Awesome to see that she's finally confirmed in and she looks great! Capcom making the animations in this game look gorgeous and so smooth! That Japan stage though.......soooo goooood and it has a really beautiful backdrop of the mountains compared to the New Zealand stage which still looks like it needs a bit of work. Best stage by far followed by China and I'm guessing a more finished Brazil stage will be shown next month with Laura.

I love how the foreground of the Japan stage relates to Karin and the background relates to Ryu.

Yeah, the background reminds me of various elements of Ryu's old stages(mountains, castles, statues) but the foreground has the Karin elements like the various rich folks/associates and ballroom. Looks really nice and the night time adds a bit of classiness and elegance to it.

Haggar is miles better than Cody. Haggar should be in any Capcom game to be honest.

Mind you, I've only seen the trailer and one demonstration video. The tornadoes are no small thing, but his basics and uniques seem to have more range on them like Cody rather than closer/faster like Rufus. I suppose you could just as easily say the tornadoes are the only real Cody element and he pulls more from Ibuki, but that is no less disappointing. If they come out with a new character from a new region I'd like something really new, not something that just smashes other characters together, being a half potion of them both in their absence and redundant in their potential future presence.
I'd rather have Remy than Nash.
I wanted Haggar but I'll settle for Mika.

They're both cool but in different ways. Both are better than Guy, who is still cool but in a different way.
The problem I have with Haggar tho is that he's basically Gief, and I'm not sure who I would choose between those two.

It should be noted that Alex & Urien were leaked before Karin & Rainbow Mika. And while Capcom has said that the last 2 veterans would be "characters that you'd expect", they have been known to lie about the roster of their fighting games to hide the truth. Hsien-Ko in MvC3 & Decapre in USF4 are prime examples of this.

Guy is far more interesting and unique design than the other two though . Cody became more interesting after his alpha 3 change .
Original ff design was kinda bland.

True .... Alpha guy was best guy , was a bit more edgy,trash talky. Even though that's usually a bad thing it worked wonders on him.
Ending? lol. Guy's japanese VA is probably one of the best in the game. He's easily the most stylish character in USF4 and one of the most fun to watch. Yawl need to lay off the paint thinner in here.

every char has some dumbass winquotes. that was categorically a weak point in sfiv. so many lame ass intro quotes, too.

I'm not talking about his win quote, I'm talking about his win stance. Butt aesthetic may be styling for you but everything about him screams z-tier "weasel lord" to me.
Besides, high ranking Guys are sad affairs that get beat down with scrub rushdown tactics because all they can do is ex-tornado and focus. I pray for every B and A rank Guy I fight. He's a character that works hard for very little profit because he relies on predictable spacing gimmicks, but I wasn't talking about gameplay in the first place.
And I'd actually prefer the characters grow and progress. If Sakura shows up in her school uniform again, I'm going to be bummed.

Yeah... the Alpha series canon wise was pre-SF2 so in SF5 Sakura (if she becomes available) should have a significantly different look.
It's probably the reason why they are taking their time with announcing other "classic" characters but seem eager to showcase fan favorites and new characters.
I have no idea what a 'weasel lord' is but ok. As far as singling out Guy players to illustrate some half assed point, show me one fraud Guy player with a lot of PP, I'll show you 300 ERyus who mash through strings and do wake up ultras.
