Sony : Paris Games Week press conference dated

Considering Shuhei himself has said we can look toward past Gamescom events for what to expect from PGW, we shouldn't be expecting anything too huge. Just updates on previously announced games along with creative indie and collaborative titles.

Probably something like:
- First party sizzle reel (UC4, Horizon, TLG, Ratchet)
- Dreams gameplay demo
- New trailers and possible release dates for games like RIME, Alienation, and Wild
- A couple of compelling smallish announcements that are in conjunction with Sony Xdev like Ovosonico's new game (guys who did Murasaki Baby)
- A few third party games like always
- Quantic Dream's new game as the big announcement

I'm hoping to see a Day of the Tentacle remake trailer and hopefully an announcement of the rumored alternative version of The Dig.

I really want to see Wild and Rime. Any chance to see ¿ Deep Down ? dont think so.

Sony Bend´s game makes me hype without knowing nothing..

and all VR game compatibles

PSone/PS2 compatibility for the PS4 is another one I think could end up being a PX announcement. That's intended to be Sony's big fan event each year, and the ability to play games from those consoles are big fan requests.

My pick as well.
Delievering an update that goes live on PSX day, where some really big fan requests are part of the programm and obviously the classics to promote their love for the players.

Would be also quite nice for those that are attending to play them live at PSX.

With the PEGI PS4 rating on Dark Butt 2 (or dark Chronicle) , Ape Escape 2, and Twisted Metal Black. There's a high chance they might talk about PS2 classics in a shape or form coming to PS4.

But with them being re-rated, that simply implies a re-release on current gen hardware and not straight up software emulation of PS1/PS2 titles, doesn't it?

I don't think so. I mean, I would expect them to do a P3S-ish move and just put it out on the ps3 with no hd touches. These 3 titles were rated on the ps4. Maybe Sony managed to get these games running on the emulation and are ready to be tested by the public/press on PGW. Kinda like how PS Now was tested when announce at CES 2014. I believe they had last of us and puppeteer ready to be demonstrated and tested.

If it is a straight up re-release with no emulation invloved, that would be kinda odd. I mean, why didnt they just done a HD remaster for the ps3 first? I don't know. If this were to bs some kinda plan of Sony has to make these relevant due to new instalments coming to these franchise, I guess makes sense???

I don't know. So many scenarios. We'll just see how they play out. I personally want to see PS1/PS2 software emulation.

I think UC4 and Horizon will have more than just a sizzle reel. I'd expect a new demo from at least one of the two.

PS1 and PS2 titles that get PSN releases get re-rated as well and those are emulated. The questions are more about whether or not the games will have enhancements and if Sony will allow disc based support or choose to block it like assholes instead.

what are the chances of a no man's sky release date?

High chance, unless Sean...

Anybody else feel the Paris Games Week PS4 conference is just not worth it, considering they have PSX in a couple months?

My expectation is that some good stuff will be shown at PGW along with PSVR (maybe also PS1/2 classics as well if you're that optimistic), and the long term core gaming announcements are for PSX. But both will be interesting.

I think it's going to be if you like indie games. Since this is the conference they usually have announced them before. Btw does anyone have a countdown clock for the conference.

I just feel as if there is not really anything to announce or get excited about except smaller things. If something good is announced I will be fine. Also TGS for Sony makes sense, since it actually has different games that appeal to that demographic where Europe plays the same games America does.

Didn't zoetis say that pgw was going to be better than e3? I'm not sure what could happen or how that's possible tbh. Did he hint at it?

He said it'd be better in terms of the first party output.

They show small to big at their European conference. Everything from rain and Rime to Resistance 3 and Puppeteer have been announced at gamescom conferences in the past.

I'm unsure how Sony could top E3 with PGW. They would have to reveal GT7 (own event/PSX), Bends game (PSX) and GOW4 (PSX/E3 '16) to even stand a chance?

Unless I'm missing some other Sony first party games? I do worry about the amount of games pushed back to next year given Sony will be using a lot of time and money launching PSVR.

I'd love it to be the case, though.

I wonder if they mean as far as more gameplay of announced games or new first party announcements.

I only believe that in the sense that I think all GamesCOMs have been stronger than E3.

Things like Rime, Wild and Egttr get announced. And I am mostly more excited for esoteric titles with AAA production values.

But otherwise it's impossible to top Shenmue 3, FFVII and TLG. It can't be topped in the 'forum wars'. Just a shame they went down that route, because it's just stupid in my opinion. None of those announcements will be able to turn into a product that lives up to it's hype.

If they reveal GoW4 soon, bet it'll destroy everything. SSM are wizards and I can't wait to see the mindmelting visual fidelity they'll achieve with the next game.

I'll be happy just to have the option, i don't rally care about whether i can use my old disks or not. If they disallow people who have already bought PS Classics on PSN from getting the games they already bought for free on the other hand, that's just being an asshole.

Quantic Dream's new game ALONE should be enough to hype the PS faithful. That's a big AAA title that's going to get announced - cause it has to. Everything else is gravy and boy does the gravy look good.

A video flickers into action. David Cage appears on screen and begins by apologising for not being there in person. In the video he talks about his new project, but just before he reveals it, the video freezes. There's a moment of pause and David Cage walks on with a controller in hand. As he continues from where the video left off, he rotates the computer generated David Cage on the screen ...

'Ladies and gentlemen, here is Kara.'
