reddit rumor spoilers:

hahahahahahahahahahahaha

but srs

hahahhahahahahaha

the irony

I'm thinking that the Reddit post is BS. IIRC, Faraci's piece came out not long before that thing cropped up, and it reads an awful lot like somebody taking confirmed plot points and filling in the gaps.

99% of the excitement for Suicide Squad is cause Joker to me
.

I love comics, but even I don't give a shit for anyone in that movie besides Joker and maybe a bit of Harley, but even she's literally a byproduct of Joker.

Joker also feels off to me i don't know really after the excellent role of Heath Ledger and even Jack Nicholson in Batman it is pretty hard to top that really. Hell even the Joker from Mark Hamill isn't easy to do the same from the cartoons and the games. Troy Baker at least succeeded in Arkham origins.

It does.

This is a trailer for the "fun" crowd. The casual audience that fluffs Marvel's box office. A lot of people who aren't turned on by the darker tones are feeling this.

The 3 trailers show mostly the same scenes, this one just reaches for a different appeal.
The Civil War trailer (along with other marvel ones) makes this comparison silly.

like how? serious question.
Have a trailer with a consistent tone. If you want to do those kinda jokes make it short and humorous.
Also the other problem is in that example it's a bad comedic moment.

Also not surprised they haven't shown Wonder Woman speak. We just now heard Batman speak. Not sold on Gadot as an actress but I don't think there the reason she hasn't spoke.

Just keeps a little more interest for the film. Damn it's gonna be fun to talk about this on GAF when it comes out. Maybe not fun for some

It's just what I got from the trailer. I love the Marvel
movies but they are so fucking serious
. It was as if Lex was a reminder that this is just crazy and unreal. Everything is so dark these days. I doubt Snyder can pull it off, but it's definitely his response to the seriousness of MoS.

I took it as a reminder that this is all a fantasy and we should have fun.

I'm kinda drunk too. Which could explain everything.

You're the only person on the planet who thinks this way.

it's funny how people eat shit up like Civil War shit and fights happening on garages and parking slots which make it look super cheap and almost tv series-esque and then say it's amazing, but then shit all over this for having some humor.

I mean, I knew GAF was overwhelmingly full of Marvel fans, but the amount of free pass Marvel stuff gets here, while everything DC gets shits on it's just weird. There's no way to have a decent discussion in these threads without some drive-by shit posts.

This is so BS. No one is saying humor is bad in and of itself. Humor can be good, even great, if it matches the tone and structure of the story and characters surrounding it. The reason Tony Stark doing quips doesn't feel out of place is because that is always how that character has been portrayed and presented. The reason it feels so out of place here is because MoS established a version of Clark Kent that is absolutely not the "throw in a quip before I do my superhero stuff" kind of character. The humor itself is not the problem. It's the placement and use of it.

WOW. I now have zero desire to watch this movie. It's actually kind of sad, but I feel like I know the entire plot based on this 2min trailer:( Batman and Superman hate each other in the beginning, they make up, Luthor unleashes DC's version of the HULK, Wonder Woman helps them defeat it (then they capture Luthor or he kills himself). The end.

Have you ever considered that this trailer just kinda sucks?

And when Spider-Man appears in the MCU, his thing will literally be quips for the sake of quips and it'll seem fitting, because that's who Spider-Man is and always was.

Except with marvel films it's gotten to the point where they are forcing it in, Age of Ultron and Ant Man were especially guilty of this.

I responded to question seriously but now that seems like a mistake. Like are you really upset that people don't like this trailer. Grow up.

But that's always been the case. DC fans will admittedly confess when a DC project is shit, whereas Marvel fans are biased and blind.

I love these "man I knew there were these marvel fans up in gaf but not so many!" at the negative reaction

it's not the fucking 90s.

Marvel has proven themselves and DC aint there yet, people are more wary of this movie and they should be, specially cause Man of Steel was a piece of shit and that same guy and writer and working on this and their next two films

you wanna call that my opinion and say MOS was great, fine, but that's not how it was generally recieved in comparison

there's a shit ton of reasons to be worried about this damn movie people

What are you even going on about? Superman didnt make a single quip in the whole trailer. And that Wonder Woman scene is clearly out of context (see: Batman in and out of the car) so how are you these sweeping calls about Superman's quipping personality?

In Ant-Man I didn't find it so bad, but I absolutely agree that AoU suffered for it. My statement was more of a general response to people saying "Why do Marvel fanboys hate on DC for humor?"

Ant Man is okay. The humor fits the movie, though it doesn't carry it like Guardians of the Galaxy.

Age of Ultron is a tonally inconsistent mess.

Batman v Superman looks like a bigger mess than Age of Ultron.

Best bit of this film is going to be the interaction between Clark and Bruce. Wonder Woman felt completely tacked on in the trailer and I bet she does in the film too. Seriously it's Batman and Superman meeting on screen for the first time ever, why do you need to introduced WW now?

I didn't think the editing was weird at all. Bad, sure. But I see what they were going for.

Movie still looks pretty good for me, I'm glad they showed some levity. And everyone knew some villain was gonna pop up, not surprised at all and don't consider myself spoiled in the slightest.

That looked fucking amazing. I definitely geeked out at the reveal at the end. All this fanboy talk is ridiculous. If you're over 13 years old and you stan for a comics company, go outside and take a nice long jog.

I'm still more excited for Suicide Squad than this film. I'm just not feeling it. Maybe it's the bad taste Man of Steel left in my mouth.

"I cant believe people are more excited and confident about a superheroes fighting each other movie with characters that have been established for 11 movies and directed by the brothers who directed the critically raved Winter Soldier than they are about a new movie introducing new actors playing new versions of characters never showed before that follows and has the same director as a globally underwhelming Superman movie released before!"

how the hell is this about Marvel or DC

its movies

What if I told you that Captain American and Iron Man will end up being friends again?

That's fine as long as you don't show it before hand because it dilutes the conflict before hand.

Also... while they will probably end up as friends later on, there's a good chance they won't by the end of Civil War.

and Ant Man were especially guilty of this.

What..?

What humor and quips were forced in Ant-Man? I can give you Age of Ultron but Ant-Man was just fine. In fact the humor in Ant-Man worked really well.

Anyway... Yeah this trailer just seems... weird.

I liked the original trailer more imho.

I think it looks fine. My hypee decreased alittle for sure though. It feels like to much will be going on in this film and it will suffer overall.

At this point my expectations for this film is just please do at least Batman justice (no pun intended). I like where they're going already if he's post-Death of the Family Bruce. If they tease Dick Grayson as Nightwing in this film, I'll probably not even care if it's bad.

Lol yeah it's pretty damning at this point...
So you haven't heard Wonder Woman speak yet. I thought the whole movie was spoiled though? :p

Her solo's being filmed right now. It's not like we should be concerned about them trying to hide Gadot.

the problem with Marvel's humor is that it's overdone, Tony is sarcastic yes, but he he overdoes it in the movies and it gets tiring. there's absolutely nothing wrong with Batman asking Supes if Wondy is with him. it's the type of dialog that make its way into the comics.

no one from dc or wb, said these movies are super serious and have no humor. that shitty rumour was started by guess who, devin fararci, and was never confirmed by anyone from WB. Having a movie grounded in reality doesn't mean it doesn't have humor. These movies were never meant to be super serious and devoid of humor, no one from WB or DC ever even said that.

and david ayer even said that Suicide Squad is actually pretty funny, you know like it should be, since Suicide Squad is basically black comedy.

Goyer got the boot. Nothing to do with BvS, Terrio rewrote the whole thing, from what I understand.

Also, the bolded phrases do not mean what you think they mean. Or at least, they do not mean anything that would represent the general flavor of criticism in this thread. Being "worried" would be something like "gee, it looks good/okay/decent/average, but the last one was not to my taste so I remain skeptical of the quality of the overall movie." That is what a worried group of people would say.

What we have here is mostly 2 groups: a tiny handful of people making well considered criticisms of the trailer and the content therein, and a whole bunch saying totally ridiculous shit. Be it the made-up history, the nonexistent tonal dissonance (with the rest of the movie, which is an interesting observation from a group of people who haven't seen it), and of course the ever popular "hi guys I'm just sticking my head into the thread to say that this trailer fucking sucked and so will the movie and so will all of the other movies and bye."

The former group, the guys who have stuff to say about the trailer that makes me think they at least watched it, they're welcome. The latter is what people are complaining about.
