Just noticed all the dead bodies around them
It also has some terrible writing.
The Lucas we knew and loved died the second he thought up ewoks. No Star Wars at all without George though.
Is Kylo Ren really going to have the generic "kidnapper on the phone with a voice modulator" voice? That's the only thing that very deeply bothered me about this trailer.

Yeah, it's amazing the feelings it's conjuring up. I'm older and grew up with Star Wars but after the disappointment that was the prequel trilogy these trailers are just tugging all the right heart strings. Abrams seems to know what he's dealing with and I don't think we'll be disappointed.
FWIW my brother and I went to a midnight opening night showing of Ep 1 and it was dead silent when the lights came up. No clapping. Someone finally yelled out "That sucked!". We wanted to like it but we were so let down. It kinda looked like star wars but it didn't feel like star wars. I generally don't acknowledge the prequels and have no interest in rewatching them.

Holy shit, gonna be a great scene.

Bullshit. George's original work is trash before it became movies where other people made it better. His original is nothing like the movies.
My favorite part is finns face when kylo is coming at him. fuck i cant wait for that scene. we dont usually get a lightsaber duel where someone is completely outmatched and scared.
Excuse my ignorance, but are storm troopers not clones any more? Finn is legitimately a trooper on the run?
Purely speculation as I don't read spoilers! But if Kylo is trying to finish what Vader started... dude's obviously missing some key information there, namely that Vader didn't start anything and that he turned good at the last minute. I'm thinking that maybe instead of, at the end of the new trilogy, just killing the bad guy, would it be more powerful if something happened to where Kylo gets the missing information gaps and realizes that his entire goal and motivation is working from a broken foundation, and ends up becoming good, or is he too far gone?
I think it'd be neat, and I'm ready to meet disagreement because it's Star Wars and opinions are all over the place and everything always sounds horrible to everyone, but what if Anakin appeared to Kylo right as Kylo is about to do something unspeakably awful in Episode IX, and talks him down from it and explains that his "idol" was a good person that went through some bad things but turned good again in the end? I think with good dialogue and performances that something like that could be really powerful, emotionally.

That would be straight cheese

That scene where Finn and Poe meet under the X-Wing Finn looks at him as if he "senses" something wrong with him. Maybe Poe is a New Order mole.
Bless JJ for his mysterious, restrained trailer style. This looks amazing.
Execution is pretty important. And Star Wars is full of cheese. The way you're probably seeing it in your head is probably just as awful as one could imagine, but that's why we're not filmmakers.
Source?
. Lucas worked with his friends Gloria Katz and Willard Huyck to revise the fourth draft into the final pre-production script.
I'm happy that the trailer didn't reveal Kylo removing his mask, revealing the face of Benedict Cumberbatch.

Well I can tell you one thing, if Hayden Christensen's mug appears anywhere in this film I'm walking out and knocking over magazine stands
That's Han, bruv. Brown leather jacket and old white guy hair.
BTW what theater and showing are you going too since you said you'll be in stl?Agreed. The payoff is going to be so great if Finn ends up becoming a Jedi down the road and goes toe to toe w/ Kylo in a future movie.

The draft up until the final were all trash. 3-4 years of no luck and then finally these two come and everything is A-OK. Yep, George Lucas did it!
I hope it happens, as Hayden is really good in everything else I've seen him in, and it would be nice for him to get another shot under better writing and direction. Also love watching prequel haters squirm so that's another plus.
