Batman v Superman - New Official Trailer

The composition and lighting look really bad in this shot IMO. It ruins an other-wise awesome moment.

Also who is the actor who says the line, "You must be new, that's Bruce Wayne." That was some awful fucking delivery if you ask me. That soured me on the trailer right from the start.

It's likely an ADR bit specifically for the trailer cut.

i dunno, imo if you thought avengers looked great and this looks bad (and vice versa) there might be some weird company bias going on here.

that's what this trailer reminded me the most of. down to that scene with the giant alien worm and doomsday's intro, to scarlett's awful "that's not a party" line and the batman/superman "I thought she was with you"

and also a final shot of the entire gang. they want that marvel money with this one. god damn I hope this trailer is almost entirely misleading.

Huh, you know, when it put it like that....they are basically the same trailer.

I enjoyed both, btw.

When Snyder can't even produce a cool trailer out of his movie, you know something has gone horribly wrong.

This look, honestly, a terrible movie, and the deflation of what Nolan achieved with Batman.

I'll give it the benefit of doubt, but I think I will hate this even more than MoS.... :-(

I think Snyder can't control himself long enough to cut a good trailer. He's like a kid in the candy store. He's such a fan of all of this stuff that it seems like he wants to include everything.

Marvel had 5 movies.
DC will have had 4.
What rush are you talking about?
Thor and Hulk barely did anything to set up Avengers and were both forgettable movies

I don't care about Marvel in comparison to them. I just want a solo flick again without everyone being in each other for a little longer.

Also, Thor set up Loki, come on now.

Any superhero movie can be simplified into simple plot points like that if you wanted to. It's about if they do the plot points justice, which we can't possibly tell from a short trailer.

I don't really have any questions about what happens in between in the movie other than: is the rumor about aquaman trapped in lexcorp rumor legit and by what method does luthor lose his hair. That's it.

We already know that the desert Batman sequence is a nightmare and they're being cute with each other when they're not in costume. It REALLY seems like they held absolutely nothing major back for the actual viewing experience.

I have so many more questions about Civil War and Star Wars after seeing all of the trailers and reading all of the articles articles. I mean, what was WB thinking dumping all of their major plot points this early?

Also holy shit, every fucking wide shot background looks fake as fuck.

Not unhyped because of Doomsday, unhyped because they spoiled a major surprise. Did the majority of us know the doomsday was gonna appear? Yes, but it's always better to leave the element of surprise.

Going into a movie even with the slightest difference of expectation is always better than going into a movie where you know exactly what's gonna happen and you're just waiting for the joker to make his cameo.

Why even watch trailers at this point then? Most of them give away a large chunk of the movie. Do you know how many trailers just have the endings right in them? Hell, the music video for "It's been a Long Time" for the Fast 6 soundtrack literally shows the movie's end.

that has nothing to do with Marvel

the 3 main protagonist of the movie... every movie has a shot like that

Still not even close to sold on Affleck as Bruce Wayne. Just doesn't click. Don't know why we just got most, if not all, of the plot now too.

But at least Supes' acknowledges that Bats would be dead many times over if he was serious.

Gonna be cautiously pessimistic at this point.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. Some people thought the trailer looked bad some didn't.

I never thought Dawn of Justice meant the justice league?!? SPOILERS!!!

I just thought it was big advertising for Dawn dish washing soap!

To be fair, Man of Steel set up so very much of the plot of this movie.

This reminds me of a videogame, all are standing around making cool poses as nobody really moves.

See, that is already 10x more fun and interesting than what I expect from Doomsday. Unless they're just gonna use the name and the look and not really have him be Doomsday.
What if this doomsday is just messy rough v1 clone and zod 2.0 pops out to handle shit proper?

I do think there is something more going on with his role than just a golem given how Michael Shannon is so hush hush about the movie. If he was a corpse for 5 minutes on screen what would he know?

Cool trailer, but the editing felt off. The random jokes, the entirety of the random Luthor dialogue in the middle, and the return to Man of Steel levels of destruction dragged it down for me. Still though, looked pretty cool.

Doomsday makes me feel like there won't be a lot of Batman V Superman in the actual movie unless the movie is 5 hours long.
Naw doomsday is the final conflict with the team. Probably the 30 minute climax. Again, this movie is all about the conflict between the two heroes. Ideologically as much as physically. First trailer made that much more clear where this was some Avengers type stuff.

That's exactly what I was thinking, word for word.

Yeah, it seems kinda rushed. Like when the blast pushes back Superman and Wonder Woman and then it cuts to Batman and Superman with the "I thought she was with you..."

that has nothing to do with Marvel

the 3 main protagonist of the movie... every movie has a shot like that

please, the trinity shot was something a lot of fans have been waiting for much like that avengers circle. it's being marketed much like the avengers was with this one.

i'm not saying "copycat" or anything dumb like that, just pointing out the similarities in the way both trailers were.

Is Lex Luthor being bald really a spoiler?

I think it is to the extent that the promo footage has shown him a unique Lex, with hair.

I don't think it's a huge, unexpected thing that he's really bald or he loses his hair at some point - just something that's likely to happen at the end of the movie and therefore strange to throw out in an early promo still.

Also, Thor set up Loki, come on now.

It's literally the first movie that DC has done where they are tying everything in... come on haha, at least let them have 10 or so movies. We've had 5 Superman movies already, it's time to get these two on the big screen at one time.

I'm holding out hope. Geoff Johns is an executive producer for the movie and he's been a huge influence on The Flash giving us so many damn surprises. That man loves to drop huge stuff out of nowhere as much as he does his cereal.

I think DC really doesn't need to set up all the solo films as much as Marvel did because people actually know who Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman are. Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America weren't exactly big names -
not even Marvel Comics' biggest sellers
- when their movies came out.

why does Lex reminds me of Heath's Joker portrayal

He is NOTHING like Ledger's joker.

People shat on Ledger until the trailers and then we were all sold on him.

You know who this Lex does remind me freakishly closely of?

It's crazy how close all of Lex's mannerisms are to JD's.

To be fair, Man of Steel set up so very much of the plot of this movie.

Yeah, and it would've been cool to see it without more Batman or Wonder Woman stepping in.

I really would've liked to see Superman deal with this on his own. But it's already here, so what can I do?

Their next movie better be called "World's Finest" at least.

which basically means the movie's gonna be shit for Doomsday, who some would argue deserves a better treatment than a random last 30 minute baddie

there's no winning this

tho to be fair shit was already wack by getting zod involved and whatever the hell they're doing

Those parademons are totally a set up for Justice League. That's what they'll be fighting before they deal with, well you know who.

Liked the last trailer better. last third of this one seems very disjointed in comparison to the rest. Like they were trying to show more of the JLA/Superhero action/quips. Which would be fine if it was a little more consistent in the trailer. Also don't like the Doomsday design. Not sure how I feel about Lex yet. He will obviously be very different by the end of the movie.

Other than that; Affleck still looks right, Bruce/Clark jabs worked well, WW looks great, Irons is gonna be an awesome Alfred.

Is there a possibility that Zod get turned into Bizarro?

well shit, now I'm wishing it was bizarro. Instead of Doomsday sliding out, we see a somewhat hulking superman like figure stepping out, twisted disfigured Shannon face, still wearing Zod's torn up armor (complete with shield on the chest), eyes glowing.

Doomsday deserves nothing.

hopefully it's like almost all batman v superman (with a lot of bruce wayne and clark thrown in) and doomsday just gets his ass whooped within 10 minutes.

nobody got time for hulk vs abomination part 2.

Lex seems more like a joke character than Superman's constant thorn but I'm gonna give the movie the benefit of the doubt.

edit: I don't know anything about the movie plot but if they somehow keep Doomsday and one day do Death and Return of Superman I want Brandon Routh, Tom Welling, and Shaq to all be a part of that.

Luthor's dialogue is so bad, I felt like he was gonna wink at the camera. "Oh hey, it's Bruce Wayne meeting Clark Kent!" *wink* "Wow, what a strong grip Clark!" *wink* "Wouldn't wanna get in a fight with yooooooou, am I right???!!!!" *wink*

This is a horrible trailer. The tone goes from enemies to friends then reveals a major plot point. I am not one to complain about trailers but this is really bad.

To people saying they gave away too much....the title of the movie already gave away the whole plot.

Batman v Superman

They fight
Dawn of Justice
Come together against greater threat

That's not the point. I doubt anyone here expected them to not team up by the end. Same reason why no expects any of them to die because they laid out their plans already so we already have an idea of where it's going. The point is that as a movie showing how one of the main conflicts is resolved is off putting. The Civil War trailer is a good example. Imagine they showed a clip of the scene after the Cap/Bucky vs Iron Man, and it's them teaming up to go against a mediocre villain. The suspense is lost. This is what happened here. Sure we know they'll team up just like we always know the hero is going to survive at the end of many movies.

Now if the movie was about Superman teaming up with Batman then this would be fine but it's not. The movie is about them fighting each other as the name implies. The trailers shouldn't be showing how that is resolved and it shouldn't be glossed over just because "it's obvious." Scenes of them teaming up should be saved for the JL movie.

Nah that's all a 'doomsday' deserves. Besides, why can't this be a 'bizzaro'? A goofy zombie-esque superman would look stupid as fuck.

God it was awful.

I thought they ditched Goyer.

There will probably be very little doomsday, it'll be supes and wondy stalling while bats hunts down Lex and a killswitch for doomsday for 25 minutes

In my opinion that is who he is. He is a physical threat and not much more. Works to give the trinity a physical foe to team up against.
