Jurassic World sequel eyes J.A. Bayona as director; World War Z 2 may impede

As a film of the original and of dinosaurs, this is definitely a multi-viewing film for me. And noticing the little things and getting a better understanding with each viewing coupled with the behind the scenes revelations and pre-release interviews are enough to put the film above your typical summer blockbuster for me.

What I mean is, I've been on board with the "bored teenagers at a dinosaur zoo" and "go bigger" themes and I love the idea of making this film from a kid's perspective for kids instead of trying to please the fickle JP legacy crowd.

That's fine. It's definitely the angle they should have gone for, rather than a wholesale reboot. I just don't really feel like it went very far with the concept. Too much focus on the stupid military dino aspect that is an obvious sequel setup with little payoff, and Pratt's character didn't really do it for me. Experiencing things from the kids perspective was absolutely the better part of the movie and the best way for things to be surprising - Owen's "I told you so" shtick just didn't get a lot of mileage in comparison IMO.

I also really love the original and am glad they didn't attempt to replace it, but revisit and build on it. It's absolutely the sequel to Jurassic Park we deserved this whole time, but I don't feel like it was the second coming of Raptor Jesus like some make it out to be. Harmless movie with just a little too much indulgence in the stupid to make it a classic for me, don't know why others get so offended by it.

Trying to decide the better of two evils here

I really want JW2 to be good. The franchise deserves another unambiguously good movie after 23+ years. Is there any chance this guy can deliver?
