They shown R. Mika at PAX, they had Vega at Gamescon, they released both Charlie and M. bison via trailers. Necalli was revealed at Evo and the crowd was not hyped. Ken did hit home at San Diego Comic Con. Rashid at Dubai and Karin at TGS were shots at pleasing the home crowd.

That capcom actually revealed characters that would appeal specific demographics and regions is a more happy conidience than not.

Also, capcom isn't going to put a character in or take a character out just so they can make the convention crowd happy. That is backwards thinking. You can only reveal the characters you did create.

So you looking to make a bet, or nah? Because the way I see it, none of those characters had better events to be shown at to fit their schedule.
 
I hope Capcom continues the hype trailers beyond the 16 launch characters. Every DLC character should receive the same treatment. The anticipation is too much fun!

Beyond that, it's smart marketing. There's no doubt that some will wait on purchasing if their favorite character isn't a part of the initial roster, but the second they're announced they'll drop whatever zenny necessary. I can also see the game being repackaged with a voucher for a DLC character of the buyer's choosing down the road to remove the objections some late adopters may have.

I'm pretty sure that they are going to do hype trailers for every characters. There is no way that they wouldn't.

I'm confident of this as well, but we don't know what exactly goes into producing these nor how the marketing budget will change post-release. I hope SFV does incredibly well financially and they do the right things to keep the community as strong/large as possible.

But even then there was room for interpretation. Clearly the blue section was for Alpha characters who weren't in SFIV. Before Capcom's "characters you'd expect" comment, the green could have been seen as characters from numbered SF games (not counting SFI). However, said recent comments throw a cloud of doubt over Alex & Urien taking up those last two spots. As such, while Alex & Urien are somewhat likely thanks to the Siliconera leak proving itself up to this point, said statements by Capcom have put them in a situation where they aren't as guaranteed as some may be led to believe.

Make a bet for what? All I'm saying is that anybody expecting any character at a given convention is setting themselves up for disappointment.

I don't know who or what is going to show up.

But even you can agree that we're most likely getting a newcomer at the Brazil Game Show (probably Laura). And even then, Rashid & Karin's reveals were clearly catered to their respective crowds.

Exactly. As such, even though location shouldn't be the end-all-be-all for where reveals will go down, it does give us a pretty good clue as to who may get revealed where. But at the same time, both Rashid & Karin were leaked. And while the same argument could be used for Alex & Urien, there's still doubt surrounding their inclusion in the base roster.

Like what would their VTriggers even be? Armor Gief sounds like a nightmare lol

Nope, lol. I'll be done with these threads after the next confirmation. That'll be it for me. I don't care about speculation.

The reveal threads have been awful for me with all of the drama surrounding gender politics, character popularity, NEW CHARACTER LOOKS LIKE GARBAGE/LOOKS AWESOME/BANANA HAIR and BS speculation. The game can't come soon enough.

SmashGAF only had 2/3 of those things.
 
From a psychological stand point, if you have information that you absolutely cannot reveal, what would you do if someone guesses right about that information and asks you about it on twitter? Personally I would ignore it. That's the safest bet. Now if it was a wrong guess I would still not want let it be known that it is NOT these two characters, but I would be more inclined to say something like "No comment".

That's just my two cents:)

PS: People work differently, so this is just how I would do things.

Uriens V trigger would obviously Aegis reflector, but i cant really think of anything for Alex, maybe back spin on all his moves?

Or he's a streamer and wants people to think he's "In the know," whether or not he is, because then people might tune in to his stream hoping something slips.
