Destiny - The Taken King |OT| Time to Explain

Yes three of us got the the Boolean Gemini! We complete the Petra quests and variks to get the trophy then talked to Petra and gave the exotic. We also the quest that involves the brooch from patrolling the dreadnought. It appears as you kill taken and hive. Then do court of oryx to get the hive wizard to drop the other half.
 
By the way, I know a lot of people are recommending that you buy a Vanguard or Crucible ghost shell, but I think I found a better way. I don't know the drop rates for it, but I got a 290 rare ghost shell from the Court of Oryx. I can't remember if it was tier 1 or 2, can't remember my light level (could have been 275), or if I was just insanely lucky, but it might be worth checking out.

Anyways woo 280 light only had to play for 20/48 hours!

No, I mean you can get all those test weapons and use them to get the gunsmith rank to 1. But you can then only order one of the legendary foundry orders weapons is what I mean.

So choose the one you actually want most. I figured I'd order the shotgun + scout rifle so I just picked the shotgun first, and then I got that and tried for the Scout Rifle and it tells me "Max Orders Placed" for my Armsday Orders.

i LOVE nightstalker.

well only played pve so far ..but man it's almost OP

the damage you deal to dudes who are teathered is insane .. the perks are really great though, the smoke bomb basically is like having two nades. and they cloak you and yr squad if up close. it's basically the ninja class

Chests that don't drop loot spawn waves of enemies and boss near by which drop loot or more keys!

I'm so ready for Xur this weekend (is he on this weekend?), I've got 60 coins already, keep getting them from engrams and reward packages!
 
Better start getting banshee to rep 3 he will give out the class specific exotic from a mission. Hunter gets the ace of spades and warlock gets the tlaloc. Titan unknown.
 
Gaf, I am so confused. In the vangard option, there is no more option of levels, only 20 I have no idea how to do strikes, the biggets level thing I can do is prison of elders at 28 and I am 34, I did not buy TTK, so I need to buy it to get this basic stuff again? or am I missing something?

yup. Pretty much no real end game for you other than PoE and raids.

People are going to complain about the Taken being reskins, but they definitely feel like new enemies if not solely for the fact that they have challenging behaviors. You'll be fighting one and he'll teleport to dodge your shots, then you'll take too long to kill him and he'll spawn a buddy. Or one will duck behind a corner and shield his comrade from your attacks. They're difficult and ironically feel like they work better together than the individual races did themselves. It gives me tremendous Halo vibes when I'm fighting them. They're difficult, but they aren't sponging their way through my bullets or hitting me with overpowered attacks. They're just moving so damn fast.

Their death animations are amazing too.
 
There's a big flaw in the leveling system now that wasn't really a problem in the base game. So by having Light attached to armor and weapons, I'm stuck using weapons that I don't like. With the base game, having armor that you didn't like didn't matter as much in comparison because I could still have fun shooting. I'm at a point in my progression where it isn't fun to shoot or fun to be shot at, because my Light isn't quite high enough, but yet the game keeps throwing these high level quests at me.

yeah I did the PoE and it does not open any ther levels. same with strikes, I only have level 20 strikes, max. They used to go up t 32, so not even that is available anymoe now?

THe way it is right now, the only way I can get exotics is Xur. Really, I just cant believe tha this is it for those without TTK. I must be missing something.

Infusing items is supposed to take care of that later but yeah right now I hear ya. Plus you can't infuse to older items you may have really liked coughcrotaweapons

That's pretty shit if you ask me. I'm having fun with TTK, but not everyone wants to pony up forty dollars right now. To take away content for non buyers, if true, is a complete shit show.

Yeah I was just going to complain about those missions. Half the time there's not enough to do it and you'll get the fucker to next to no health and he'll disappear making you do it all over again. I hate those missions.

I did all 3 strikes tonight, found something while fighting the shield Bros, some sort of key, not for the court of oryx, the description says something about "ambush the cabal" It's a white item, looks like a key you use to unlock your front door
 
I'm locked out of the new subclass on my hunter. Don't manually go to orbit after getting the mission complete screen after the first step or you'll never be able to unlock the subclass. And yes I tried everything.

have you tried abandoning the quest and then picking it back up again?
 
Once you reach a level high enough to do heroic strike playlist, the loot just starts to flow. Got two more levels before 280 and the Nightfall. The new strike boss fight that is exclusive to PS4 is hard on heroic. But incredibly fun.
 
Lol. The new quest menu really just shows how disjointed shit was before. The sword of Crota mission on the moon is now the first mission in the dark below quest line. Makes more sense that you get this mission from this Erys Morn chick unlike before where it was just...uhh random as hell? Also emphasizes how obviously that dark below stuff was just gutted out of the game so that it could be sold as dlc.

Is it a pretty common thing to get disconnected during Strikes? I'm new to this and each strike I've tried so far I've gotten disconnected on. Usually the 2nd attempt at one works but I have yet to get thru 1 strike on the first attempt without getting disconnected to the server. PS4 by the way and I run a wired connection.

I just realized that because blue gear drop motes when you dismantle them, that they're actually quite useful now. All those items I shard reflexively are giving me XP to level my current gear. Got two legendary pieces half upgraded tonight from just motes I picked up from blues. Really changes the gear leveling process a lot.

The Taken War quests are kicking my ass, but...in all the right ways. Good grief.
 
So, how come I only have two difficulty options for strikes now? I haven't played in a while, but didn't you used to be able to select from multiple levels for increased difficulty and higher level loot?
