Yeah, but this thread isn't really inherently the relevant place for "pretty lady dancing" gifs, even if said woman plays a part in the game.

MGS games for me are about the story and gameplay, prior to MGS V, the gameplay wasn't the best in the genre, but it was unique and fun. Before playing MGS V I was prepared to say goodbye to the franchise, but after finishing MGS V, I'm really sad that this will be the last MGS game directed by Kojima, or the last game in the series.

MGSV's gameplay is on another level when it comes to games in general, not just the series. People will be doing cool stuff with it for years to come.

And yeah, an MGS starring the Boss as the lead is now never going to happen :/

I know the scene I just don't get why it's always referenced. That line didn't stand out to me at all and in fact someone had to link me back to that scene for me to remember it. Was just curious why people seem to have latched on

You hear the line "Such a lust for revenge" often, do you?

I don't think acknowledging a fully clothed beautiful person is beautiful is "creepy."

But if it upsets you, no more amazing gifs.

(Those were the only ones I saw, anyways)
We know where pictures and especially gifs of pretty women lead NeoGAF threads, straight to hell. Thanks for you understanding though :)

The real kicker is the funny "whoooo", the "such lust"-line is just connected and thus sometimes used to setup who-jokes.

The fake big boss plan was already in motion before he woke up,he just decided to roll with it afaik.
Also, solidus killed olga and he can rot in hell for that.

Damn straight. BB is a man that just gets thrown in shit circumstances and has to make the best of it. Zero had the Venom plan in action before BB even woke up and BB went with it. The events of MGSV are mostly Zero's doing.

So was Les Enfants Terribles, and Big Boss went rogue over that.

It would have totally been in character for Big Boss to punch Ocelot in the head and track down Zero to give him a talking to. "Oi, Zero, don't do this, and certainly don't do this with my best soldier, cunt".

The plot would have been better off if the body double was a plan executed and ongoing (as in, Venom Snake is in operation) while OG Big Boss was still in his coma.

That would've been awesome, lol

I like the idea of Sutherland grunting "cunt" to a trembling Time Winters

EDIT: Name typo, fuck

He's a sissy because he puts somebody who was his "top" men as a meat shield for himself. Not only that, he approves of the plan that gotten many innocent people killed. All to save his own skin. It might not have been his plan, but he could always disapprove it.

And he got burnt alive against Solid Snake who had to procure a lighter and fuel while he was armed with an assault rifle the whole time. The most embarrassing defeat. Quite fitting for the name, Big Sissy.

Except BB benefited heavily from the arrangement.

Zero protected him while he was in the coma and then set in motion a plan that would allow BB to pursue his ambition of establishing a nation. If anything, BB would be thanking Zero.

Yeah we can't know for sure, either way I'm glad they left it up in the air since it leaves something to think about when replaying the games.

I'm personally glad that a series that has become obsessed with pleasing the fanbase with constant answers actually leaves certain things open for interpretation like this. I also wonder if The Sorrow even knew he was the father, since he was "killed" before The Boss gave birth to Ocelot...

Well, I suppose, seeing as Big Boss had a sudden shift in character after his coma.

Big Boss as we know him from Peace Walker and Snake Eater would have slapped Zero's head. "Sacrifice a hospital of innocent people for me, are you nuts?".

Yes, I agree. MGS V is the best stealth/action game I have ever played. It's the game that I have always dreamed of playing after MGS 3 and the open world experience I wanted from other developers to do (Assassin's Creed) but never happened until MGS V.

How come people never mention how stupid the mancatapults were in MGS4? Of all the infiltration methods; submarine pod, bungie jumping off a bridge, scuba diving, halo jumping, and helicopter. The mancatapult into Outer Haven is the stupidest shit ever. It's Twin Snakes door cartwheel bad. Snake is great soldier, but he couldn't survive that shit without breaking some bones like Johnny. Especially in his old ass state.

Joosten is incredibly adorable so it's weird to see how she was used for pretty much only sexy stuff in MGSV.

Okay so with all the diving into the plotholes and the fact that Ghost Babel was ripped off and that the themes were half baked and there was barely a plot and the game was just an non-clever lie, I think I'm left being upset with this game. Even if MGS4 was excessive and unneccessary, it at least told a story and tried to be genuine at moments.

It's not like Snake putting that gun in his mouth turn into a twist where Old Snake was secretly a fourth clone brainwashed to be Solid Snake who was busy having his own mission.

Oh, wow, totally forgot about those. Yeah, how do those work? I get the "launching you 300 feet" part, but what about the "surviving a 300-foot drop" part??

I do think BB is kind of a dick for agreeing to sacrifice the entire hospital.

It could have been interesting if Big Boss' agreeing to the plan was treated as the first of many of awful selfish sacrifices made for Outer Heaven or whatever, (men become demons!!!!!) but the narrative doesn't pay any special attention to it.

I actually think that's probably the intention, but you're right, the game kind of just puts it out there and expects you to make the connection. Given the gravity of the situation, more emphasis would've been nice.

Thinking about it some more, I wonder if Venom knows the hospital was intentionally put in harm's way. I wonder what he'd think about that, after going through that hell firsthand. Remember, Venom is the guy who saves puppies and sheep and child soldiers and spares Huey and has soul-searching memories of Paz talking about mercy and peace. I kind of suspect the whole hospital scheme would rub him the wrong way.

Who are they competing with? What/when was the last AAA stealth game? Volume? Last of us?
Point being, unless there's DLC and/or MGO is a hit, no one will be playing in the years to come.

Seriously, after Paz's last tape, I don't know how Venom would be onboard with Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land

I've probably spent 20-25 hours purely sniping with a base M2000 or Renov in Afghanistan, just in free roam, since finishing S rank for most of the missions. With how deadly S rank guards are, the game is so satisfying to have long range firefights in.

Last night I was re-doing Red Brass trying to come up with creative ways to assassinate the 3 officers... basically just did that most of the night. Favorite was luring the first officer out with an empty cartridge and then hiding inside with a box, and then once all 3 enter, popping out a smoke grenade launcher, or luring all 3 outside and dropping an Interceptor Mode D-Walker on top of their heads (I tried a jeep but couldn't get its landing to stick haha).

They aren't launched into Arsenal Gear from afar. Both ships collision side to side, and then they are launched; Arsenal Gear is higher than Mei Ling's ship, so they don't fall as high as they ascended.

Apparently SIGINT mentions having plans to develop it at ARPA in MGS Portable Ops. Of all the things to carry over from PO and make canon.

Here's another moment I like — there are a number of ways I think the smirk can be interpreted, but I personally think it's his ego thinking, "Yeah, I -am- Big Boss." Only to be followed by despair after the time skip when Solid Snake is about to take him down and he realizes the futility of being a meat shield for someone he trusted.

The Boss gave birth during WW2, and Ocelot was taken away immediately after. After world war 2, when the USSR and USA were enemies, The Boss was ordered to kill the Sorrow.

Before MGSV:

Solid > Big Boss > Liquid > Solidus

After MGSV:

Solid > Solidus > Liquid >>>>>>>> Getting kicked in the balls >>>>> Big Boss = Venom Snake.

not sure either, i didn't even realize until a few days after i finished all the missions and had been reading this thread.

i liked that scene but that line in particular didn't stand out much to me with how much louder sahelanthropus and the gunfire were becoming.

Men become demons!
