Batman v Superman - New Official Trailer

Uh wow. I believe the trailer just gave away the entire plot of the movie. Why would you do this, trailer maker.

Because this
Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Is the official synopsis.

It was published in June.

They probably figured it was okay to proceed from there.

I swear, if spoiler culture has its nefarious way, by 2025 all movie trailers will just be a title card with the soundtrack playing in the background.

Eh I always read it as Superman losing because he didn't want to win.

The entire fight reinforces constantly that Superman isn't up to snuff and isn't his normal capabilities. Hence "I wanted to see how much the nuclear blast took out of him. He'd dodge those missiles if he was fully powered, but he isn't, so I watch them knock him around for a few minutes" and "your nose is bleeding already, clark?" and "Clark had to break a sweat to break my ribs and crush my wrist."

Also, the climax, frames before they hit him with the kryptonite arrow, batman splashes him with acid in his face and says "There! I did it! I finally got him fully mad!"

They make it very clear that he's trying and not normal superman.

Superman hears batman's heart after he'd been hit with the kryptonite arrow, once batman had already told him "I could have just killed you now if I wanted to, but I didn't. I wanted to make a point."

What does Batman have a gun.

It's the launcher for his concussive sticky grenades. He's used similar weapons in plenty of comics, and a couple gadgets from the Arkham games.

I've seen people complaining about soundtrack spoilers before too, so even that won't fly for some.

Based off this trailer the leaks from earlier this year appear to be true.

Don't read this if you don't want the entire film spoiled.

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/com..._spoilers_a_detailed_plot_of_batman_v/cssiz2n

if this is real then where's the
dream sequence
?

but if it is true
then the part where superman goes into the sun and then superman comes back sounds like the place where they can have a darkseid supes come back after darkseid captures the real supes a la earth 2, which i'm holding to as what the vision shows

I don't know...after the Civil War trailer. It is pretty hard on WB/DC side to make a identity of there movies. Though i liked men of steel the shift of not making a new superman film instead still bums me out. At least i see Marvel making huge plans far ahead for their future movies.

Hilarious. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

It's not at all that though. If they build through the film and make Clark into a character that shows a lighter side with a sense of humor, then the line fits and makes sense. Judging by what we know from MoS, Clark is not at all that kind of character. Not even close.

I don't want quips for the sake of quips. I want dialogue that feels like it fits the tone and makeup of the character delivering the line.

suicide squad has a pretty unique identity going by that comic con trailer.

maybe they'll cut a goofy ass trailer and muck it all up but as of now that looks like some punk rock comic book movie.

What is this supposed to mean? lol

It's just what I got from the trailer. I love the Marvel
movies but they are so fucking serious. It was as if Lex was a reminder that this is just crazy and unreal. Everything is so dark these days. I doubt Snyder can pull it off, but it's definitely his response to the seriousness of MoS.

I took it as a reminder that this is all a fantasy and we should have fun.

I'm kinda drunk too. Which could explain everything.

it really doesnt
It does.

This is a trailer for the "fun" crowd. The casual audience that fluffs Marvel's box office. A lot of people who aren't turned on by the darker tones are feeling this.

The 3 trailers show mostly the same scenes, this one just reaches for a different appeal.

Bad news, it's apparently quite funny.
That feels more natural given the characters there IMO.

Again, nothing wrong with humor that's inserted well. But the few lines here weren't that great. Though eisenberg might actually be entertaining. We'll see.

I just loved the tone of the first trailer and still believe/hope we'll get a more serious movie. Also hope the Reddit rumors aren't as bad as some of you say.

I wasn't looking forward to this because I don't like Zack Snyder movies in general, but I didn't think it was going to be this big of a joke.

I mean, that was straight up terrible. Bring back Joel Shumacher.

How many people are going to superhero movies for their finely, densely, intricately layered plots.

Anybody?

Raise your hand if your major in to superhero films, or superheroes in general, is the strength of their PLOTTING.

Get 'em up there, guys. Lemme see ya.

Of course they fuckin' do. You don't even have to like comic books to know that's going to happen.
I always enjoy reading your posts.

they're...hmm. they're not stand out bad (like holy shit what were they fucking thinking bad) but the description there sounds quite middling and possibly below average in that it kind of meanders and does a few other things that seem unnecessary.

You know just once, just for once, I would like to see Batman not use a gun in a film.

(waits for the deluge of comic panels where he uses a gun)

I do also not feel anything about suicide squad.

99% of the excitement for Suicide Squad is cause Joker to me
.

I love comics, but even I don't give a shit for anyone in that movie besides Joker and maybe a bit of Harley, but even she's literally a byproduct of Joker.

Don't give me that shit, there's teasing about general story, and giving away major plot points in its sequential orders.

Cant Superman just throw Doomsday into the sun or deep space?

No.

First off, DCCU Superman isn't that strong.

Second, it's rather difficult to get a good throwing grip on something that's moving around, let alone something that's hitting you like a freight train.

Don't give me that shit, there's teasing about general story, and giving away major plot points in its sequential orders.

Major plot points like:

-Batman doesn't like Superman and vice versa

-They fight

-At some point they stop fighting

-And then team up with Wonder Woman to fight a bigger baddie.

Literally the only one of those not in the synopsis is the team up with Wondy.

you have an arkham knight avatar, he uses guns in that

but srs a lot of batman's gadgets do have the shape of a gun. the modern comics don't rely on said gadgets that much, but every other piece of media seems to.

it's funny how people eat shit up like Civil War shit and fights happening on garages and parking slots which make it look super cheap and almost tv series-esque and then say it's amazing, but then shit all over this for having some humor.

I mean, I knew GAF was overwhelmingly full of Marvel fans, but the amount of free pass Marvel stuff gets here, while everything DC gets shits on it's just weird. There's no way to have a decent discussion in these threads without some drive-by shit posts.
