Is it common to make big multi-topping sandwiches in the US?

You didn't realise I was joking in the post you last quoted me in? I literally said I was laughing at people who are too serious over this.

Serious or not, European bread is rank 3 at best anyway. Asian bread and bakeries are outstanding. They might actually be #1. Excellent sandwich breads as well.

Being the bread fanatic that I am (judge restaurants by their bread), nothing is better than warm freshly made bread with a crispy crust. Mmmm, I can have bread for dessert.

What goes into magic Eurobread that makes it inherently better? Maybe like, some flour and water? Some yeast perhaps? Smugness?
Good bakeries use less sugar. But that goes for any country. Extra sugar is often used to make the dough rise faster. Real bakers will get up at 3 am to give the dough the time it needs.

That's a bakery. Not even duscussing the filthy shit they sell in grocery stores.

Oh yes.

Agreed. I think we just have to give Europe time to learn how to bake bread properly and follow in the footsteps of the great American loaf.

Less corn syrup than American breads.
But is this just another sweeping generalization, like with the cheese? Joke or not?

We have brands here that specifically say "no HFCS" on the front.

That said, I haven't gone down the bread aisle looking at every brand seeing if they all have copious amounts of regular corn syrup in them.

And then there's the more gourmet or artisan style of bread, like if you went to actual bakeries and restaurants. I'm not sure how those would stack up either.

Oh shit I forgot we put literal ground up yoga mats into all our breads. Well if that's why all America Bread is better than eurobread, I can live with that.

Nah, there are Supermarkets that make it fresh at the store, at least where I go. my favorite has the bakery there and open you can see the whole process. Also a wide variety of exotic foods from all over the world. Fresh meats/seafood there too man I am making myself hungry.

If someone in America calls a Hamburger a sandwich they are not American or are writing some fluff on an advertisement.

Hamburger, Burger and CustomBurgerName (like Jumbo Jack or Whopper) are the only things that are acceptable.

Don't be stupid.

That's not fluff. That's stating in no uncertain terms that the Whopper is a sandwich.

Exotic is just an anagram for TOXIC

I was just trying to show how silly it was that some posters seem to get actually offended by such nonsense opinions. Are people so precious about the cuisine their country is reknowned for?

You know this is a discussion forum right?

And I'm sure that's what you were doing with your posts... definitely not something you made up after being called out.

We got it. You showed us how we're all idiots. Are you finished now? Is there anything left for you in this thread?

Why are you being so hostile? It was just a bit of fun. This thread is about sandwiches not the crisis in Syria.
I'm sure they don't mean to be hostile. It's just that these topics come up often and we want to set the record straight. The skewed perception of American food (in particular) is becoming sickening so yeah, you're going to have some "super defense force" type responses as well as kneejerk reactions.

Relax, this is a light-hearted thread. Not everything has to be serious.

Struggle sandwich is light-hearted. Constantly repeating the same ignorant nonsense (americans have no cheese, americans put sugar cubes in their bread, americans drink corn syrup and bacon while shooting guns) is just trolling. Endless trolling. It's not even a nationalistic or a us vs. you thing, it's just people drive by posting bullshit.

When I went to Drexel, one of the foodcarts nearby made the BEST breakfast sandwich ever. Oh my goodness was it so good. Unfortunately, they left when I graduated.

Food carts are usually the hidden gem of quality food.

I am a US citizen and don't take those silly jabs seriously. It's all in jest at the end of the day and not worth stressing about.

No, you made stuff up and tried to pass it off as joking.

It was a joke. Why would I try and seriously make it up when the US has many tasty cheese, a lot of which I've tried myself, including going on tours in North West Oregon.

Do you think I was seriously trying to spread properganda to non US posters that you don't have good cheese? Or is it more likely I was joking? I mean look at the shops I said. I deliberately said some (in my opinion) very good supermarkets.

You seem really upset. Probably because you're an American who guzzles straight bottles of HFCS instead of water, it's fucking with your brain, man. Drink some European water, it's better for you.

This is like the depressing stuff I'd eat back in college. Just buy whatever was the cheapest and try to make something edible from it.

No it's a normal breakfast sandwich that everyone makes and enjoys along with the rest of their breakfast. Nothing depressing about it.

Why do people insist on calling bread that you don't toast, toast?

From the pic, to us Americans, it looks like that was going to be toast, but you skipped the toasting.

To us: Butter goes on toast. It's not a sandwich spread, unless you're going to toast your sandwich bread.

I dunno, if you don't like someone's posts, and you spend a bunch of time looking at their older posts in an attempt to rek that poster...is it not you who is rekt? Have you not rekt yourself before you chekt yourself?

It's not toast though, it's limpa. It doesn't taste like toast at all and does not taste good if you toast it. It's still super weird to me that you don't use butter on non-toasted sandwiches though! Like I said earlier, we basically use spreadable butter exclusively for breakfast sandwiches.

This is like at the end of the party when all the dark liquor has been drank and the music is real low and people start getting hostile.

I'm calling an uber out of this thread, going to Netflix and Chill.
