Destiny - The Taken King |OT| Time to Explain

I haven't had too much time to play this week, but I have done the Nightstalker & Stormcaller quests & to me (as a very casual player) they stand out as some of the best experiences playing Destiny so far. Bungie really captured the feel of acquiring the new tree as a significant moment.

I would love to see more of that kind of stuff in future quests/expansions- maybe for particular armor pieces or weapons where following a mini story arc results in acquiring an artifact from some famous Guardian or something like that.

I have so many quests after beating the story I have no idea what to do with myself and them

This was me last night. The game gives you about 30 seconds of satisfaction / respite, and then quests just pile up, onto the second page of the log. I had a long moment of paralysis trying to decide what to do.

I took someone's advice and started hitting the new strikes one by one. It was good advice.
I did the same and they still don't stop poppingpoAfter both dreadnought strikes, I got more quests.

At least I'm at 246 light and can attempt the daily heroic tomorrow with a friend.

Picked this up as soon as the legendary edition went up on psn. I wanted to get to play the older content before Taken King. I haven't put the game down since, it's awesome. I feel a little spoiled getting to play the game at this stage without having to suffer through the growing pains. Thanks to the long term players for making it what it is today.

wtf, I found a bunch of calcified things, then brought it back to Eris. Turns out they don't count until you turn one in and I can't get them again? What did I miss out on?

I have the regular game for PS4. GameStop is running a trade in deal where you trade in the OG game for $20 towards The Taken King Legendary Edition. Does this edition contain the regular game? Am unsafe to trade it in?

To the Guardians with the CE exotic class items: It's only level 170. Are you guys wearing it during missions and such, or just equipping it when turning in bounties and quests?

Yes, you're safe. They're gonna give you the standard Destiny game, along with a code for all of the expansions.

Jumped back on my 10 month old character. God damn, all my exotics and legendary items seem kinda useless off the bat. It's kind of exciting to be able to pick up green items and have them be better than my old stuff.

I just played the Dark Below content, the 3 story missions and the strike -- should I do the same for House of Wolves? Or Just jump into Taken King, does it matter?

Glad you're enjoying it.
Yes Destiny went through some changes during it's first year, but it was a fun ride for the players that sticked with it. We bitch a lot, but have no doubt we love the game. So many Year 1 memories.

I salvaged my sword... because it was 220 and I assumed I'd get a better one...

Then I learn that if you max it out, there's a quest to make it exotic... FML.

Planning on picking this up and getting back into Destiny. Worst bit is you can't get the game with just the two expansions and TTK but the good thing is that buying the legendary edition is cheaper than getting all that stuff separate minus the original anyway so it works out ok.

I've heard people say this is what Destiny should have been from the start so I look forward to it.

Having issues getting online on PS4 right now. No issues with PSN, just can't log into the destiny servers. Keep getting error messages "cattle" and "caterpillar."

Never had this issue before. Anyone know much about it?

^ah, damn. Out of curiosity, what geographical area are you in? Something on Bungie.net mentioned they see it happen in certain regions from time to time.

I'm in New England, FYI.

Just finished the story missions and this has been as good as I expected. I've been playing Destiny for the last few months and enjoyed it, but this has finally made it into the game I thought it was going to be last year. The story is fun and interesting, leveling is much easier, and there's a ton of content. Year two is going to be incredible!

We got the wolves to appear on Mars you just have to patrol the rubicon wastes and wait for them to spawn almost like the wanted bounties. The next step is a mission.

getting sick of this dreadnaught shit already. Oh look another chest with no indication what so fucking ever how to open it. It's not even big it's just needlessly obtuse.

So are modifiers gone from missions for good now with just the one Impossible setting? Been trying to do some bounties involving hunting majors and ultras, but most of the advice for getting those quickly doesn't seem possible to do anymore.

Got my first year 2 exotic today. A randomly dropped legendary engram was decoded into Zhalo Supercell. Haven't got a chance to try it out yet. It's an Arc primary. I can't wait to try it out. :)

God dammit. For the fucking gunsmith test weapons, you can only order one. Why the fuck does it not tell you this PRIOR to you buying the shit? I guess I'm getting a shotgun. Wanted the Scout Rifle.
