Akuma came first and was a cool easter egg in SFII. When a character first appears in a series like this, it makes a strong statement, and being around forever kind of gives him a pass regardless.

Simplicity has nothing to do with it. Oni is 'we're out of money AND ideas' the character.

With the way Capcom is introducing the female characters I was half expecting Karin to come in with ass-less chaps or something.

As was already stated by someone else, all the characters have been presented in the way that they've always been presented.

It seems more like a problem with you than with Capcom if you lump all the female characters together without acknowledging their differences.

-Chun Li since day one has had the large, heaving chest and huge thighs.
-Cammy since day one has been scantily clad leotard gal turning her butt to the camera.
-Mika has always been the garishly dressed joshi wrestler who is so proud of her rear end that she hits people with it.
-Karin since day one has been the modestly dressed aristocrat who's very well covered.

I don't know why someone would see Chun, Cammy, and Mika revealed in the same tone as they've always been, and then conclude that "gosh, I guess every female in the game will be like them".

Capcom didn't "show restraint". They did what they've been doing the entire series.

If Makoto shows up, expect her to be presented like Makoto. However, if Juri shows up...well, expect side-boob, tongue wagging, maniacal laughter, and sex puns. Different characters are different characters.

Haha, I did say half expect, it's alright, I have played the series for 24 years myself to the point I actually got obsessed with the series story-line and lore, but them Capcom artists really got to stretch their cheese cake with the new graphics engine, plus the titty jiggle glitch is hilarious; Mika outfit really rides all up in that booty more than I remembered in Alpha 3, 3D certainly has them more curvy.

That's Karin's thing alright. She's the epitome of Oujou Sama anime and manga tropage that Lili also has in spades. Lili is missing the drill hair that is absolutely essential for this type of character though, i forget if you can customize that on her in T6 or TTT2

I always liked her gray outfit in Alpha 3, but with the full black tights and long sleeves the red outfit looks much nicer than it used to.
