PS4 gets a new, lower price starting Friday: $349.99

ya, it must suck paying less than the US!!!!

Wha...you do realize the equivalent value means nothing to people whose currency is valued less and wages that are being outstripped by increased offset costs and a larger tax rate? Well, at least the console is a decent deal when the 429 bundles include $80 games like Battlefront.

I still think two things are missing from SCEA's lineup : no Assassin's Creed bundle and no Black Ops III regular bundle. I think they are going a little too easy considering Microsoft's bullets. Good timing for the price cut, however.

because they know the game is a train wreck?

There are AC bundles in the UK, no price drop but the bundles exist.

EDIT: removed link to banned website that has no reason to still be banned but hey ho.

Just sold my day one ps4 for $300 (wanted the starwars limited edition ps4). $100 for the upgrade works for me.

I don't mind the CAD price of the console, it's fair and even a better deal with the current dollar. My issue is first with the actual video game prices and then when they don't re-adjust pricing when the dollar goes back closer to parity.

I remember it took a while for electronic stores to re-adjust pricing after the dollar increased. They must have made a killing then.

I wonder if MS decides to reduce price now. Maybe they'll see how they do with Halo and if it doesn't have the desired effect, reduce in November.

I bought the 1TB PS4 with physical Fifa 16 for 370 euro last week during a huge discount, which thankfully still seems like a good deal (at this moment a 1TB PS4 is normally 400 and Fifa about 55).

Smart of them to drop the price a bit though.

Saw this coming from a mile away. Hopefully the Taken King bundle is $350 as well. Been trying to convince a friend to jump in for a while.

PS4 isn't a Wii U. Exclusives games are tiny fraction of what people buy these consoles to play.

Exactly. PS4 still doing great @399 so there is no need for huge price cut even though there are no big first party games but they have biggest 3rd party marketing deals and bundles, so they can take another $50 when their big games are getting released next year along with PS VR.

Feels good that I still paid about $70 less than that on launch day thanks to some clever stacking discounts I had available to me.

Take a bow, Gopher. You were right. :)

But for the other "people in the know" talking down to others (not just disagreeing with) for believing a ps4 price cut was coming this year, smh...

I just pre-ordered the Nathan Drake Collection PS4 Bundle last week at GameStop.
Now I'm wondering if it'll have this price drop when I go to pick it up?

Can't wait to see reaction if Xbone will win October and the Holidays :).

People waiting for Xbox to win months must be very thirsty by now. ;)

They better drop the price again because it can't compete(win) at the same price as PS4. Maybe this month with Halo, but definitely not going forward.

Man, Sony must have good announcements in store for Paris Games Week and PSX to announce this now and not at those events.

Tempted to get another PS4, but have no idea how that will work since do I download everything twice? Just choose a primary?

Looking forward to seeing how these cuts relate to the UK?

Will look to get a PS4 next year when UC4 and Horizon are out, would love to pick up a PS4 and a game (or two) for about £200 :)

It should. The same happened when the xb1 was reduced for 50 for the Call of Duty AW 1 TB bundle they had about a year. Some were able to get to credit back.

Sony is getting rid of the current versions of the PS4, so that they can ramp up production for the slim model.

Which will probably launch with Uncharted 4.

Boom. Time for me to join back into the PlayStation Nation.

What? They just released a revised model.

Expected once the official cuts started elsewhere but props to those who called it even earlier than that.

The division between PS4/XB1 sales really was getting too narrow in US and it felt like time for Sony to use price directly to drive further demand.

Should be interesting holiday period. I still figure XB1 will sell more in US but that doesn't really matter so much as what the gap is if they do. So long as Sony remain overall ahead by decent margin come 2016 they're in good shape IMHO. Being ahead over 2 years into the gen in US should mean they can hold the lead throughout so long as they remain competitive in the market.

Post holiday period the lower price with bigger exclusives finally starting to arrive (U4) should help them too.

I think XB1 will do well too and enter 2016 in respectable position in US but while the lead isn't huge I'm really thinking Sony is going to manage to hold them off fully closing the gap now.

Although there's still plenty of years to go yet so who knows MS might still find a way of closing the gap in the end.

Phil Spencer said they were ready to counter Sony's decisions, I wanna see what they come up with. I would imagine holiday deals will be insane for both consoles.
