I'm talking about the PC community as a whole. We always were. I can literally see the holes from where goalpost was before you blasted it out of the ground.
The Steam forums are filled with it too, if that hits a little closer to home.
Also y'all are getting salty as hell about my opinion.

And x1 forums ps forums Nintendo forums are all similar. There are ignorant people everywhere.
Hilarious man. You have a far more toxic attitude than most PC gamers I know. Cancerous? Calm down. Also, plenty of jrpgs on PC these days and I'll say it again, the only console worth owning for those is the ones Nintendo makes. Other than than Japanese gaming has largely moved to mobile, except for some stragglers, almost all of which are also publishing on PC this gen. That's just the facts.Yeah because JRPG's don't exist.
I have mostly moved onto PC Gaming but I continue to buy consoles for the exclusives, almost solely Japanese ones. I own a Vita, 3DS, and WiiU already and I'm aiming to buy a PS4. As long as Japanese devs remain console-bound I'll keep buying them.
I game mostly on PC (here's my Steam profile before you pull some No True Scotsman bullshit), but I do not consider myself a PC gamer. They are easily the most cancerous and insufferably pieces of shit in the gaming community. They have no respect for gaming as a medium, and view it solely as a method of making pretty screenshots instead of actually making good fucking games.
You can tell they're a bunch of kids who live with their parents because they are so ignorant it's hilarious and sad. Gotta justify making mommy drop a grand to please your sorry ass I guess.
People on youtube say a lot of things, don't read the comments! Certainly isn't an opinion expressed by anyone here., "there are literally no good console games EVER" is still everywhere on the internet.
I literally never said they weren't. Stop acting like I think all console gamers are perfect little angels, I facepalm when people get into Sony vs Microsoft shitposting wars too.
But honestly console wars are pretty much relegated to those forums and youtube. PCMR stupidity like "gamepads are objectively inferior to keyboard and mouse in literally all games", "no console games are above 30FPS" (completely ignoring that the vast majority of console games were 60FPS until the PS360 generation), "there are literally no good console games EVER" is still everywhere on the internet.
The steam thread on gaf is 15% nintendo talk and a lot of people have PS4s and Xbox Ones. These radical pc gamers don't really exist!

GAF = literally the entire internet
It's on far more than just Youtube, by the way. I've had people tell me to my face that there have literally never been a good console game right after I finished playing F-Zero GX. I don't even bother arguing with them.
You guys think I'm just making this up? I've seen it over the past years constantly. Actively denying that something exist does not make it go away.

You comfort is not an objective unless you want to talk about what kind of keyboard and mouse you use vs a gamepad. If you have a shitty keyboard or mouse don't expect it to pleasant, bad keyboards or posture will encourage carpel tunnel to say the least. Also don't act like triggers don't cause problems or that buttons don't make your thumbs/fingertips sore when it's quite common knowledge.
With all that being said Valve is not going to gimp someone who pays for a decent mouse with raw input so your that crap ass analog can feel competitive to something superior in how it operates. This is like someone driving with out wheel wanting parity with someone who does. Why should a developer do the mental gymanstics and technical of balancing out this aspect of hardware when the from the get go one method is inferior for pointing and aquiring targets compared to the other tech. You use a pad accept what it does to your abilities in game like you accept how using some pc hardware makes you unconmofrtable. You can't balance it and developers have tried big and small only to find out whoops reality and technology do matter not silly notions of balance.
The same reason a keyboard isn't all that good on platformer besides not being the best at registering multiple inputs is because they layout sucks and the tech on buttons is nothing like a real mechanical keyboard, arcade sticks or a gamepad. Has nothing to do with devs but the tech that governs our inputs.
I've had people tell me to my face that PC exclusives are inferior to console games because they all use a mouse and keyboard instead of a controller.
Stop reading youtube game comments, stop reading twitch chat and stay far away from reddit. You are literally throwing yourself into a mine field of 10-20 year old socially inept shut ins with napkins full of Cheetohs lining the desks of their balls-to-the-wall, high octane gtx 770's in $50 towers.

Irrelevant. They are PC gamers too. You can't just act like they don't exist, that's a No True Scotsman fallacy.
For the thirtieth time, stop acting like I think console gamers are sinless angels. Those people are dumb too. I've literally said this like three times and you aren't listening

Humorous hyperbole is hostility now?
Whatever, I'm about done with this thread. It's obvious you guys are going to literally go to every length possible to whitewash all PC Gamers into glorious and sinless uebermenschen who can do literally no wrong.
CS:GO. I love it, but hate playing it. I wish I could play it competitively with a controller, but can't. These kinds of games should be optimized so that controller players and keyboard/mouse players can effectively compete with each other.
Stop being so hostile about everything. You're not going to last long here with that attitude.

I am listening, but you keep using the same argument over and over and over. "PC Gamers are cancerous scum!" "PC gamers talk so much crap about console games!"
It's the same exact thing you're doing. Someone tries to point something out and you fall back on the same thing. At this point I'm having a hard time distinguishing if you're serious in your grievances or simply trolling for amusement.
Funny thing is no one said this. In fact quite a few acknowledged that the community has its bad sides and jerksHumorous hyperbole is hostility now?

I'm still of the opinion that the industry should look at newer input methods then. Think about how hilarious it is that a keyboard and mouse were never designed to play games, yet absolutely excel at precision shooting. And controllers were designed to play games, and do a shit job at precision. It's ludicrous when you think about it. It should be the other way around. Yet, it's not. To me that means we need to start over again. That's hardly possible, it just isn't in certain kinds of games. At least not without either seriously handicapping kb/m or giving gamepads such amounts of autoaim that it would become ridiculous. And there still would be the issue of movement and changing your view precisely 180° and back in an instant. Some games are designed for certain input methods and that's how it should be, you lose some potential players but homogenizing everything will have the same effect eventually.
Not once have I attack PC games. My grievances lie with PC gamers. I play on my PC quite frequently, I just dislike the community.

At least from the gamer perspective, for me, the main issue is control input. I'm a controller guy. A keyboard and mouse is not even objectively better even for an FPS, because while it is more functional, it is not more comfortable. I'm a comfortable gamer.
Main example:
CS:GO. I love it, but hate playing it. I wish I could play it competitively with a controller, but can't. These kinds of games should be optimized so that controller players and keyboard/mouse players can effectively compete with each other. The mouse will always likely have a small advantage no matter what effort is put into closing the gap, but that's OK. An auto aim component to offset the inherent precision of a mouse needs to be included in games that offer both. Yet, this is always absent from most controller enabled shooters on PC for some strange reason. Nobody wants to put an effort in to balancing the different input methods.
Another great example is keyboard for platformers. It's generally not as good. There needs to be more effort put into closing the gap. A small gap is OK, but the current gap is unacceptable and is a development failure, not an end-user one. Maybe the Steam controller will help?

It's coming....I'm still of the opinion that the industry should look at newer input methods then. Think about how hilarious it is that a keyboard and mouse were never designed to play games, yet absolutely excel at precision shooting. I just think the industry can create better inputs than we have. Such a huge disparity should not exist between the primary methods of input.Gamepads and Mouse + Keyboard are two very different forms of input. Of course sometimes one kind of input will be better at certain games than another type of input. And there's nothing inherently wrong with that. One of the greatest draws of PC is its flexibility. I can play CS:GO with my mouse and keyboard, then switch to playing Ys Origin with a gamepad with no effort. If you have a preference, that's fine, and PC allows you to choose.
PC lets you use what type of input you want for most games, and that's something to be celebrated, not complained about.
I have that keyboard. It works great, I just wished the keys were illuminated.
It's coming....
But you are right. I remember years ago for the orginal Xbox there was the fps controller that had all the face buttons mapped to the back of the controller. I loved using it for Halo 2. I wish that had caught on more.

Found it. It didn't have great ergonomics but it was very handy in Halo 2.
I was psyched for the Steam controller too, but early feedback suggests it's still shit for precision shooting... so back to square oneIt's coming....
There we go again with the Nazi analogies that no one in here ever brought up. Fuck you. FYI I pm'd a mod and will do that from now on every time the 'master race' bullshit gets brought up by consoleGAFers without any provocation, I'm sick of it.
Then the solution is to throw away the inputs we have and make better ones. It's really that simple. If the controller is going to suck for certain things and keyboard and mouse suck for others, they BOTH suck and need to go. I think we've all got too accustomed to thinking control inputs always have to have strengths and weaknesses. I mean, look at the market you miss by only making a game for one input method. It's ridiculous.
The ergonomics would probably be find if you could split the thing in half and use it as 2 different controllers.
