That's just what superhero movies do.

Did someone add Spidey to that? I don't remember that in the trailer.

Also, the complaint you're addressing is the minuscule shit I'm talking about.

Doomsday wrecked Superman in the comics, he is the perfect excuse for a teamup. The character itself is just a crappy excuse of a threat for Superman, Doomsday is not interesting and is only famous for that cover of Death of Superman cover.

Doesn't deserve an entire movie, even the Justice League cartoon made fun of him in that scene where he says "I only exists to destroy Superman" or something similar.

I just like the idea of killing superman and having someone be able to, even if the story was horseshit

I guess I like Doomsday in theory and not in practice

Why even watch trailers at this point then? Most of them give away a large chunk of the movie. Do you know how many trailers just have the endings right in them? Hell, the music video for "It's been a Long Time" for the Fast 6 soundtrack literally shows the movie's end.

Civil War didn't do that. I have no idea why they're fighting.
The Force Awakens didn't do that, I have no idea what's going on there.
Suicide Squad didn't do that, what on earth would motivate the higher ups to assemble a team of bad guys for?

Good trailers don't show an entire movie in 3 minutes.

trailer looked damn good. I'm liking what I saw of Eisenberg and Affleck. hoping to see more Cavill as Kent. I expected Doomsday but I'm not liking the design that much. could have been better. 2016 can't get here soon enough.

That's not the point, we haven't seen them chummy until now.

Seeing them getting along effectively evaporates all the tension the past trailers built up about their clash, sure we all knew they'd reconcile, but it should've been saved for the movie.

I agree. They should have saved Doomsday too even though he was already known to appear in the movie. He doesn't even look that menacing and he's the mother fucker who effectively KILLED Superman.

With batman using wit (and green arrow) to defeat superman and make the point that he's not above humanity, and that the best of humanity can stand toe to toe with him when needed be, and for him to remember it.

Basically for Batman to put Superman in his place, like the whole first half of this trailer seemed like it was building to.

This ignores the fact that he "defeated" Superman only because Superman was reluctant to fight him. Anyone that view Superman as considering himself above humanity has a misunderstanding of the character.

Is this Snyder's ugliest movie yet? At least in this department I really was expecting better from this thing.

I have no doubt he'll pull off a good Bruce Wayne, but personally I'm just like "ah man can't he be a bit more of the outgoing playboy Bruce Wayne?"

But then again, since we already get a hint that Robin might have died a la Death of the Family, it makes sense that Bruce at this point in his life would be super depressed and angry all the time.
It's gonna be a fucked up Bruce for sure. Looks like he hand's Clark his ass before Lex comes in for the save.

I just...want to see Batman punch dudes. I need to see his fighting style.

None of that fucking keysi bs awkward elbows and haymakers from the Nolan movies.

there was no tension since the movie was titled Dawn of Justice, we all knew the teamup was happening at the end so why act like it was spoiled now?

pretty bad trailer i thought, editing was kind of a mess.

but theyre def hiding something some sort of twist with lex though.

Well I've got to hand it to you GAF, this is the first time I've seen praise for a unanimously agreed predictable plot and a villain everyone knows ain't shit.

lmao that'd be the mother of all copouts. i commend them for addressing the threat of superman though. bruce wayne sounds pretty damn pissed about it especially.

That kinda irked me. The Nolan movies rightfully played up the Wayne persona. Here it's just "Batman is the best don't you know hur hur muh family is dead cuz Joker." It's so fucking basic. I assume this will be brainless fun at best.

The trailer was weirdly paced from typical trailers but it actually made me like it...more? I loved that trailer. It was like seeing the Superman/Batman Animated series crossover in live action shot for shot.

I liked it, screw the snobs.

All I know of the Marvel Universe is what I have from the movies and the Netflix shows, as will most of the movie going audience for it.

Similarly, I more or less know nothing of the DC Universe but the trailer looked good, and I enjoyed Man of Steel. So I'll watch the movie with an open mind, hoping it will be good, then I'll decide.

Told ya, shouldn't have read it.

I mean, it's more or less what I expected. Minus
Aquaman having more than just a brief cameo
. Everything else in there is blah.

Really only looking forward to finding out stuff about this new Batman.

Trailer was cut so bad. It's so fucking odd.

So, Batman defeats Superman, Superman learns a lesson, and the movie ends? Sounds anti-climatic. Also it made sense in that comic because Superman was doing some morally questionable things, I guess killing Zod could be the catalyst for that but Bruce seems angry at the fact that Superman caused a lot of wanton destruction as opposed to showing him he's not above people. Finally, that comic really gets misconstrued as Batman using his wits to defeat Superman when Superman wasn't invested in the fight. I've always found the way people interpret how that fight went and what it represented odd but, hey, I'm a Superman fan which carries certain...I dunno, negative connotations for people when it comes to discussing anything that doesn't show Superman on top.

Won't someone think of the parademons?!

If those are indeed parademons that puts a whole new importance on this dream sequence. Hell it's likely not even that then but a vision of what could happen. That likely means it's not even Batman's but perhaps Wonder Woman's. In that case we're looking at a possible future where Darkseid has influence over Superman which has happen in the comics and cartoons before. Where Darkseid either tries to take control of Superman or wipes his memory to make him think he's Darkseid's son.

Also Doomsday is not a big surprise. The Zod being turned into Doomsday was something many thought as soon as Zod's body was shown. Doomsday also isn't a deep character. He's a killing machine, a weapon. That's what's he's being used as here.

This ignores the fact that he "defeated" Superman only because Superman was reluctant to fight him.

Not in the dark knight returns. Superman couldn't rip batman to shreds because he was weakened from the nuclear blast.

Anyone that view Superman as considering himself above humanity has a misunderstanding of the character.

He was literally a pawn being used for that very means in The Dark Knight Returns and didn't realize it. Hence batman's line, "Who do they send after you?" He was the Regan Administration's trump card, because they thought all humanity was below him.

So, Batman defeats Superman, Superman learns a lesson, and the movie ends? Sounds anti-climatic

One of the most beloved comics of all time - the very one this movie is taking heavy inspiration from - used that as it's climax. Maybe you should familiarize yourself with it. It's not like they wouldn't have an entire movie's worth of dramatic build up to paint that as the climax.

Based off this trailer the leaks from earlier this year appear to be true.

Don't read this if you don't want the entire film spoiled.

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/com..._spoilers_a_detailed_plot_of_batman_v/cssiz2n

Batman attracts Superman to the abandoned neighborhood being rebuilt by Wayne Enterprises and fights him with an armored suit, Kryptonite-based weapons and several buildings and vehicles that have been booby-trapped with Batman's arsenal of anti-Superman weapons. The fight is vicious and ends with Superman victorious. Batman urges Superman to kill him, but Superman refuses. Batman then reveals that the fight was designed to test Superman.
This is too stupid to be real.

That final shot was hype.

Eisenberg wasn't bad at all.

Batman using a voice synthesizer makes sense, but it sounds odd paired with his regular Bat suit.

Trailer was a bit messy, but I'm still hopeful that it turns out great.

This looks so bad and corny.

Dream sequences? Doomsday? Wonder woman? It's all stupid comic book cheese.

BRING NOLAN BACK!!!
