Wow, that's a surprise. I expected Ant-Man's story to continue in other films not get its own sequel. But I enjoyed the film enough to be very happy about it, and the well-earned inclusion of Wasp.

I can't even pretend to be bothered about Captain Marvel's later release. The character has always been boring. Honestly, the best thing she ever did was give Rogue her powers. The only reason to look forward to the movie for me is seeing how they'd hopefully reinvent her to turn her into a formidable character.

As Whedon said, Fox has the best female Marvel heroes.

But boy would I love a She-Hulk series.

How does one do She Hulk on screen?

In terms of visuals?

Find a hot, tough chick. Paint her green. Then use tricky camera work.

I keep nominating Gina Carano.

She's got the build, does all her own stunts, and, while she's not exactly the best actress, the right director and right script can do wonders in that regard (Bautista wasn't exactly brilliant as an actor, but I love him as Drax).

Problem is I imagine her rights are tied to Hulk and Hulk's movie rights are still weird unless she ends up debuting in Infinity War.

Fox has another 8 years before the rights would revert. They can just try again!

If they want to do that X-men TV show, they're going to have to exchange SOMETHING to Marvel for the rights to do so.

It's really simple; "you want to do an X-men TV show? We want the Fantastic Four rights back. All of them. Silver Surfer, Galactus, Skrulls, Kang, Doctor Doom, etc."

Fox wants to do TV, but Marvel has to sign off on it. They won't without leveraging something in return.

Actually, those got clarified lately!
Marvel won back the Hulk movie production rights in 2005, after Universal failed to put a sequel to 2003's Hulk into immediate production. But they did not obtain the distribution rights, which Universal still has today. And Universal is confirmed to have the right of first refusal on the distribution of any Hulk movie planned for the future. If, or when, Universal chooses to forgo distribution, Disney will immediately pick up those distribution rights for a solo Hulk movie.

Yeah, Universal still holds the film rights for Hulk's solo films.

I wouldn't be surprised at this point if Captain Marvel was about Kamala Khan. Either they'll just make it a Ms. Marvel movie or Kamala will get an upgrade in the comics by the time the movie comes out.

Why try to make a character popular when her protege is one of the most popular new heroes in years?

Actually, I can see Kamala being introduced in Spider Man as a classmate of Peter's.

They hold distribution rights. So Marvel can still make any Hulk or Hulk-related movie they want, they just have to give Universal the chance to distribute it first

Which they won't do, since that's a lot of money

I was about to get angry, but then I realized this meant Black Panther's coming sooner.

How does one do She Hulk on screen?

I'm sure there's an actor out there fit for the role. Then again, she's my 2nd favorite super hero behind Aquaman, and I have no faith in the DC movies yet, so consequences be damned, I want them to find a good actress to put Jen on the big screen!

How is it any different from Ant-Man though?

In that sense, it isn't :P Though I think the plan was originally to open Phase 3 with Ant-Man wasn't it? And then I assume once they realized they could pull Civil War together for Cap 3, it made more sense to lead off phase 3 with that film and relegate Ant-Man to a phase 2 closer.

I think it just shows that no matter how much "planning" there is, the actual specifics of the "phases" can be moved around for commercial reasons and in the end it doesn't really affect stuff that much.

But this does suggest that the Inhumans royal family will not be playing a role in Infinity War at all.

Wow, they don't even have concrete plans or faith in their own property... this comes across totally reactionary...

... but seriously, really cool. For a second I was worried they pushed back the date to Black Panther again.

And there was a period where Sony was moving ahead with Amazing Spider-Man 3, a female led spin-off, a Venom spin-off, and a Sinister Six film. Things change.

Fox isn't in financial trouble lol.... Sony was. Sony still owns the rights to Spider-Man film...

That's a shame. Black Bolt vs Thanos writes itself.

Yay for Ant-Man! I was worried there wouldn't be a sequel. I'm Also happy about there being less of a wait for Black Panther. Still, it's a shame that a solo Female film continues to be pushed back, even if I don't find Carol to be all that interesting.

Inhumans might be isolated or a springboard for the post Infinity War story going into the next phase

A friend of mine told me about Ant Man 2 weeks ago. When I asked how he knew he said "dude, I work at Baskin-Robbins."

Inhumans seems like a weird note to finish on when Infinity War is just two months before.

Imagine Thanos killing the Avengers in Infinity War and the Inhumans rising after that, making the Royal Family public and all that. I don't think Marvel will have trouble fitting in Inhumans right after Infinity War Part 2.

Fantastic Four Domestic Total as of Oct. 6, 2015: $56,040,409

Lol, wow.

Now that I think about, you only saw a major push for that film the week of its release and run it just disappeared.

I know Marvel and Fox are not on good terms but I think it's time that pull a Sony and wave the white flag on the franchise.

I have so many conflicting feelings. Ant Man is my favorite Marvel movie... Captain Marvel is my favorite super hero... What am I supposed to feel?

Lol, why? Fox isn't even close to being in the same situation as Sony was... Sony as a whole was dying...

Ant-Man was a lot of fun - glad to see it's getting a sequel. I thought he would just be folded into other films in smaller roles. Really glad the Wasp gets a title.

I am, I am. I just really want my girl Carol to start getting some recognition. She's too awesome a character to be put on the back burner like this.

What is it, that is awesome about her in your opinion?

I honestly don't know much about her and just imagines her as a female Superman, as I have yet to read the origin story. If someone can tell me which is her origin, then I will gladly buy it on Comixology.

In Pursuit of Flight deals with it a bit. Down and Avengers: Enemy Within which are the follow-up collections are a better read though.

lol at the "LOOK! the first film in the MCU with a woman in the title!" when it's second billing and a sequel to a male solo.

Of course they had to bring attention to it, seeing as their female solo movie is being delayed now.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this name is here to dampen the blow and this movie gets renamed later on under the guise of "the title just wasn't working"

It could end up being named Ant Man 2: Subtitle (with possibly a wasp mention in the subtitle rather than Wasp being part of the main title)
