Karin announced for SFV

Weird that people are complaining about Alpha characters.

Don't hate on Capcom for having great taste :p

Their designs peaked with that series.

No because they still made good characters afterward. In in 4 good alts, cody's in particular should be his regular outfit.

Also alpha has mika so no.

I can agree with that statement. But, a bland design like that isn't it. It needs something more.

But its not bland, its just right, any more would be overdone. What your thinking of as an alternative is overdone, and that's never good. Its like turning up the contrast and sharpness on a TV to the highest settings.

Than she better have her OG costume up for DLC hella quick than since that shit's wack.

She wore a normal school girl outfit as her original costume. Now she wears a normal teacher's outfit according to her profession. How much more do people need for her to 'stand out'?

The low-poly people on all the stages look really horrible and out of place. Bums me out :(

This so much. It seems like such a trivial thing to be disappointed about, but I suppose it's because I find the overall aesthetic and graphics so good and the difference so obvious that it's distracting to the point of annoyance.

I really wish they'd have the balls to either remove them completely or at least have more stages with only the fighters.

His Alpha VA is fking bad ass though. I just love that voice. SF4 VA seemed a little more toned down.

Overall I feel SF4 sort of neutered Guy a little , not just about gameplay. But he just lacks that Raw final fight-esque badassness from Alpha. Seems more of a traditional good-guy Ninja.

Still my main character though and hope he comes within the First year of SF 5.

SF4 wasn't good to a lot of characters. Hell I'm pretty sure if you stare at Gief's character model long enough, you will get eye cancer.

It's bland compared to the people around her. That's what I'm referring to. Street Fighter has never been about reserved designs. So, are you saying everyone else is overdone? To a point, yes. But, that's part of the charm of Street Fighter. Having everyone wearing realistic gear would make it bland and boring.

If she was wearing something similar from the get go, I can see that. But, no one wants her to switch from a school girl outfit to a boring jacket and some shorts. I'm sure Capcom will update the design, but I'd like it to be closer to how they did Karin and Mika.

My point is, that type of non overdone design fits her own character. It doesn't have to fit other characters so much as her own style and what she's worn previously while changing it.

I'm REALLY happy with her outfit. It's reminiscent of her old getup without making it look like she's still in high school. And it's classy and rich-looking but something loose enough that she can still fight in it.

It's a short i versus a long i sound. Like the word "India" the first i is short, the second i is long and sounds like the letter "e".
Ah, I see. Thanks :P

Being bilingual this is actually the correct way. Funny when people say Ryu = Rayyy-YU
Funny thing is, English speakers would find it easier to pronounce it as Liu (like Liu Kang) and it'd be much closer than Rye-you or Ree-you, lol.

She already has an adult story and design. Sakura WILL look like this. I'll place my avatar on it

Considering what they've given to Karin, I guess she'll have a new outfit that will resemble the colors of her school uniform. So, a blue skirt and white jacket with blue highlights. Also wearing biker shorts underneath the skirt, rather than bloomers, like Karin's old design.

Just realized Karin's idle animation in V is very similar to Lili's.

Yea, she's very similar to Lili in general as far as some of her moves and animations. I know she pre-dates Lili, but it's very obvious that for this iteration of Karin, they've taken a lot of cues from Lili. It's cool that the two teams seem to have a good relationship.

Really hope they change out the entire UI system in this game. I like simplicity, but this is just missing something. A lot of things. Are UIs usually the last thing to get worked on in game development? I could have sworn Street Fighters IV's UI was changed in the last few months before arcade release. I remember it being horrible too.

Karin doesn't really dictate Sakura's design. Also, what you described sounds strange.

Shes Japanese? Doesn't look like it at all. All of the other character appearances match their nationality.
I don't know who you're talking about but nationality isn't an ethnic group. Someone can be British but not be white, American but be black, etc.

Y'all need to edumacate yerselves on these here terms before ya speaketh.

Dem thighs.

I don't get the hype behind Karin. I expect Q now.

I didn't quite notice until a second before. I'mma say this: Capcom has always had a talent for shapely, voluptuous females, more than any other dev in the fighting game scene, easily. It's a lineage going way back to SFII vanilla.

It's a talent they seem keen to keep for SFV, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

It's not really Karin dictating anything. I just think Karin shows how far Capcom is willing to stray from their classic designs here. They won't give Sakura a standard outfit that will completely change her color scheme and silhouette.

I don't see what is strange about what I said. Pick the design that you mentioned, but change the color scheme of her jacket to primarily white with blue lines here and there (rather than red + white lines) and then give her a blue skirt, with the biker shorts still there, just underneath it.
