I would prefer more nationalities and playstyles represented. For the sake of diversity.

Boxer would he good as we don't have a Boxer in the game, and we need more black characters as we only have Birdie. Also we need more pure charge characters.

Zangief would also be good as he brings a new nationality (Russian). We also don't have any bearded character (atls don't count). We also don't have a slow heavy grappler a fast grab.

Son vote for Zangief/Balrog as the last 2 characters. It helps that they are also iconic characters. For people complaining about SF2 characters. I'm sure they can make these characters fresh with V Skills and V Triggers. I like what they changed on some of the returning characters so far.

I honestly can't tell. Sim and Gief are obviously more recognizable but I can't see anyone who wouldn't have been interested in buying the game beforehand being swayed by them, whereas Alex and Urien have some wildcard potential to bring a lot of hype.

Well, others answered correctly I guess: neither. I really don't know how effective DLC will be for this game. Like Guile, Akuma, Juri seem like DLC heavy hitters to me, the rest are whatever.

You guys are all Karin too much about who makes it in the launching roster or not.. But if you are are hoping for 3s characters Alex you this: Do you really think they are considered classic SF characters that you would expect in a SF game? I think Urien for a big disappointment.

yeah, I agree in not counting rasheed for projectile. urien and sim have legit fireballs, tho. I'm assuming one of the 2 new chars will have some kind of projectile game.

They'll both move fuck all but it's pretty obvious which 2 are more well known. You know the 2 in SF2, Alpha/Zero, EX, IV, Xmen Vs SF, Capcom Vs SNK, the live action movie and heaps of anime projects.

I'll rather have Boxer + Sagat with Urien as Boss/First DLC myself for play style reasons...

Also I hope the story moves along with DLC characters, you'll want to see Guile and Nash interact, Sakura with Karin etc... also Gill telling Dictators that the mark of his dignity shall scar his DNA in 2018

Nah I think the leaked roster is legit. Alex and urien guaranteed at this point. Even though it should be Guile and Urien for many reasons. Story, gameplay etc. Alex is unnecessary I think in a 16 man roster. 3 grapplers is too much.

Alex is like utterly pointless as far as story goes in this initial roster, and how there is no Guile when Nash is back from the dead and even plays completely different is just stupid.

Both birdie and alex are hybrid grapplers. So they only count 1/2.....

For a long time now guiles whole story was is looking for Charlie. And now that he's here guile is not a major character what? I can draw 2 conclusion from this. This game will not have any story mode as the characters chosen seems too random and out of place, or there is a story mode and many I mean many characters make in game cameo. Which is pointless as you want lot of these rivalries to be played out not cameo. This is before sf3. Since most characters are missing from sf3 I assume a lot of the old story lines are closed out in 5. Granted there is a story mode in sfv and not online only mode.

Brazil Game Show 8th-11 October has Ono announcing Laura.
New York Comic Con which runs the exact same time as BGS has some people thinking Alex will get announced, doubt it.
Paris Game Week Oct 28th-Nov 1 will have another annoucement
Playstation Xperience/Capcom Cup runs Dec 5-6.

I think you're way more invested in the story of these games than anyone at Capcom is.

I agree, I mean it's stupid to expect one of the more main characters in the series (and also quite popular) who has been looking for Nash for the last 20 years to be in the same game where he comes back to life in a game they've said they will do the story right after messing upin IV. (more for seeing how much cake Mortal Kombat makes)

Aside from the core cast+Sagat, none of the sf2 cast was in Alpha 1

Aside from the core cast, no one from 3 made it into vanilla sf4

They obviously backtracked from 3 since that was supposed to be a total refresh (and probably not the only one planned), but it doesn't mean Capcom hates 3. If nobody from 4 makes it into V then the cycle continues; if nobody from 3 makes it, then you can hate Capcom all you want.

Aside from core cast + Sagat + Bison + Akuma for Alpha 1
And also They added Gief + Sim in Alpha 2.


Theres really no pattern or anything. SF3 was just an exception. It was originally supposed to be a brand new cast then they backtracked and addded Ryu and Ken. Then added Chun for 3s.
