Overdue books are of use.

Overdue books can be turned in at a retirement home at least. I suspect there's a library somewhere but haven't found one yet...

The rewards aren't awesome though.

Thanks, figured as much from the books, folders still stump me of why they aren't just junk.

Side question, anyone know if the tesla arc trap will only hurt enemies or will it hurt players/friendly settlers as well?

Anyone know what happens to companions when you piss off their faction? Will they leave for sure or will they stay if their approval is high enough?

Also, is it obvious when you're about to lock yourself out of the other factions?

Well well look what fell from the sky: (GAME SPOILER)

Question:
Where is the Alien or Alienblaster? There surely must be one but all I found was some green alien blood on the floor.

Follow the blood trail.

anyone know a good place to get 5.56mm ammo for the assault rifile? diamond city only stocks around 10-20 at a time and goodneighbor isnt much better. i chew through that in one encounter. is it really that rare?

I just got killed by some...thing? guy? invisible with 2 swords

whut? :o

Guys I didn't kill (Brotherhood of Steel early spoiler)
Paladin Brandis
because I had high charisma, but apparently people online who haven't done much think that killing this person is one of the few ways to get a BoS officer uniform.

Please tell me there's another location or way to get one. I tried to go back to where he was and he's gone now, not at the base either.

Please tell me there is a place where you can build ontop of a roof or maybe even a sky scraper

What are the gameplay benefits of having a settlement?

Well for once you can store all your loot inside your own base. You gain caps. It is fun building stuff. Minecraft. You gain Wasteland Swag.

The heart of New Vegas was surrounded by high steel walls and guarded by Securitrons, the outside of the Strip was supposed to be hostile. And, those NCR Sharecropper farms were pretty massive more than enough for me to believe they could feed the population.

Diamond City is surrounded by high steel walls and guarded with... guards... (that have so far appeared highly effective against super mutants as I've observed them) and turrets.

The NCR has their central military command taking potshots from raiders 20 feet away from its walls. They have even more reason to have their surroundings under control than Diamond City.

Massive?

I'll give you bigger than Diamond City, but massive they are not. I feel trade is a more likely source of most of the food as New Vegas is very decadent. And while Diamond City may appear to have less food production, they are simultaneously less decadent and have fewer people overall, and so probably require less to survive.

Oh the whole "what do they eat" criticism again? They put some farms here and there for you guys, let it go.

It's stupid to bring New Vegas on this, as you had Caesar maintaining a whole army of ex-raiders outside New Vegas, just waiting indefinitely to attack. What did all those soldiers eat?

Nevermind the whole issue with having several casinos in the post apocalypsis, some of them even outside the strip.
The casino thing makes perfect sense considering everyone in the Mojave Wasteland is trying to hold on to lost glory in world that just isn't built for that kind of thing anymore. Mr. House is trying to revive his own and that of American Capitalism. The NCR is trying to bring back a Democratic Pre-war Government. Ceasar is all about fufiling the ambitions of the Roman Empire. The Brotherhood the one major organization in the entire game that isn't trying to recapture that stuff and is instead trying to shut it down is also the only one that isn't public facing. It makes perfect sense in a Wasteland filled with people like that there are those trying to make something as dumb as casinos work even crappy ones in Reno.

Have a high enough pickpocket perk and you steal equipped clothing.

Overdue Books can be turned in at specific locations like the Boston Public Library for credits, which can used to buy certain junk items.

Yeah, I actually found an arcade that let you turn in overdue books for fusion cores, stimpacks, fragmentation grenades etc., I was pretty surprised the books weren't just junk.

Its really annoying me that Garveys random quests start automatically unlike the BoS random quests. I just want a clear questlog damn it

Can someone tell me please? How or where Do I claim my version of Fallout 3??

I'm pretty sure I get that since I bought the digital version of Fallout 4 off of my Xbox One correct?

If you get the leader level 2 perk you can build shops. Depending on how many settlers you have you will earn money.
Thanks, what does a scavenging station do? Built one but I don't really see the benefit of it. I really like the settlement building but it should be a bit better explained

So, it looks like even with the Leader Perk 2, mods don't go to other settlements??? Why is that? Really sucks, I have to always go back to sanctuary hill if i want to mod anything...

The issue is that I've already done the mission and the guy has disappeared off the face of the fucking map. You gotta love it when characters disappear because reasons.

I was concerned about this too, initially figuring he'd relocate to the police station eventually. He doesn't, but he shows up again if you advance in the main quest a little (slightly more specifically:
do the BoS quest that becomes available right after Kellogg
)

Have you spawned the
airship
yet? He shows up there and thanks you. If you haven't, progress the main quest a bit.

Unlocking missions left right and centre.

How do I know which is a story mission and side quest on the pip boy??

Generally, important quests have a unique animation in the pip boy. Side quests/generated quests have a pip boy with a thumbs up on them.

I don't get why you and others are so absolutely butthurt by this.

Do you over analyze every detail about every game you play just so you can rip it to shreds and claim how unrealistic it is? If so, I feel bad for you. Gaming must be awful for you if your definition of a good game is 100% believable and realistic.

You can take a pill to completely erase any long term effects of swimming in radiation filled pools of water, giant bugs can sling radiation-laden maggot goo at you, you can just collect nuclear cores and swap them out of metal exoskeletons, etc, etc, etc, etc etc upon the hundreds of unrealistic things you can do in this game.... and people are crying about the timeline about THAT being so unrealistic. lololol.

I could get over it if there was any reason for it to be 200 years later but it literally only serves to make the world less believable.

They could say its 50 years later and it would change almost nothing.

You get over radiation by taking a pill for gameplay reasons. You have giant bugs because its scary and makes the world interesting.

God bless the both of you.

There's gonna be some murdering to do. He'll be all

"Thank you for convin-"

And I'll stab him until he gives me that fucking outfit.

The Institute didn't make as much progress on their technology in 50 years than they did in 200. There's a reason.

The
Silver Shroud
quest line was hilarious as a female character. Can tell the VA had a lot of fun with the dialogue.
