Lab Zero's Indivisible to feature indie guests (Shantae, Shovel Knight, Juan, & more)

Getting Japanese crossover characters just does not seem likely in the least.

Japanese companies are too protective and the approval process would likely be absolutely grueling. They'd probably want licensing money, too.

While I'm open to platform-exclusive crossovers, I think it's actually quite a good thing that everyone we've announced is available on all the platforms we're targeting.

No, I agree, that was just a bit of pie-in-the-sky thinking of characters that would match up nicely to the designs of the actual cast. There's not many that immediately come to mind (which I suppose says a lot about your game's style - a major reason I backed it, to be honest).

Exactly

I figured as much. It's really not worth the trouble.

Japanese indies are probably not too hard to work with? I mean Inticreates loaned out Gunvolt to Runbow and considering IGA owns the Bloodstained IP, if he was interested I don't think getting to use Miriam would be super hard. You would know better than I would of course so maybe I'm just stupid wrong here.

1 million and 11 days left
it's not going to make it

Well, people like me are about to download the PS4 demo, and if I enjoy that, I'm in for $30 and if it's close to the wire at the end I'll up to $60.

Hopefully there's a lot of folks with my attitude.

if you like the sounds of this and haven't backed yet... you got some thing to getting on with

Until just today I was one of those fencesitters, waiting for someone else to come along and fund the game. Now that I've pledged my wallet to Lab Zero, I have found salvation.
Join me, fencesitters.

Miriam would be kinda sweet, not gonna lie.
Weren't they talking about how Bloodstained poisoned the crowdfunding well by asking for only 10% of their budget, and that was why Indivisible was having trouble? Pretty sure I heard them say that in a video.

We didn't say Bloodstained "poisoned the well," it's just that most people don't know that Bloodstained only had to raise 10% of their game's actual budget on KS to get the game made.

So a lot of people look at our campaign and go "Why do they need 3X what Bloodstained did!?" even though our total budget is lower.

I hope that this will be funded, as I would love to do some freelance design or character clean-up on this project.I tried getting some work when the Skullgirls DLC was in production, but I never got a reply back for my application test.

Personally, my favorite indie additions, if there are more, would be:
- Red or The Kid (Transistor/Bastion)
- Volgarr
- The Champion (Mark of the Ninja)

PLEASE GET FUNDED PLEASE GET FUNDED PLEASE GET FUNDED :(

The character design for this game is soooooooo good.

Let's be realistic here.
...what was unrealistic about that quote? It just said it would push the campaign a lot. It probably will, especially when the word gets out on the source game's social media channels. Like, I mean, that was part of the point of this move I imagine.

It'll help, but I don't think it'll do much in the end. The deadline is too close and the funds needed too big, so I don't see this one having a happy ending unfortunately. But that's just me being pessimistic, since the pessimist is never disappointed.

It's astounding that this isn't funded by now, and we aren't working on stretch goals. I understand why, with people repeatedly saying "I'll just wait until it comes out!", but it's still shocking.

If this doesn't get funded I'll legit cry. I just played the prototype on the PS4. This needs to be fleshed out to a full-fledged game. I hope someone like Atlus jumps in at the last minute, because if they will back something like Citizens of Earth I see no reason for them not to get behind this.

Like... maybe? The news still hasn't sunk in yet and there's already been a notable bump in funding. There's a demo out for consoles circulating now and 900k is hardly insurmountable for a campaign with enough momentum, which moves like this generate.

I think being a cynic is anyone's prerogative but if you're really crossing your fingers for this I can think of pretty much anything better than trying to play down any excitement for the campaign and talking up how impossible or useless it is. You wind up sounding really disingenuous. What will happen will happen. It's personally very tiring to wade through tons of concern over the campaign that does nothing but kick rocks.

Give it some time. Once official guest character art starts to float around with the news we'll see what happens.

Smaller goals and different site of course, but relatively, I've seen some crazy final 48 hours over on Kickstarter

Between the demo and indie news, I'm not giving up hope yet

Things that are useful right now and accomplish something:
-Contributing
-Remaining positive
-Sharing media and information about the game via social media
-Telling people who you know who might be interested in this game about it
-Playing the prototype or watching a run-through to learn more about it if you don't know much about the game

Things that are not useful right now and accomplish nothing:

-DDDDDDOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!
-Being negative

Brilliant move, lab zero. There's nothing cooler than seeing all these studios willing to collab like this. I'm sure the guest characters will be done justice.

Indie Avengers assemble!

Obviously we're excited to work on these, but most exciting is that, yes, all these awesome indies trust us with their characters and want to see what we can do with them.

I consider this a huge vote of confidence in this project and in us.

They already have my money. Really hope they get what they need, this game seems pretty incredible from what's been revealed.
