The over the top goofball Lex persona during the Bruce Wayne/Clark Kent scene is obviously a fake public persona, so I wouldn't use that scene to judge what Eisenberg's Lex is going to be like. His other scenes show that he's more of an arrogant prick.

Lord help you guys if they show Zemo in the next Civil War trailer. "But I thought they would fight the whole movie!"

Yeah, precisely. I was hoping for that.

That Trinity shot made me laugh though.

Wonder Woman is looking really serious and Superman doesn't know what to do with his hands while Batman is lookin' scared with his rifle. All while blaring trailer music in the background as the shot lingers for a few seconds.

Whatever this movie becomes, at least I'll have Man of Steel.

My condolences.

Did they spoil the whole movie with the trailer or its just me?
People keep saying this, but i'm betting it's the opposite. Obviously the team-up was going to happen with something, so the only surprise to come out of this trailer was Doomsday being the catalyst.

Most of the new footage outside of the party are very small bits of scenes they've already shown other small bits from. They're holding back.

Like others, i'm not feeling this trailer either. But mostly because of the silly tone. I don't expect it to be representative of the film.

Would have been perfect if it ended with Superman's "She with you?" question. Of course Snyder can't control his inner hack and had to put Batman's dumb retort "i thought she was with u???", as if the audience is braindead cluster of zombies.

-Shitty editing with bad music placement
-Eisenberg just looks like a total miscast
-Doomsday design is awful
-Why the fuck are they spoiling Doomsday in the trailer?
-Cavill looks stiff as fuck in this trailer and gives off the appearance of a horrible Clark Kent
-Wonder Woman looks thrown into the movie haphazardly
-Did I mention how bad Doomsday looks?
-Trailer laid out the entire film

Trailer sucked any sort of hype I had for the film, right the fuck out.

I agree with every point here. Shame

I'm thinking
DOOMSDAY
may just be a minor part. I feel like he's a solid Justice League villain.

He's a mindless killing machine who doesn't talk or move a plot forward. There's no depth behind him other than he wants to kill Superman. Other than his pure strength, he's about the dumbest choice they could have for Justice League. You want a character with depth and reasoning... not a walking tank.

If it ends up worse than Man of Steel I will cry.

We have had what two years now and people still don't understand that Eisenberg was cast specifically to play a Zuckerberg type Luthor
Oh, people understand it. They just think it's a bad idea because it isn't a more endearing character idea then what Lex was in the first place.

Still not sold on Lex. Will have to see.

Some of the dialogue was a little too cheesy for my liking.

Overall I liked the trailer. I can probably map out the entire plot of the movie pretty accurately but most of us could have months ago. It's about the journey for this one

SDCC trailer was definitely the stronger of the two though

Everyone's complaining about the lack of Spider-Man and the second a trailer drops with him in it everyone will get upset because they had the surprise ruined

The trailer gives away too many key scenes is the problem. Of course there's gonna be a big bad villain. But you can't setup a trailer to be between Supes and Bats and then reveal Doomsday 30 seconds later as the team forms while calling the movie Batman vs Superman and expect it to work in the minds of many here.

The trailer is utterly confused about what it wants to be.

This is all making assumptions about what the key scenes are, or how the "VS" in Batman vs Superman is portrayed, from a movie nobody has seen.

I feel like WW shield could be a tad bigger tbh. I love Eisenberg as Luthor tho hes really knocking it out of the park.

I still like Lex on 10th watch. Maybe it's cause I was never that close to the character, but I could see him having the basics in there. The hate for Superman can still be done right with this new interpretation.

Like, I dunno, Lex fucking Luthor?

I'm confused is this even following frank millers dark knight which pits him against superman.. Why throw in wonder woman and then drop doomsday - Which is part of the death of superman. I'm confused about all this.

Fun trailer... Not sure I follow Zacks direction.

It takes some inspiration from TDKR mainly some visual nods but this is an original story not an adaptation of TDKR.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
The Batman V Superman bingo card now has spaces for:

"Not funny enough"

&

"Too funny"

So you want this movie to be immune from all criticism.

I enjoyed the last trailer and had no problems with the tone. This...looked rough.

Here's what will happen. No matter what, a few days or a week before this comes out, some people will post early impressions on Twitter...they'll all be positive. The OT will go up here and in a rush to validate this movie, they'll be a title like 98% Fresh based off those early impressions. Then the score will go down. We'll either have a decent blockbuster film or a complete train wreck. We've done this song and dance so many times before.I had my fingers crossed for the first, but if I had only seen this trailer, I'd bet on the second.

People have different opinions. This could just be a badly cut trailer. That happens. We've gotten fantastic trailers for shitty films, trailer making is an art in itself these days. So the trailer automatically isn't some barometer of the overall quality of a film. But sometimes you can see hints of issues. I disliked the trailer. I'm not completely put off on seeing the movie, but I'm a bit more apprehensive now.

Who said it was following Dark Knight Returns?

It's a trailer for a movie. What is it confused about? It has some humorous moments, action and dialogue. I personally thought it all flowed well.

Doomsday is NOT some big spoiler. Please don't believe that. When Zod was shown in the first trailer is was the logical conclusion many made if you know anything DC.

Eh I appreciate the liberties they have taken considering about 60% of Marvel movie villains have been discount Lex Luthors so far

That annoying DUM DUM DUM jump cut sync to the music is really annoying. Still, seeing Wonder Women's shield saving Batman was great.

I just hope Jesse dials down the pitch of his voice once he loses his fucking hair because that high pitched squeal is a bit much.

Was excited for this movie before this trailer.

-Doomsday has that blatant "Super CGI" look
-Costuming for the leads with the dark dress shirts is terrible

No, mainly because I feel like I know the whole plot already. Batman sees disaster, hates superman, meet, whip out their dicks and measuring tapes, batman dream sequence, they fight, luthor laughs evily while delivering expository dialogue, batman and superman realize they shouldn't fight/luthor does something dumb to break it up, luthor extracts secret ooze from zod and makes doomsday, they need to team up to fight him, apparently losing, batman about to die, wonder woman steps in saves batman, fight, win, justice league? yay!

Pretty much :(

If only they took a page out of Star Wars: The Force Awakening trailer. Leave the audience wanting more.

I really wish they didn't reveal Doomsday for the trailer and saved him for the movie. His reveal would have been pretty amazing during it.

I have no reason to believe you have ANY understanding of superheroes or their arcs based off of your last post.

I didn't know I was supposed to be auditioning for your approval. Anyway, yes: I understand superheroes, and superhero storytelling conventions pretty well. I might not have a byline at Comics Alliance or have worked for Gary Groth at any point, but I've got a decent enough working understanding that discovering Superman and Batman team up to fight a modified/altered version of Zod isn't much of a discovery at all - especially after watching THE FIRST TRAILER which points DIRECTLY TO THAT.

I'm just willing to take a ban bet over Doomsday being the entire third act/ending of the movie and using him as a vehicle to bring bats and supes together...Which that would in turn essentially give the plot away if I was correct, no?

No. That is incorrect. Discovering Doomsday is the big bad Lex is unleashing doesn't "give away the plot" at all.

This trailer, weirdly edited and tonally scattered as it is, doesn't let the audience know anything it couldn't have/wouldn't have guessed on its own via basic paying of attention. Which is fine, because nobody's really going to Batman v. Superman to get their wigs blown by twisty-turny Usual Suspects-level storytelling.

It'd be nice if they did. And if they were, this trailer didn't spoil any of that. These are big, fat, loud, obvious points for a movie called Batman v Superman to hit. I'm willing to believe there's more to this 2 1/2 hour movie that Chris Terrio wrote than just what we saw in the trailer.

People have no fucking clue about Lex Luthor outside of Clancy Brown.

The biggest problem DC is going to have going forward is that people actually know who their characters are and have had exposure. Marvel throws anything on the screen and everyone loves characters they have no clue about because they like RDJ as Iron Man.

the best scene was the bruce/clark meeting. that clown line was great.

kinda wish they just stuck with the serious tone of the other trailers, this was a bit corny. maybe it's not indicative of the final product though and they're just trying to get more butts in the seats.
Yeah I think they are just trying to win over a younger crowd with this trailer.

I want this movie badly, but I enjoyed the last 2 trailers a lot more. Can't wait for the midnight showing.

Ohhhh man, I can't believe we get to see batman and superman on film together. Just had a huge grin on my face watching that trailer again, what will make this film will be Affleck and Cavill playing off each other
