It's funny but applies just as much to the xb1. This generation absolutely sucks for exclusives so far.
I don't know about that sentiment. Wii U has them, well, almost exclusively. Xbox One at least has a solid exclusive holiday lineup and in terms of next year are just as stacked as Sony. So far, yes, XB1/PS4 have had mostly lackluster first party output. Not for much longer however.

What a fucking joke, that is a slap in the face to Canadians. Sony can take a long walk of a short pier.
As someone who is not from NA, why exactly? Just because it's more expensive than at launch? According to Google, nowadays 349 USD = 455 CAD.

Wouldn't pricing it at 399 CAD make lots of people from the US cross the border to buy one or is it not that easy?

This was definitely needed with their holiday lineup. Should do pretty well.

Now Wii U is only $50 less than a PS4. What the fuck are you doing Nintendo

350$ Battlefront and Uncharted bundle without black friday sales. That's good. I can see retailers bundling other games with it, or a $20 gift card.

Your move Microsoft.

The October NPD will be fun (I think Microsoft will win it with Halo 5)

As someone who bought a launch PS4 for $399 Canadian with a $100+ discount, I'm starting to wonder if the system will ever reach that price.

It's nice to win the price war as an early adopter for once!

Fucking awesome! I'm buying one soon then.
I have been putting off buying one for a while. I work 72 hr weeks up here at a remote location and the Xbone that I bought for sub-$300 last Black Friday monopolizes my very limited free time. I know I need one for Street Fighter V though (and a ton of other games that I want to play, but mainly SFV), so I planned on buying one. I'm looking to leave this job and return to the U.S. soon though, so now I just need to decide if I want to buy one closer to the holidays when there might be some extra stuff bundled with one or buy it now and have it sent here to get it tax-free (but have to then turn around and ship it to the U.S.).
Nice, though. I might pick up the BlOps3 bundle for the bigger HDD right off the bat. I already purchased an external for my Xbone and have filled that up and am looking for a new one; more space on the PS4 would help me in postponing needing to buy a new HDD for that too for a while.

You need a passport to cross the border and the gas spent crossing would defeat the purpose of saving money in most places.

so i can buy a cheap console but have nothing worth playing on it? thats basically what you're saying lol

No, I'm saying they won't need exclusives to outsell their competition. If you honestly think there is nothing worth playing on PS4, that's another issue.

Finally.

At least they did announce it at a great time; on the verge on big games releasing and only a day away so it's minimum impact on sales.

Really?, PS4 would be almost non stop during 2016...

I havent kept track of any other exclusives for PS4 for 2016, but I think MS has 2-3 exclusives delayed till that year. I just checked and Street Fighter V releases the same day as Uncharted 4... damn. They should at least spread it out by a week.

SFV doesn't have a release date yet

Sony delayed Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank into 2016. Plus Horizon and Street Fighter V in terms of large retail exclusives, because the downloadable exclusives supposedly don't count in this conversation.

Well, a lot of gaffers were very confident that Sony would go 299 $ (or would have to go 299 $ to compete with MS in NA) while most ppl said that Sony would never throw away that profit from an already good selling console. Sales now going to rise but they still don't loose that much compared to a 100 $ pricedrop.

Also the cost of a PS4 would be over the one day allowable product to bring back over the border so you risk having to pay duty fees, and you don't get your money at par exchange rates there is always a markup. Oh and depending on where you crossed tax rates would be rough too. Ontario has a 13% tax rate where as Michigan has only 6%

Pretty wild that I bought a PS4 at Canadian MSRP 2 years ago which was less than what it is now after the first official price drop.

Our dollar has fallen off a cliff tho. No hate to Sony.

Still waiting for hardware revision 3 and $299. And games. Need those too (exclusives)

Oh and Phil Spencer has got to be some kind of prophet, or genius

Wow, is the CAD so shaky compared to USD?
Thought it would be pretty tighlyt related to USD courses.

They still might. Holidays and such.

I'll definitely bite at $299.

It was close to USD for about a decade, but the last few years it's been shaky. It's back to what it was in the 90s when it averaged like 75% of the USD at best.

Though we actually benefit when our dollar sucks, because American businesses see a bargain and so they invest in us.

I still think two things are missing from SCEA's lineup : no Assassin's Creed bundle and no Black Ops III regular bundle. I think they are going a little too easy considering Microsoft's bullets. Good timing for the price cut, however.

Not really they have 3 Star Wars bundles one of which is now $350.
