I thought this deserved its own thread. And, it also acts as a PSA, as the game price will increase when the update releases, so you have a few days left to grab it at normal price (and you'll get the update for free, ofc).

This is basically an overtime mode that includes new stages.

Info from Playism page:

"Kero Blaster ZANGYOU Mode" update coming on Oct 11th!

On October 11th, we will release the upgrade of Kero Blaster, "Kero Blaster ZANGYOU Mode" which has more stages than the original. If you already bought the current version, you can download the new version for free once it is released.
We are planning to increase the price due to this upgrade, so you will actually be getting the upgraded version at fantastic discounted price if you buy it now.

Sadly Pixel hasn't released a new video/trailer from the new mode/stages yet (afaik).

And, before you ask, nope this is not on Steam (yet). Last thing we've heard from Playism is that they are "listening" to us about it, but nothing official as of yet.

Also, you can check out for free the recently released Pink Heaven, which is the sequel to Pink Hour. Those act as "Demos" for the main Kero Blaster game, but they really are little standalone games. Also keep in mind that those are super short (as they are free), and that they could be a lot harder/trickier than Kero Blaster.

That's basically it. Hopefully this gives the game a little more exposure, as it's awesome and it deserves it!! :D

I should probably buy this.

I was hoping a 3DS version would eventually happen since Tyrone Rodriguez teased one, but it looks like that's never happening so I'll just get it on PC.

Yeah, I was also waiting for that one, but it seems that it was just a tease :( Anyway, I'm glad that the game didn't stay iOS only and that I can use a controller on PC (although I've read that it controls pretty well on iOS too).

I'll play through it several times on both platforms. There is a chance that Kero Blaster might be my GOTY for two years in a row <3

I've been excited for the 3DS port since Nicalis teased it years ago, but Nicalis gonna Nicalis. :(

Worst "indie" publisher ever I swear.

How's the iOS version?

So that was what he was tweeting.

Game is amazing, LOVED it on iOS. It's insane how well it controlled and Pixel doesn't get enough credit for making such an amazing full fledged shooter work so fantastically on a touch screen.

Just heads up. The update's out (v1.40), at least on Playism.

Most likely I won't be able to play until later tonight, but according to the game's manual, looks like you have to see the ending at least one, start a new game and then select "Overtime Mode".

Can't wait to try it out!!

Loving it so far. I'm almost done I think.
Holy crap, this last boss never ends. I need to take a break haha.

It's so good <3 The new levels are superb, so glad we're getting more Kero Blaster. BTW Pink Heaven (sequel to Pink Hour, which is a prologue for Kero Blaster) is out, free, and super charming and fun.

Man, I wish this would come to Steam so people don't sleep on this superb game. It's so neglected.

I've made it to the stage 4 boss so far in Overtime mode. Really love the redesigned levels. But sometimes I wish it were just a bit harder. I feel spoiled by the hard modes in both Pink Hour and Pink Heaven. I would really dig a Kero Blaster game which is entirely like that. Overtime Mode feels like somewhere in between Kero Blaster and Pink Heaven Hard Mode in terms of challenge.

Finished it this morning (iOS). I really love this game. It's just the right amount of difficult for me.

Anyways so after beating it, similar to the regular game,
the guy asks if you want more (or something) and you say yes, pick a save, and move on to 'extra mode'. Seems like it's just like the first game at first, but I went on to the secret area (beginning of third level I think?) where you originally get the Kuro Blaster.

Not sure if just am not remembering correctly, but this version sends you through a bizarre set of levels at this point where if you die you start back at the beginning of stage 3. I've gotten through about 3 or 4 'screens' so far. A lot of them are just pitch black and you're falling and have to float to the platform at the bottom or else you fall to your death.
.

I'm going to keep at it but wondering if anyone else has made it through these and what it entails.

Hmmm, I noticed something odd with the Kero Rhythm soundtrack in v1.40. First the good news is that the tracks are 320kbps now, and there are also 4 new tracks for a total of 30 tracks now. The weird part is that the 2 Pink Hour tracks which were previously in the soundtrack package are no longer there.

Any plans on adding the tracks back along with the Pink Heaven tracks? :P

Yeah I found that area too.
It's a glitch zone which allows you to get the Kuro Blaster at the end. I guess they felt the weapon was too powerful and easy to get the first time round, so now you have to navigate something much trickier to attain it.

I finished it last night.
The last part of he last boss definitely gave me a lot of trouble, but once I started using the lazer uzi more it took like 2 tries. Using the penguin handcar to get through the stage never got old.

I was kinda expecting just some extra levels with a minimum amount of story, so it was a nice surprise that the update is basically a whole new game. I liked the use of flashbacks to flesh out the Boss a little bit. And of course the Pink Office Lady is as charming as ever.

Okay, I think I've milked all there is out of the game for now. Looking forward to doing it all again next month when it hits Steam. Lol. Hope the cards are cool. :)

There's really an impressive amount of new content for a free update:

- Overtime Mode is a brand new story campaign complete with cutscenes between every stage.

- The first six stages in Overtime Mode are completely redesigned and remixed versions of the original stages. Same assets and bosses, but each boss and mini-boss encounter is rearranged in some way. Sometimes they're pretty minor changes, sometimes they're few very different.

- The final stage in Overtime Mode is brand new with new backgrounds, enemies, and several new bosses including an extensive new final boss.

- The acquisition method for Kuro Blaster in Extra Mode has been modified. Now instead of just going into the secret areas and getting the weapon or the upgrades immediately, the three secret areas each lead to an extensive glitch level with the wweapon/upgrade at the end. They can be pretty tricky, and there are no checkpoints in the glitch levels.

- The final glitch level has a unique ending roll of sorts. It's... interesting.

- There are now in-game achievements which you can unlock. I think all of them involve clearing the game in the various modes and under special circumstances like beating each mode while wearing the winter jacket, with full health, etc. Evil shit.

Not sure if I missed anything. I cleared both Overtime Mode and Extra Mode. What I haven't done is play the normal mode after the upgrade, so I'm not sure if they added stuff there.
