel like there's suddenly very, very little do do.
I have a level 34 Guardian who can now only go and do the bottom, level 20 gear strikes and get kit that's no better than Year 1 as a result.
Yes, I can do some quests, but they're ultimately just bounties with slightly nicer presentation. PVP feels as completely unbalanced as it ever did.
And I'm sure Bungie want me to buy TTK. But I don't think the hard content wall they've got going is the way.
So, Destiny is basically a paid subscription game in disguise?

Yes. Also, the entire catalog of every franchise ever.

No, not afaik.

they've been locking things down on people who dont buy the newest dlc since the first dlc.
If Destiny is a subscription service in disguise, then so is Halo, Uncharted, Metal Gear, and any other game that continues to push new titles and content to a persistent universe and/or lore structure.

I'm still sour that they added in engram rewards for strikes shortly after destiny launched only to pull them away and lock the engram rewards behind the first DLC, strikes for non DLC owners suddenly became completely unrewarding. You mean if you didn't buy TTK?

That's the same answer more or less, if you didn't edit out the rest of his comment lol.
Except for the rest of his post where he states he doesn't think it's a subscription service.
I'm loving the anchors.
Smoke grenade is meh, I'm with you on that. But otherwise I think it's an awesome subclass. Not as flashy as the other new ones though, but we already had bladedancer.

Yea because we pay $10-15 every month...oh wait.
You are reaching here when you say that. There are no microtransactions in the game, there is a steady influx of content and updates (Destiny is the most frequently updated console tittle that isn't based on F2P microtransaction mechanic). And yet people are unhappy that they charge for their DLC.
How do you determine a content's worth ? If it's the number of hours player then the game should be more expensive than most considering by the time you finish everything you'll have spent hundreds of hours.
Is this a common thing they do when they bring out new content?

Just to be sure, if I bought the standard edition last year and sold it, I'd need to get the legendary edition yes? Would I have to play thru the other two expansions to play TTK content?
I'm trying to figure out if it's worth jumping back in if I'm mostly gonna be playing SP and the odd strike.

Destiny is any MMO that gets an expansion, and not even in disguise. The only people who continued to play pure vanilla World of Warcraft after first expansions came out were nutjobs and eccentrics. These games are designed inherently in this way and is clear to anyone who's ever played an MMO. And Destiny is an MMO no matter how hard some people try to say it's not.
If you look at it, it sorta is.
You pay a set amount broken up over 3 times a year. If you don't you start losing access to features. Sounds like a paid subscription to me.
To those comparing it to Halo/COD, its not really the same. You can still do everything you normally do in COD/Halo without the DLC. With Destiny you can't. A better comparison is to MMO games where if you dont buy DLC you get locked out of stuff.
Smoke grenades are very situational. The "Vanish is Smoke" perk makes them very good. Being able to go invisible can be the difference between wiping or winning in PvE. As the PvE meta changed over the course of the year the one thing that stayed constant was the importance of a Bladedancers invisibility. Sword bearing on Crota, disabling mines in Skolas, getting clutch revives in the Nightfalls and Raids. Now with smoke grenades you can make your entire fire team invisible instead of just yourself. If played the right way the Nightstalker class is going to be absolutely amazing in higher level PvE content.
Can you infuse items multiple times? So you buff an armour piece once for example, can you "overwrite" that infusion with another item with a higher defence rating at a later date?
I agree with this.
Destiny is the kind of game (usually MMOs) where the community goes with the new content and people who don't want to pick it up are left behind.
It's how it works and complaining about it might be something people like to do, but it's how these things have always worked.
It's like people complaining about cars when they want to ride a carriage still.
I think it's perfectly acceptable to have paid expansions that give new content, and expect to only be able to play that if you upgrade. And the comparisons to MMOs in this regard as spot on.
The trouble with this comparison is when you see content that was previously available suddenly being locked behind the new expansion. I don't even think most MMO's do that.
Uh guys....is it true you can infuse stuff with blues and not just legendaries?????

Cause that basically just changed the entire "omg my legendary marks" game.
Guys whats the fastest way to level up a subclass.
Got TTK yesterday, made a hunter and used the buff to get to level 25. I already had a warlock and titan.
Both subclasses of warlock were maxed out. Have a bit to do for defender subclass for titan.
Want to max out the hunter subclasses so i can start on the new ones.
Haven't done any missions on TTK yet there's so much to do, i'm a bit overwhelmed after not playing for a while.
You don't need to max subclasses to get the new one. You just have to do the first mission in TTK, if you would like to jump into it instead.
Not sure I can really give advice on quickly maxing one, since they take a good bit of time(even the new ones when using the CE class items that make them go 25% faster)

It's definitely not the best implementation of the system.
Thanks, i think i'll start with my warlock as my main when i get home.
I haven't played either of the other expansion before so should i start with dark below or just jump in to TTK and do those story missions and strike whenever.
