TMZ: Lamar Odom Found Unconscious In Nevada Brothel

The most amazing thing about this thread is how many Lamar Odom fans we apparently have on GAF. Who knew?

Dude was a NY High School legend. My older brother had a chance to see him and Ron Artest play HS ball when he was in Varsity. They were absolutely filthy.

In glad to hear he's in stable condition.

Yea I agree, but right now Garnett and Duncan are 39 and if they wanted to hang around a few more years I think they could and still contribute to a team. Paul Pierce is 38 and I think he has a few more good years left in him. Ray Allen is 40 and still officially a free agent who I think can be a huge pickup for a playoff contending team.

All of those players are hall of famers who never had any significant injuries aside from Paul Pierce getting stabbed that one time.

Was his injuries that bad? I haven't read all the details. He is only 35 now and allot of decent ball players have remained in the league around there early to mid 40's and still have been able to produce coming off the bench giving minimal minutes to a team in need.

Injuries? Do you mean prior to the multiple strokes and massive drug overdose? Have you ever met a stroke victim? He'll be fortunate to get his speech back.

I know Bruschi came back post stroke, but his was caught early and treated fast, he was also younger than lamar.

I wonder what some of ya'll do with your lives outside of the internet.

Sarcastically complaining about people wishing a man well and hoping he pulls through? shit is lame as fuck

I never understand how people can't grasp the concept wishing well or mourning celebrities. Yes death happens every day, yes we didn't personally know this person, but we enjoy these people whether admiring their talents, enjoying their art, or in Odom's case watching him compete.

I always wonder if these same people can feel any emotion when reading stories, watching movies, listening to music, etc. The characters in those things are often fictional. If not they may just have a low eq, either way they should respect others emotions.

My mom has had two strokes, her speech and all her vitals are fine. Her doctor has said she has made a full recovery from both and there is no setbacks or ailments now that show that she has suffered from any in the first place

Of course, people can recover very well from strokes and regain their livelihoods. But whether one can play professional sports post-stroke is a totally different story.

He asked me if I ever met a stroke victim, he then went on to name Teddy Bruschi a former NFL football player having one and being able to return to play football after. Bruschi was 32 when he had his stroke and returned to play one of the most physical professional sports in the world. What I get from all this is if Lamar recovers enough and even wants to think about making a return to the league he needs to hit Teddy Bruschi up and ask him what his process was like.

And you didn't read my post. Teddy was never unconscious, he was treated asap and not on a lethal dose of various drugs. Lamar is in a coma, if you can't see through difference I don't know what to tell you.

Edit- lamar also multiple organ failure, inability to breathe without machines, likely heart damage from prolonged cocaine use. That's like comparing a fender bender to a devastating accident.

Glass half empty vs glass half full. The most important thing is the man pulled threw and is alive. You don't have to tell me anything else, thanks for the exchange and reminder that anything is possible.

Yeah its not a matter of perspective its a matter of common sense. Your arguments are false equivalence based on other cases that had drastically different circumstances.

Blind optimism here is ignoring the facts. He has multiple organ failure and sustained multiple strokes. I seriously doubt he will play professionally again. Heck, he may not walk. I don't think this is a half full/half empty thing .

I wish I could get TMZ to look into my problems with the state comptroller, to find out why they're so slow. They're on top of this shit, man. At this point they know more than the doctors.

The NBA star gorged on KFC chicken and three T-bone steaks at a time. A bucket from the takeaway outlet was still in the fridge of the VIP suit yesterday, along with watermelon in a box and sugar-free red bull.

Could we please not talk about Lamar Odom eating chicken and watermelon. Neither of those two things are noteworthy outside of the fact that they are stupidly associated with racial profiling/mocking.

That breathing the whole time is great and will hopefully mean he recovers.

I know Khloe has feelings for LO, but I feel she brings bad vibes being there.

C'mon man, they raided his fridge. Cocaine, prostitutes, chicken, watermelon hahahah wtf. Lamar should survive this so he can dropkick the media.

really a kardashian broad might bring bad vibes?

fuck this whole story, the second i saw kris being quoted about anything on CNN any and all trust in any facts being spread was frisbeed out the window

If I were in my 70s or 80s and got a bad diagnosis... this is exactly how I would want to go out. At 35 though? This is tragic. I hope the strokes did not do too much damage. The biggest hurdle will always be addiction, I hope surviving this will put him back on track for good.

My wife suspects the police planted the fried chicken and watermelon.

I have to disagree. Popeyes' chicken has more of a distinct texture and flavor it to it while KFC's is solid but mostly generic outside the occasion it's prepared and spiced just right. Popeyes also has the biscuit game on lock between the two.

Neither are great, I just find more often thatn not that popeyes is a little too dry for my tastes.

1. Take home a box of Popeyes.
2. Open box and lather it with hot sauce and honey.
3. Let that shit sit, either room temp or fridge.
4. Warm up and beast it when you're ready.

* warming up is optional, it's even great out the fridge.

If I'm being honest Korean joints got the best fried chicken. It's basically the thing hav was saying with the honey hot sauce. Fry then glaze. It's basically the orange chicken thing.

They really raided his fridge/trash to report that he was eating fried chicken and watermelon.

The media really are massive peices of shit. That's a fucking pathetic story to report. Great to see him hanging on.

LOL. Yes sadly. Rarely, if ever, have I seen a crime/emergency scene's fridge being raided and exposed. They truly did this for the lulz, cops on the scene were probably laughing hard.

yeah, I have only had this once after a drunken night out and it was delicious. Now you put it back on my radar.

"Lamar Odom has had significant improvement in his condition in the last 24 hours and now he's breathing completely on his own.

Our hospital witnesses say Lamar has been taken completely off the ventilator. We're told he's still wearing an oxygen mask to increase his oxygen levels.

Another big improvement ... Lamar has been responding to doctors both physically and verbally today and his heart is still doing well.

That said, Lamar still has major medical issues ... several organs are still not responding.

As our source put it, "this is the best 24 hours he has had so far."
