Sonic Lost World Launches on Steam November 2nd.

Can't wait to mod this game and see what it can do. Hopefully they fixed super sonic's double mouth and the animation glitch when he does Parkour stuff. They seemed to have just copy pasted his original animations and didn't bother reanimating the quills.

Hey everyone!

I saw there was some confusion about the price point, so I asked around and got the confirmed actual prices for everyone. They are:

£19.99/$29.99/€27.99

Thanks!

So did anybody go to that special event where they showed this off at?

According to a few people on Twitter the controls are much better but they haven't clarified how. I'm guessing they're just talking about not having to use a touchscreen for the Wisp powers (although I think they patched that out of the Wii U version too).

Also apparently they removed the multiplayer. Why do PC ports always do that?

I don't think the touchscreen/gyro controls were all that egregious, tbh. But I guess I didn't run into them that much. I know that later on they patched quite a few things into the Wii U version, like 100 rings giving you a 1up, 10 lives when you continue and non-gamepad esque controls. But I still think those problems were pretty minor in the grand scheme of things of Lost World.

I'm guessing that translates to: I don't like the gamepad so this is better. Which that's fine and all, but there are some issues with the way Sonic controls that I wish they would address.

Saw this posted on Sonic Retro, I guess it was taken on the community event a couple days ago.

It's nice seeing them taking the keyboard controls into consideration in the interface, makes me wonder how it'll control with keyboard/mouse (though I intend to play it with a controller anyway).

They should've ported Colors to PC instead. Lost World is already 60 fps on Wii U so it doesn't really benefit much from being on PC.

I'd like to get this but the game is overall bland.
Yes it'd perform well but the game itself leaves so much to be desired. Should modders manage to get something ready in a few months I'd def. pick it up.

Really though it should've been Sonic Colors to come to Steam, that one is closer to Generations which sold well on Steam.

I pushed myself to beat Lost World on Wii U. There would need to be some major mods to improve it if i were to ever replay it on PC.

It got worse the more you play, especially before it was patched. The free DLC levels are the best part about the game. Oh and the soundtrack is good.

It's a shame it probably won't come with the Yoshi and Zelda themed levels. Those were really good.

And I hope the improved controls people are mentioning actually mean they've improved how it controls. The way things like wallrunning worked was way too janky and awkward.

I wonder if modders will put the Yoshi and Zelda levels in the PC version. If they can put Unleashed levels in Generations, then certainly they will be able to import levels coming from the same game.

I'm really surprised they've never done a PC port of Unleashed. Especially since it randomly turned up on PSN last spring.

A definitive edition that combined the SD and HD stages would be cool, but that's a total pipe dream.

More support coming to PC is good in general, just a shame this isn't really the best Sonic game to demonstrate the platform with.

Agreed on both accounts, but I'll prolly nab it just to encourage more PC ports from Sega.

What I don't get is how Sega can get away with saying 60fps is a new feature for Lost World on PC when it's clearly not.

And honestly, the best they have to offer is Racing Transformed with a pre-order, IMO.

Interested in seeing if it's the same port team from Sonic Generations, Binary Domain, and Valkyria Chronicles. If so, then I guess we shouldn't expect another cool PC port from Sega until this time next year.

More than worth it at that price. I paid full and wasn't too disappointed, Super Sonic was enough of a motivation to go grab all the red rings, which expands the play length well.

Doesn't stop the Deadly Six from being bizarre non-sequitors in universe. You'd think they were pitched for what eventually became Sonic Boom or something, they just don't belong.

But a solid game. Just watch out for sudden, unexpected deaths.

This what kinda killed the Sonic DS games to me... And the later GBA games, too. Too many sudden deaths because of spikes or bottomless pits.

Thanks for warning us, now I know what to expect from Lost World.

Played the demo on Wii U. The controls were clumsy and the game felt a bit boring. Seems like some people dug it though. I can't imagine it will stay at $30 long on Steam.

That HD resolution fits really well with the art style and the 60fps.

Lost World is a solid effort IMHO. It has some weird design choices but overall is fine.

I dont understand why Sega uses that incredible boring and annoying tune with the trailer, instead some of the great themes within the game.
