As far as recommendations go I just dropped the Q3 rapup...

And here are my favorite October release thus far:

Damn thank you for that, very detailed. I'll check out the recommendations too.

I've been mainly downloading TXL mixes so most of what I hear recently are singles or C list rapper's attempts at singles.

Siddx no problem man any time, been fiending for some new raps breh, you and T should hook back up.

Dereck this shit is fucking fire! Whole vibe is piff.

Ha! I feel like I'm getting too old and dusty to be allowed to rap anymore. Like someone will suddenly appear in my doorway and snatch the mic out of my hand and give me a glass of prune juice.

Mystikal- Unpredictable

Overall Score: 10
Thanks for the no limit reviews I've beem reading them... I heard some at the time but slept on a lot

I remember when I first listened to mystical my friend described him as a rapping james brown... I laughed but then realized I liked his features, I'll check this out properly

98% of father songs are garbage and the good ones are probably not the ones some gafhoppers like. Y'alls ennui is so weak it's transparent. You clown dudes like Cudi and Modern Era Classic Lames for obvious moves while being blinded by obvious bullshit with a budget. Post-irony is bullshit and you niggas are jokes.

Now I see why you just post anime gifs all the time...Leave the words to us breh, tis not your domain.

Anybody else find it kinda funny that Hopsin finally got the mainstream media attention he's been seeking his whole life by pretending to be an exaggerated trap rapper?

Yeah...he put out a video for No Words, no one is wondering why. He's got to know that that song would get him some attention. That aside, he's getting the attention from the people that don't really like his music. Maybe this praise will light a fire off under him and he'll change his music? Probably not

Eh, it's a slow day around here and I've been listening to XXX.

I think DNA - Nosebleeds - Party All The Time is one of the greatest stretches of songs in rap history (at least in my opinion).

Emotional journey encapsulated culturally (Detroit), and through a few characters perspectives while being highly personal to Danny. "DNA" about Danny's relentless need for drugs personally and with his own over the top, generic hip-hop needs (versace pillow case, bitches etc). That chorus I think many can relate to on a purely emotional basis. "Nosebleeds" is about a college student who should have been a success story ("got probation cause the parents paid the money"). Just another person absorbed by drugs and thus vanishing from her family/real life. "Party All The Time" painting the struggle of a female needing approval and seeking it in the shallow nature of the high life. This one might be about the same girl, but either way I feel this is a shockingly poignant and powerful portrayal of a female character. Being that this is such a human person developed in just 3 minutes. Although Danny shows this throughout his career (Juno off of Hybrid). The production that is so inherently blues-y, melancholy and stripped down. Not in your face, but backing up the characters with a tone that feels like the sad reality of life. The writing brehs.

Then afterwards we get three songs that paint the most vivid picture of Detroit possible. You can feel that shit. Before leading into what might be Danny's best song, 30.

Just a masterpiece man, really can't state that enough. A person's whole psyche put into an album. Yeah, I'm a stan but I wouldn't write this about Old.

This post gets me emotional. One of my top 3 albums of the last five years, easily. Copped it on vinyl about a month ago. I truly connected with the album. It simply never gets... Old.

I wonder what is stopping Goldlink from gaining momentum. Lack of peer recognition/collaboration seems to be the biggest one, but it also seems like there is zero enthusiasm from any media. Like, these outlets will hype alternative sounding dudes from time to time even if they get nowhere but there's like nothing for Goldlink. I don't think his style is too left or anything either.

Let the album drop before we jump to conclusions.

Well Enzo isn't wrong. Goldlink has a catchy ass sound but he hasn't had a hit despite making a lot of tracks in the past year and supposedly being pretty good live.

But yeah debut album and all.

Fuck I just realized I Get Around samples Computer Love. I've heard Computer Love a billion times and never put 1 and 1 together before now lol.

I made this video edit of kanye interview himself and arguing about whether 808s and yeezus are better than MBDTF... people seem to like it so heres a link, let me know what yall thiiink
