Was anyone able to pre-order the Special Collection Box off Amazon Japan?

I tried following the link but just returns an error.

DOA Xtreme Venus Vacation Prism will have you romantically pursuing one of its 6 girls, with stories involving the entire cast, so producer Yasunori Sakuda says it would feel weird suddenly jamming a seventh, paid girl in there

“The story of PRISM primarily revolves around the interactions among this set group of established characters. If we were to add new or previously popular characters later on, it might disrupt the original story structure and potentially shift the focus to the new characters, which is not in line with our creative intent for this project”, he explains. “Therefore, we currently do not plan to add characters through updates or DLC”.

That being said, he didn’t rule out the option entirely:

“If there is a strong demand from fans for these characters and internal agreement within the company, there may be a chance to see their return in future instalments”, he says.

PlayAsia will be stocking both the premium and collector's editions for PS5. Also, they confirmed that only the Asia multi-language release will come with English support so the Japanese SKU is a no go for me personally...

Okay so there's also this Noisy Pixel news piece where they say that only the Multi-language Asia release comes with English support. I'm in no rush to pre-order so I'll probably grab the standard physical release for PS5 sometime next year.

Koei Tecmo has confirmed that Venus Vacation Prism: Dead or Alive Xtreme will feature an English text option on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions released in Asia. However, players in Western regions will need to import the game to enjoy this feature, as there’s no announced release outside Asia. For PC players, a Steam release exists, but it remains region-locked and may not support English text.

Importing Venus Vacation Prism — Where to Find It

With the English text option limited to Asian PlayStation releases, players in other regions will need to import Venus Vacation Prism: Dead or Alive Xtreme. Online import sites like Play-Asia often offer these types of exclusive titles and may have pre-order options available.

Steam users should be aware that the PC release of Venus Vacation Prism is region-locked and may not support English text, making the PlayStation import route the most viable option for players outside of Asia.

Should You Consider Importing Venus Vacation Prism?

For fans of romance-driven gameplay and the Dead or Alive series, Venus Vacation Prism: Dead or Alive Xtreme might be a compelling option to explore. The game promises visually impressive graphics, character interactions, and a variety of collectible items available in its special editions, adding depth to the Venus Vacation setting. The English text option also provides added accessibility for those importing from outside Asia.

Venus Vacation Prism aims to introduce a fresh layer of romance-focused storytelling to the Dead or Alive universe, set on the vibrant Venus Islands. With a strong emphasis on choice-driven outcomes and immersive visuals, this title appears to offer a unique experience within Koei Tecmo’s lineup, appealing to dedicated fans and newcomers alike.

So I guess the only DOA girl will be Honoka, since the rest are new characters from the gacha game, and now with the news that they won't be adding any new characters via DLC, I'm kinda doing a 180 on this game lol.

Also, I don't know what's up with Team Ninja/Koei Tecmo and this IP, but I feel like this ain't it. Like I don't understand what's with the focus on these new girls when most of the DOA fans don't care all that much about them. Just add more DOA girls (Kasumi, Hitomi, Momiji, Marie Rose, Tina, Ayane, etc.) or simply drop the DOA name and market it entirely to the Venus Vacation gacha fan base.

Will probably still pick it up eventually, but definitely not day one.

Do you really believe Koei Tecmo will not release DLC for this game lol

We are talking about the company who made more than $1000 worth of DLC for one game.

I'm certain they will add all the original DOA girls and $2000 worth of outfits to this game in the next few years :messenger_tears_of_joy:

You might be right so I guess I'll wait and see what happens once the game launches.

It’s not the green hair girl in DOA 6 as DLC?

Tamaki? She first appeared in the Venus Vacation gacha game and was later added as a DLC character to DOA6, so I wouldn't consider her a DOA girl (if that makes sense), since her debut was outside of the DOA fighting games.

Totally out of the loop with this one. But if this is another doa spinoff - like the volleyball - then where's all the classic doa characters?

Looks like a dating sim and if it's similar to DOAX then there will be an insane grind to court the girls and get them to put on various dresses (often bought with real money).

Some new game details via Automaton:

On the switch to the new Katana Engine they're using for Venus Vacation Prism:

In a recent interview with AUTOMATON, the producer of Venus Vacation Prism –Dead or Alive Xtreme–, Yasunori Sakuda revealed that the upcoming romance game will use the Katana Engine to give the game a tropical sexiness that goes beyond what we’ve seen in the Dead or Alive series so far.

The Katana Engine is a proprietary game engine developed by Koei Tecmo. It has been used for various games made by its in-house studios, including Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, numerous Atelier titles, and Dynasty Warriors 9. However, Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation (DOAXVV), Venus Prism’s spiritual predecessor, did not use this engine. Instead, they used the Yawaraka Engine, focusing on expressing the softness of skin in DOAX3 and emotional elements like blushing in DOAXVV.

“For Venus Vacation Prism’s visual concept, we are focusing our attention on a sexiness where you can feel the humidity.” Sakuda explains. “We want players to feel not only the wetness of the girls’ skin at close quarters, but also the temperature of their breath.” In other words, the devs are striving to up the sensory immersion through visual improvements – to make sure that DOA girls like Honoka and Misaki look and “feel” real even in close-up situations.

This switch to the Katana Engine for Venus Vacation Prism is all part of increasing the realism and sense of intimacy in the game between the player and the six DOA girls that they can romance. Unlike DOAXVV with its big cast, events and gacha system, Venus Vacation Prism is a one-time purchase romance game that focuses on allowing the player to get up close and personal with a smaller group of DOA series girls, promising a deeper experience.

The Katana Engine will also allow Venus Prism Vacation to have more varied weather than the sunny Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation. As well as making the girls look more enticing, “The Katana Engine is also overwhelmingly superior in terms of expressiveness when it comes to changes in the environment,” Sakuda states. “To be more specific, we often received requests from players to make it rain in DOAXVV.” He explains that the developers were unable to fulfill these requests as it is not possible to depict rain and its effects on the environments and characters in DOAXVV, as the game was not designed for this. “However, thanks to the power of the Katana Engine, we were able to express this immediately in VVP,” Sakuda adds. It seems we can expect some sultry rainy scenes in Venus Vacation Prism.

On the Photo Mode:

However, that’s not all. Venus Vacation Prism’s camera will be able to go places you couldn’t in DOAXVV. “If you clear one of the girl’s stories, you will unlock a time-stopping watch.” Sakuda reveals “This will allow you to stop time at any point during a conversation with a girl during an episode and take photos of her in that moment from your preferred angle.”

Venus Vacation Prism will also bring the beautiful Venuses closer to the player. In DOAXXV, the girls are usually in front of you, but in Venus Vacation Prism, they will sit beside you and move around more. “In this game, you will be able to feel physically closer to the girls and enjoy a closer relationship,” Sakuda reveals.

I’m always glad to see a dev use an in house proprietary engine instead of just unreal engine again. Katana sounds awesome.

How could you buy this on Steam if you live in the states? Do you do the same thing like Venus vacation?

What I did:

1. Use a free VPN like Tunnelbear, set region to Japan.
2. Create an account(Japan) on Steam
3. Buy Steam Gift Card(Japan currency) at PlayAsia
4. Redeem the Gift Card to the new Steam Account(Japan) wallet
5. Buy the Steam game or DLC using the wallet funds

Pretty simple and it works.

Do you get the English version when using this method? Or do all PC versions have the English translation?

Seems like all the Steam versions of this game are the same, all have English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese subtitles. I just checked Japan and Singapore Steam store.

Most people using this method creating a new Steam account with VPN either have the location set to Japan or other Asia countries like Singapore or Taiwan from what I heard. As long as Steam hasn't blocked you from creating a new account in those regions you should be fine.

Supposedly you can family share the game with your main account if you do it this way to be able to play it without any further VPN fuckery and to get achievements/etc in your main account. I'm gonna wait until the game is out and nobody's getting banned before I move a muscle. Ain't no way I'm losing my main account over this game because it STILL doesn't have Momiji.
