If there are people on the fence because they think it's too simmy or something, it's best to think of DC as what a sim game might feel like to typical arcade racers without actually being a sim. The difficulty is there and things feel "real", but they're far from being anything actually sim-like.

A 30fps racer being too simmy?

Bought the physical game a while back. After a number of hours, I put the game on the shelf, as I couldn't get used to the handling.
Now I've bought the season pass for 13 bucks, and am determined to get over my GT/Forza sim handling bias.
I'm changing my mindset about Driveclub - thinking of it more like Ridge Racer helps.
Actually staring to embrace the drifting; where I didn't like it forced on me in PGR, but had no problem with it in RR.

Thanks for the heads up. Just bought , now I have to download everything.

Oh the humanity.
Nope. I just mentioned that everything unlocked for me 'magically'. There is nothing on my PS4 d/l list. After all, we all have the content downloaded by definition (for online mode to work). You can buy the bundle then start playing immediately. :)

Picked up the $20 version, holy crap is this game good....once you load up Playstation Music and give it a fucking soudtrack. I was really tricked by the total lack of music when racing.

So much content for $20. I really like how each race is really quick and doesn't wear out it's welcome because there are different objectives to strive for. And those graphics!

The game has a soundtrack but it's off by default so you can hear the engines instead.

I'm confused about the purchasable game/content for DC. I had the PS+ edition installed, and I bought the DC PS+ edition & season pass bundle that's on sale for $19.99, but when I go to the store I have an option to buy the "Full game" for $14.99. So much seems to have been included with the $19.99 purchase. Am I missing out on content if I don't buy the full game?

Thanks so much OP! I've been waiting for the season pass to go on sale because I've had so much fun with the base game. Bring on the GTR!

It's just the weird way that the PS stores lists things. The $14.99 one is a separate product (base game only), but the PS+ $20 bundle includes everything.

Nice! Thank you! Now that I've jumped in I didn't want to miss out.

Thank you again, Khalifa Jayy for posting this.

I dont know if you already found an answer and solved your problem but just in case :p

Go and restore licenses. I had the same problem and restoring the license changed it from PS+ edition to the full game. After that you just have to download all the cars from the store. i had to download each car from in-game<psn store because doing it from the store directly showed the buy prompt instead of download.

So just to make sure i'm on the same page:

If I already have the PS+ Edition, I can pay $20 to get the full game including the Season Pass?

Tried the PS+ demo and it instantly turned me off.
Heard it was more of an arcade game and it's totally not, I don't really like to rush in the walls at each turn.
At least it's super cheap.

I was enjoying it there for a little bit but I hit that point as I always do in racers where I just can't make any progress due to not being good enough. I slide around too much. I know how to handle slides in concept but I can never get the execution down, and some of those time trials like Canoosh just makes me want to drown myself in a mud puddle.

It is *more* of an arcade game. Doesn't mean it's arcade, though. Closer to the PGR series than anything like Burnout or Ridge Racer.

You don't want to drift for the most part, unless it's a drift event. You'll get better times by braking before entering a turn and then accelerating out of it.

Did this in a fairly easy track and did pretty well. I figured it was the strategy I just needed some experimentation (and still do) about which brake to use and how hard.

Went ahead and bought the 20 dollar bundle. Was kind of scared that it's called the Playstation plus and season pass bundle. Should have included upgrade in the title.

I guess when you do that there's no fanfare or anything? You just open the game and the first non starting line tour opens up?

You know... brakes. Every racing game, arcade or not, have brakes on the cars. Use them.
Just one button. You can do it.

If you've missed out on Driveclub, now is the time for you to push the pedal to the metal! Don't forget to grab the season pass, you get way more content than you can imagine!

I have the full game w/o the season pass. So I guess it'll cost me $14.99 to get everything in the season pass?

Obviously. Because there's no way anybody could actually enjoy the game and want others to enjoy it as well without being paid to do so.

Its not that you like the game, its the extreme enthusiasm for other people to pay money for it. I don't think it was a legitimate accusation, as much as pointing out that you're PRETTY excited about people buying it.

Almost everyone who plays Driveclub is pretty excited about other people playing/buying it, not just me (or whoever the last poster quoted). It's a fantastic game that's a great showcase for the PS4 and Evo as a studio.

Ended up getting it, the comparisons to Project Gotham put me over the fence.
From memory, it's closer in handling to 3 than 4, but with the weather/night stuff from 4. You shouldn't be disappointed.
