Preordered Twilight Princess HD from Best Buy a few minutes ago. Normally I'd order through Amazon, but it appears they're out of stock, and I don't want to risk another Majoras Collectors edition fiasco. Not that it's likely, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Oddly enough I was given no option for in-store pick up, only free shipping. Which I found pretty strange considering theres a Best Buy about forty minutes from my house.

How has everyone's experience getting stuff from BB been so far? Is it generally quick and hassle free?

Best Buy doesn`t offer store pick up for preorders.
 
I have way better experience with Best Buy than Amazon.
They ship using Canada Post while Amazon uses gross UPS.
They usually ship on time (sometimes even early so I get it on release day) for free while Amazon holds onto my stuff for days after release before even preparing to ship.
I can return in store locally if I change my mind on something. Amazon I have to ship it back.
 
I live in New Brunswick, so I don't expect to get the game too fast, but I'm feeling good about keeping my preorder at Best Buy based on what you guys are saying.

Apparently today is the last day to get Call of Duty: Black Ops III and a CARA gift card free with any Xbox One console at EB, which makes it the last day to get the really decent trade-in deal towards an Elite.

I still haven't decided whether it's worth it for me to do the trade, and was hoping to have more time. The free game was a big part of it.

Any questios? I did that deal last week but it was maybe more worth it for me bc i offloaded a faulty disc drive.

I also sold cod for 60 to sweeten the deal, and also kept the kinect which is also a nice plus,

Now that i think of it never heard back about the giftcard yet

I am actually sort of tempted to do this but the whole thing seems like a lot of hassle.
 
How odd. BestBuy.ca couldn't log me into my account until I changed my email.
Now I can't see any of my past orders, nor my one current order...

Edit: I can look it up via Order # method...

I don't think I have any questions. Thanks, though. My mind is just running mental gymnastics.

I want a new console, but I'd have to pay about $400 on top of the trade, then sell Call of Duty ($70?) and the Elite Controller ($200), which would make it a $100 upgrade.

I'm sure they'll release another Elite Console variation sometime down the road, though, or another console I'll want.

Yeah, it sort of does.

I've had bad luck with consoles. My first couple of Xbox Ones and controllers had to be returned and replaced, because the controllers kept disconnecting. MSFT didn't know what it was, so they recommended that, but it turned out that my Grandmother's oxygen machine (above my bedroom) was somehow causing interference. I moved that and got rid of about 95% of the disconnects.

Then one of the refurbs I got made a weird sound, so it had to go back and they let me go to a Microsoft Store to get a new bundle as a replacement.

That one was great, except sound would occasionally cut out (once or twice a week) during gameplay. I could get it back by pressing the X button to go to dash, so it was the sound card.

I just had that replaced through Microsoft, but they sent me a refurb (when I pleaded for a new console due to OCD and refurb worries) that makes mechanical noises. It makes a weird, cricket-like sound, which can be heard over gameplay and is really annoying. It also buzzes sometimes. I think a fan is loose.

I got a replacement for that last Monday, but it's still in the shipping box and I need to set it up this weekend and send the other one back.

I'd like to get a new console, but maybe I'll just hold off.

I was sent the controller for review purposes, so I have it. The problem is, though, that like the Forza 6 LE controller I bought in September, its joysticks make an audible ticking noise when used. Both sticks do it on the Elite, and only one does it on the Forza one.

I can live with it doing that on my main Forza pad, but not the $200 Elite, so I'm having it replaced. It sucks, but hopefully I won't be without it for long.

I don't have a great income, so I'd rather pay as little out of pocket to do this as opposed to keeping the controller, I think. I probably won't do it, though. There'll be more deals next year, or I could MAYBE sell my Xbox One on Kijiji for $300. The replacement they sent me this time could be -- and hopefully is -- brand new.

Does BB charge right away if I use PayPal? They list 'Fates' ass Dec 2016 so I don't have a CC that works and used PayPal.

In the chance that they screwed up and I can get the CE for $50 I ordered it first lol.

I keep refreshing this thread desperately hoping that the FE Fates SE will be put up on Amazon. Does anyone have any links to a website or app that will send me a notification on my phone or something?

Nothing that's reliable that I know of.

I know they have scripts available to ding when a product page goes live... but we don't even have a product page anywhere yet.
 
I'm ready to build a new gaming PC, but am wondering if online retailers are known to have good deals on parts after Xmas when everyone else is broke and sales slump in Jan/Feb

Anyone know is sites like TigerDirect.ca drop good sales after the Xmas rush?
