we got the entire structure of the film. 3 minute trailers...scust.
Yeah this was the bones of the film trailer. Kinda lame but there will be a ton of surprises still. It's a long movie.

Still hoping for the best. Might be entertaining but the editing and tone of this trailer hurt.

That was awesome, but Lex Luthor is annoying as fuck haha.

REALLY glad they included the "if I wanted to, you'd be dead already" line from Superman, at least closes that part of the carnival of stupid.

blah blah blah prep time Batman blah blah blah

I'm curious to hear what people think is being ruined by just knowing what the Ultimate Threat is going to be.

Like, that doesn't in any way alter the pretty obvious trajectory of the plot, and the movie has bigger problems if the reveal of the Ultimate Threat being Doomsday was gonna make or break the whole thing.

Like that's a bad thing?

Okay, but I still have Cannibalism to fall back on.

This is the worst.

It's fascinating to see the weird persecution complex that has sprung up around this film. Like any criticism is invalid because they set their minds to hating it because it's DC.
The DC fan persecution complex on gaf has been prevalent for awhile now. Albeit, some of it was warranted after so many people went HAM over their dislike of Man of Steel

It was a good movie at least. Gets too much undeserved hate.
For real. I was just was watching Collider and they were talking about how people are quick to jump on something decent being absolute trash nowadays when back in the day the majority of these comic book films were truly awful. We in the golden age now. I enjoyed the hell out of the new Supe and I hope this one is as good as it should be.

Disney is going to let a WB DC trailer screen in front of their biggest movie of the year?

Don't they have some sway in what trailers are attached?

Why would they give a shit? 99.9% of people who see BvS are going to see Civil War, and vice versa. Even the dumbasses who like to feed the Marvel VS DC train of stupidity will be seeing both movies.

I highly doubt the studios behind all these movies that are raking in the dough give a fuck the way fanboys do. If the superhero genre is doing well, its great news for all of them.

I don't know. Lex is exactly who I thought he'd be. Goofy hip billionaire in public but evil and crazy behind the scenes.

"If man won't kill God... The Devil will do it!"

oh wow that line

Line would have been 10000% better if reversed

"If the Devil won't kill God... then man will do it."

Of course he is speaking about how Zod is the Devil on Krypton but either way both work but in reverse it's 100% better. Then again he is probably talking about how the governmental inquiries were in favor of Superman despite Luthor's schemes.

I was with it up until 2:15 in the trailer when the Doomsday plot showed up. Hopefully the movie doesn't become as bloated as it looks. Granted this is a 3 minute trailer of whats probably a 2 and a half hour + film. Snyder and I have never really meshed, I do believe he has talent but there is something missing for me when it comes to his films. He could use some better scripts, but there is still something I can't pin my finger on.

With that being said, I'm still hopeful that the flick turns out ok and I'm excited to see how it pans out.

For the people unhyped because of Doomsday, how did you expect this film to play out?

Mech suit Lex at most.

Using Doomsday this prematurely means a potentially interesting Superman film we'll never get to see. And I'm not even implying remaking Death of Superman.

"If man won't kill God... The Devil will do it!"

oh wow that line

Kind of goes hand in hand with him referring to man (Batman) won't kill Superman (the god) , the devil will (as "devils come from the sky" and he uses another Kryptonian)

It's actually in line with his character who's smart with his words and is a nice play on words.

That was awesome, but Lex Luthor is annoying as fuck haha.

Snyder said during SDCC that Batman's suit isn't one to match up with Superman but a suit of preservation. Which is exactly the point of it. Really made me go, wow, he really has a grasp of what that suit means.

Before I answer this question, I need you to provide your comics bonafides and verifiable proof of your familiarity with superheroes specifically.

I expected some modified ending to Dark Knight Returns considering how heavily the movie seems to be drawing from it.

Not that I'm unhyped for Doomsday, I just think he looks bad and didn't need to be in the trailer.

Loved the trailer!

Seriously, we need the image with the NEET guy from One Punch Man quoting some of the complains in this thread haha

Preferably, with Lex as the main villain. No need for Doomsday at all.

That would require writing Lex to be a threatening villain. Making the characters face moral dilemmas that they can't solve with brute force.

But it's easier to write a fight scene with a created evil that can 'stand up' to superman, WW, and batman.

it is no longer interesting to have two CGI brutes wail on each other for 30 minutes. the best thing about doomsday's inclusion in this is that it potentially removes him from future movies.
