I do when it's people trying to blow a non-issue of a "young looking girl" out of proportion by describing her as 15 to 17 years younger than her actual age, even going so far as to implying she's too young to walk properly. It's clearly a bullshit use of the word you're using to exaggerate.

Yea I doubt they would ever remove her completely.

Like I mentioned in other thread, they have been going safe with Marie Rose's outfit in DOA5LR... like her Halloween costume.

With only Asian release, I expect more *extreme* costumes for her. And if they decide to make Western version, remove/change those costumes.

The Western version is the right one, right? That actually looks worse if their aim was to make it look less sexual.
 
I really like the way Marie Rose looks in this. I can't tell if it is in my head or not, but I feel like her eyes are bluer.

Exactly this... there's nothing wrong with certain body types. There's nothing even wrong with children... it's the combination of all these traits, combine with the explicit attempt to titillate that cause Marie to get the reaction she does. DoA5 was one thing... DoAX3 is just miles across the line that most people draw for this kinda thing.

Yup just give her adult women outfits and hair styles and it'll be fine for the west. It's not the body type that makes her odd, it's the children style of the bathing suits and hair styles. I'm Swedish by the way so I can safely say that her current style is very very... strange... for a women of her age and heritage. Teenagers (and even kids) all try to look, behave and style themselves as an adult around here, especially those who don't have the typical body type of an adult. The only ones who try to look and behave younger than their actual age are those in the 40's or 50's with mid-life crises :P

If these characters were being born in a given year, and were growing both physically and mentally over the years to become what they are in the games, then this would be worth bringing up.

They can (and frequently do) assign ridiculous ages to characters, simply to head off the very obvious criticisms that their (deliberate) designs will inevitably face. They're not going to list Marie as 13 or whatever, because that would be utterly fucking stupid considering how they're trying to sell her (especially in a game like DoA5 being released over here). Ayane's Ninja Gaiden age is basically just the result of an already established character appearing in a game that's set earlier on the timeline... it has zero character design significance, just like how Marie Rose being 18 has had none either.

If the creators of U15 gravure shit could invent an age for their models which would allow them to sell them freely over here.. you can be certain they would.

As an anime fan for a few decades now, it's just as creepy, honestly. The Otaku fascination with loli type is just strange, I suppose they are less threatening then other girls or something.

I find it weird that even with all the shit in this game there is no actual nudity.

It doesn't have nudity because CERO (Japanese ratings board) doesn't allow nipples, the western games that feature them are always censored when they get localized for Japan.

Its a boobs thing. For whatever reason flat chest = little girl to some people. Apparently people don't think women with this body type actually exist. I work with a couple of 19yr old women every day at work with the exact body type and build as Marie.

This isn't the devs doing the 1000 year old dragon shtick like go actually look at some 18/19 yr olds a lot of them are built exactly like marie.

That's really bizarre. I thought Japan was more progressive with sexuality in their games, but if that's true, then it kinda isn't.

So, Japanese Witcher, God of War, and GTAV all have blank boobs or said scenes removed all together. They're already rated Z.
